“I don’t understand, sir,” Georgie said as she made her way down the stairs alongside her superior. “Why didn’t you take him in for questioning, or ask him about the picture of him with Ellen? For all we know he could do a runner; if he does that we’re going to have to explain why he wasn’t under arrest, and how we’re going to find him.”
Nathan realised his partner thought he had made a mistake; he wasn’t entirely certain himself that he hadn’t, but he had what he thought were good reasons for his decision.
