Chapter 18: Elijah's Dilemma

1801 Words
Eight Years Later Elijah I was on my way back to the Palace after having lunch with my mother; she filled me in on her trip with Amara, and I wished that my sister would come home. Amara is still afraid of Logar's bloodline, which is Roman, and convincing her to come home would take more than just me. That is why I asked Aidan to talk to her and maybe convince her to come home, but he said to give it time until we neutralize Roman and his lackeys. Piot was away on business with his oldest son, Phoenix, who is mated to Christie's daughter Clarise; no one was more shocked than Jasper, since they had a history. I wasn't jealous, I trusted Jasper, and in all the years, he has never given me a reason to doubt his love and loyalty, same with Marie. Marie can hold the fort down on her own, and she can be fierce when she needs to be. I was greeted by Eli as soon as I got out of my car, saying he wanted to talk to me, and I obliged. We went into the home office, and I mind-linked Marie, letting her know I was back. She was busy decorating for Eli's upcoming birthday party, and I didn't want to disturb her; our daughters were shopping for the perfect gift for their brother. One thing I can say, my kids love each other, and I felt troubled because Lauren was still a secret; I hope to come clean one day when we find a cure. Cayden had linked me about their secret mission to rescue Toffe, Ty had finally found him, and I asked Kolie and a few of my men to help out. Eli looked at me, saying, "Alpha Andrew won't sell the plaza," and I frowned; I needed the area for some land development, and I heard Eli hiss. He hated Alpha Andrew since the day he ran into his men and killed all of them; they have been sworn enemies ever since. I also sensed he wasn't telling me something about Alpha Andrew, but changed the subject and let it be; Eli was as strong-headed as I was. Eli decides to meet up with his current girlfriend, Rosalee, who is a nice woman; he likes her, but I also know he is not going to mate her because he wants his fated mate. I was in the shower, finally getting ready for my son's birthday party; Piot won't be back in time for it, but sends his best wishes. I was also listening to how the rescue mission would go; I wanted Toffe home just as much as Ty, and I had one of my spies living in Dartmouth Palace right under Roman's nose, and he was going crazy not being able to get Aidan under his thumb. However, Aidan had a ball fast approaching, and tonight, he was finally having dinner with Roman; I hope everything goes well because if it didn't, then all hell would break loose. I smelled Marie behind me before feeling her hands soaping my back; I had always loved her touch, and my c**k jumped. I could hear the music in the great hall, but I was burying my c**k in my mate; she was a moaning mess under me, but we didn't care. I could feel Jasper in the building, so I knew he had arrived; I bit Marie's shoulder, feeding as she scratched my back cuming around my c**k. Jasper came into the room as I started emptying my seed deep in Marie's womb, feeling him grab my neck as I looked up at him; he planted a kiss on my lips, and I moaned. He said, "You both started without me, I will end it tonight, but first let's attend our son's party," and we all smiled. I got up, cleaning myself as Jasper ran into the shower, and we waited to enter the ballroom together; Eli was having fun with his friends. I saw Kenna looking lonely without her mate; I smiled to see how far she and Piot had come. She was lucky that he hadn't found his third yet because of his royal blood, so either the person wasn't born yet, or they were elsewhere and hadn't met yet. Jasper left to get Eli's gift, as he had forgotten it before kissing Marie and me; our kids looked at us, smiling. They loved that we were still in love after so many years, and honestly, I was happy. My mother ran over to Eli, giving him a big hug, and I saw the guard she was probably sleeping with behind her. I smiled; once she was happy, I felt good. I started to mingle with everyone when I heard screaming; everyone turned to see Jasper with blood on his hands, dragging a woman on the ground, taking my sword from the guard whom he sent for it. No one but my mates could touch the sword, which is why it was always kept in a case before being pulled out. Something must have happened as I mind-linked the guards, "Lockdown the area," nothing beats a good execution when Kenna ran to Jasper kneeling saying, "My lord, whatever she did please forgive her, she is sick," and I