Chapter 1

850 Words
Almost 2 weeks had passed and Raine was still following Symphony around like she would suddenly disappear.  To be honest it wasn't so bad because the school had something other to talk about rather than her love life or lack there of.  Raine still had no clue that she was a vampire but she had an idea that he wasn't human either but a werewolf. She had discover this when he came into school last week after it rained and he smelled like wet dog.       As they finished off their second period class some girls came up to Symphony and started to give her a hard time about having to need a protector now.  "what can't handle the comments anymore Symph you have to have a body guard" one girl said "oh look Symphony the loner has a friend" said another and it got worse from her ex "Wow way to move on. Hope she's gotten better in bed" he said and that was all it took. Raine grabbed him by the throat and threw him across the parking lot. "What the hell Raine?" Symphony asked him, she wasn't happy at all " I've known you for what 2 weeks and you are beating people up on my behalf what the hell dude." Raine was stunned he had never been spoken to like that. "I can handle myself and their words don't bother me and I don't need your protection. Oh and by the way quit following me you should have your classes memorized by now so back off" Symphony said as she stormed off toward her house.  "God what is with this guy. I am a vampire a known enemy to werewolves and he still follows me and defends me" Symph thought to herself on her way home.  She couldn't shake the feeling that was slowly making it way threw her body she wasn't sure if she liked it or not.  She knew she couldn't tell him what she was or he'd go running to his pack if he was a werewolf like she thought or for the hills if he was human.       All Raine could do was watch Symphony as she walked away from him.  His heart broke when she got angry at him for sticking up for her. Hw was still trying to wrap his head around what had happened when his phone rang. He looked and it was a message from his Beta Steven *Alpha we have problems here need you home ASAP* With that Raine got into his car and sped off.  He did not like problems in his pack especially when he had pressing matters to attend to.  All he knew was it had to be bad if Steven couldn't handle than it must be bad.  When Raine got to the pack house he was on high alert as he got out of the car. A scent hit him like a ton of bricks. ROGUE.  He bolted to the Packhouse and mind linked Steven /why is there rouge scent outside and wtf is going on where are you/ /we're in the dungeon there was an attack we have the leader alive and the rest are dead. no casualties just some injured warriors/.  Raine made his way to the dungeon and met his Beta Steven at the doorway.  He looked around and say a lone rouge in the cell to his left. "what do you want and why did you attack us?" Raine asked using his Alpha tone. The rouge just laughed in his face. "I am not going to ask again" "I'm your worst enemy" the rouge replied and with that he blacked out.  Raine was pissed not only had then been attacked while he wasn't there but he also blocked out the mind link which made Steven have to text him instead.  He was still fuming when his phone started ringing. He didn't recognize the number but answered it anyway *Hello* *Raine this is symphony sorry I got your number from the office* Raine instantly calmed down when he heard Symphony's voice*Hey Symph what up?* *I just wanted to remind you of the quiz we have for Mrs.H's class tomorrow* Symphony sounded like she was nervous *ok Thank you for reminding me. I hate to cut this short but I have some business to attend to I'll see you tomorrow* Raine hung up before she responded.  He made his way up to his office but his mind was far from the rogue attack that had happened that afternoon.  Hours had passed before Steven Came up to the office. "How did they get in through our defenses?" Raine asked him not looking up from the papers in front of him "I don't know alpha" Steven replied "we are still looking into it" with that Steven left. Raine was still trying to figure out how they managed to break through the most secure pack in the country. He was at a loss unless they had inside help.  Raine was going to look into it in the morning right now though he needed sleep.
