SNEAKING OUT.
DRIZELLA'S POV. The world turned violently, one moment I was in the market square the next moment darkness only pure darkness. I started to regain my senses as I moved, turning my head, I pushed back and I staggered, standing a few feets away from me was a dark fae, but he was nothing like I read or was taught. Gods. Earlier That Day, I hated it here, I thought as I stormed down the corridor. I was furious, “Drizella!” Leon called as he followed closely behind me, I ignored the maids that bowed on our way, I just wanted to get to my room and vent out my anger. I slammed the door as I yelled before throwing everything off my dresser, I pulled my hair as I dropped down on the edge of my bed. Leon enters, staring at me, “What is wrong with you?” He asks. “Me? What's wrong with me? Well I'm tired of being treated like some glass!” I yelled “This is another festival, another excuse even though I'm of age” I say. “Why does father keep on doing this? He makes me feel caged Leon, I'm so tired of being the guarded princess, I can't even walk freely in the lower grounds without at least ten guards trailing behind me,” I say frustration creeping into my voice. “You know father only cares about you,” he says and I shake my head. “He suffocates!” I reply angrily as I stand up, “I can't ride alone,” I say tossing one of my earrings on the dresser. “I can't walk alone, and this is the third festival I'm not going to since my last coming of age and that was three years ago” I add, “This isn't care about and knows it,” I continue. His expression changed, “I don't enjoy this either Driz, but you're only sister nothing must happen to you” he says and I groan. “I don't want to be protected, I want to experience what it's like to live, Leon” I reply. Leon shakes his head already tired, “it's just a festival Driz” he says and I raise my head, “it's not just a festival Leon. I whined, “Didn't you hear me? It's the third one he's not letting me see” I reply. “How about I talk to the king father?” He asks “He won't listen to you apparently now I'm allergic to fresh air and besides he didn't listen to mother the last time,” I reply as I turn away. “I'll ask him to compromise, I'll tell him to let you watch from the high stands” he says and I frowned. “Highly enjoyable,” I say as I roll my eyes, “What good does that do for me? I'll still be protected and not enjoy the festival like you guys,” I reply. He runs his hand through his hair as he stares at me, “I'm sorry,” he apologises making me sigh, “I laid down on my bed as I stared at the roof, I didn't care if he wasn't going to let me go, I'd find a way. ♡ I landed with a soft thud as I dusted my cloak. I was so glad for the vines that grew along the walls it usually made my escape easy, I hurried down my usual lane as excitement started surging through me, this wasn't the first time I was sneaking out and father probably knew because there's no way guards purposely always left that side of the palace unguarded. I could hear the music, I smiled as I slowed down walking towards the beautiful sound, I was here. I gasped at the beautiful decorations, lanterns hung on thin ropes as children ran about and people danced. I giggled as I drew my cloak closer, I wasn't risking anyone recognizing me, I moved with the crowd as they clapped and swayed, this was fun. I watched a performance from a fire element user, he moved the flames round a ring and they obeyed. I wished I could do that, suddenly the square grew quiet and I could hear my father, “Hear hee Hear hee! The festival may commence!” He yelled as the crowd cheered, the drums became louder as people went here and there. I bought snacks from a stall as I moved, I always ate whenever I came out. The snacks were sometimes better than what I eat back at the palace. A little girl ran up to me with a balloon, I smiled as I crouched. “Wow you look like the moon Goddess,” she whispers, making me laugh. “You think so?” I asked and before nodding, I smiled, kissing her forehead, “You're so precious, what's your name?” I asked. “Elena,” she replies and I smile, “Well Elena, you're very beautiful and thank you” I say she giggles before running off again. I was about to straighten when I heard the loud unmistakable sound of a gong. I froze, panic creeping up my bones. Father had said the loud gongs were for telling us there was a dark fae around, Oh lord. I moved but people were already running around towards safety. I tried to move too but people moving about kept on hitting me, I needed to leave before someone noticed I wasn't in my room. "We've sighted a dark fae!" One of the shadow guards yelled as they guided people to safety. I moved with the crowd but my curiosity got the better of me as I stood to watch. I wanted to see how scary they actually looked. I stood rooted to a spot, and soon my eyes caught movement as I stared ahead, there someone stood in a black cloak. The energy around him was disturbing and eerie. ddenly I felt a strong pull, I wanted to see who was beneath the cloak, my feet moved me towards the figure, I was so distracted I didn't notice the blinding light moving towards me. The world turned violently, one moment I was in the market square the next moment darkness only pure darkness. I started to regain my senses as I moved, turning my head, I pushed back and I staggered, standing a few feets away from me was a dark fae, but he was nothing like I read or was taught. During our lessons dark faes were described as scary, ugly and manipulative monsters who were never to be trusted. Oh how wrong they were, the man standing in front of me was painfully beautiful, his violet eyes complimented his features as some of his hair fell freely over his eyes. I swallowed as I stepped back, he tilts his head and with a flick of his fingers my cloak falls off, my hair spills out and I froze. "Intresting." He says his voice dark and calm, "What's a light fae royal like you doing unguarded?" He asks and I shake my head unable to speak, "I...I'm not a royal," I denied as he frowns. "No?" He asks and I nod, "T...take me back," I whisper, scared all of a sudden. "Not yet, you have my essence all over you and if they find you I can't promise what they'll do to you," he replies and I shake my head. "You have to let me go back right now!" I yelled, he chuckled, walking slowly towards me, "Stay back" I muttered under my breath but he didn't listen, he stopped so close to me I could inhale his scent, he smelt like sharp spices. I swallowed as our eyes met, he was going to kill me now, I thought. He smirks as he picks up a strand of my hair, "What if I don't?"