knew this was bad so I held Marie hand walking over to see Lauran rambling and I froze confused, he asks the guards to hold her yelling, "She tried to kill me," showing his stab womb that was slowly healing, giving the Elder the knife. Jasper was furious; Malvoc looked at me as the crowd gasped. She had Piot's knife, and no one could pick up his knife, but Lauren was my daughter. Piot was also my brother; no one knew that but Marie, not even my mother, because my father either cheated or this was before her. Piot was at least a month older than me, and I didn't know the whole story behind it; I never told Jasper about Lauren or Piot because I honestly forgot, and figured he already knew. I f****d up not coming clean to my mate as Marie linked me, asking, "Why did you not tell Jasper about Piot?" I told her, "I will handle it, my love," as I walked forward; Marie went to Kenna and said, "It's Okay." Malvoc stated, "This is treason, my lord," and Eli was angry and asked, "Why would she try to kill my father?" Something was wrong with the way Lauren was behaving, and I silenced everyone. I was going over to Jasper, saying, "I can't execute her," and he said, "I can." I stopped him, saying, "Please, just get her the help she needs," while linking him in private, and he backed off, angry, leaving the room. Marie went to comfort him as I told Kenna to take her to the hospital wing; something set her off, and I was going to find out what. ****** Jasper I returned to the room, trying to get my son's gift, which I had bought before I came here; I loved Eli and my daughters more than anything. I heard the door behind me, and I knew this was Piot's daughter, so I didn't mind that she came here; we all knew she had her ups and downs, but she was different. She tried to kiss me, grabbing my crotch, saying, "You want me, so take me," and I was shocked and pulled away before my mates felt me being groped. She had murder in her eyes as she yelled, "It was you," and stabbed at me; I blocked the first stab, but she had another knife and twisted it into my side. The only reason I didn't die was that I was King Consort, so the knife didn't affect me, but it hurt like a b***h. It was her father's knife, and I was furious; I almost snapped her neck, but out of respect for Kenna and Piot, I was going to drag her ass back to the ball when she pushed me onto the bed and tried to stab me again. She yelled, "You ruin me, I will kill you," and that got me scared for my mates; for her blatant threats, I held her down as I pulled the knife from my side and dragged her to where she would be killed for treason. She fought me, saying, "You did it, you killed her," and I was confused; she yelled, "I will kill you and your family," andI held her tighter; no one will harm my family. I reached the ballroom and linked Mads to hand me my husband's sword; he held it as I pulled it out of the case, and I was going to execute her. I had that privilege without Elijah interfering because he trusted my judgment; if it came to this, no matter who the person was, no one would harm my family. I was brought out of my thoughts when her mother begged for her life, but she was still mumbling, "He ruined me," linking me, "I will kill you and all of them." I hated that I had to execute Piot's daughter, but she was a threat to the throne until Elijah stopped me. He then mind-linked me, "Don't kill her, Jasper, I will explain later," and I was furious, but I wasn't going to argue with my King in front of everyone since he told me privately, so I left. Later, I was outside by the garden, calming down after Marie left; I was fully healed, the party was in full swing, and I was told that Lauren was sent away again. Elijah had spared her, and I wondered why; it dawned on me that she was his mistress, so he couldn't execute her; he is the King, so I won't question it as long as they know their place. I felt Elijah behind me, and he said, "I am sorry about what happened; I can't let you kill Piot's daughter, but I have banished her from the Palace for now." I turned to him and asked, "Are you sleeping with her?" He said, "Goddess, no, I never would do that, but trust me on this, there is more going on here, and we need to find out what it is before sanctioning a mentally disturbed woman to death," and I knew he was right, so I dropped it. I trust Elijah, and he pulled me into a kiss, saying, "I know you want to protect Marie and me, but this is not it, so let's go to bed and continue what I started earlier, remember your promise to finish what we started," as he grabs my semi-hard c**k.
