A few years ago when Symphony was 16 her boyfriend decided it would be a good idea to take her to a party full of frat boys and leave her there. She thought that she was in love with him and gave him everything including her virginity but as it turns out he just wanted to use her. When they had gotten to the party he went to go get her a drink and never came back. Luckily the frat boys were to drunk to really notice her as they all had their own flings going on so she thought she could find her way home. Yeah big mistake on her part to say the least. She had gotten lost and ended up being rescued by a nice old man or so she thought. When the guy had her in the car they drove for what seemed like hours when they ended up at an abandoned building in the middle of nowhere. Her flight or fight sense went into overdrive but it was to late. The guy was on her like lightening and bit her after that she blacked out and when she awoke she was at the end of her driveway with no recollection of how she had gotten there and had the strong craving for blood. She had managed to find herself a homeless man to feed on before she went home. Needless to say her parents were none to please as she had been gone for 5 days and hadn't let anyone know where she had gone before she had left. Well since then things had changed some for the worse and some for the better. It had been two years since that all happened and now Symphony was 18 and a senior in West Brook High. Her last year before she was off to college. Could she handle anymore surprises or would she fall under the fate that awaited her.
Raine had been Alpha of the Red Diamond Pack since he was 15. His father had been killed after he tried an unsuccessful raid on the near by vampire nest. He was now 18 and ready to find his mate to take her place as Luna of the pack. He had been homeschooled but thought he would give the public school life a try and see if he could find his other half. Was he ready to find out his mate was part of the nest that killed his father? Is he ready to accept her truth in the fact that she was turned only 2 years prior to him finding her? But most importantly was his pack going to be able to accept that their Luna was a vampire.
"Come on Symphony get it together you have school today" Symphony thought to herself as she hit snooze on the alarm for the hundredth time that morning. Symphony had one more year of school left and then she was off to college and she couldn't wait. She had been through hell in her school since her so called boyfriend, Jack, had claimed she cheated on him and then dumped her like a hot potato. In reality he had been cheating on her with her best friend and left Symphony for a plaything 2 years ago at the party. It was because of that that she was the vampire she was today and truth be told she wasn't all that mad about it. She had learned to control her thirst as she called it and had a somewhat normal life after she was turned.
Symphony had just enough time to take a quick shower and head out the door for her first day of the rest of her life. She had just made it to school when the final bell had wrong so she had to get a late pass from the office. The ladies gave her a dirty look. "Great way to start off the year Symph" she said to herself as she walked to homeroom. When she walked in to the room she ran into a brick wall. There he was in all his muscled out glory, Raine. "Ah, glad you could finally show up miss Jones." Her teacher said sarcastically " since you are late I am going to give you the task of showing Mr. Matthews around for the week. He is new and is going to need a good tour guide" "is that an order or a request" Symphony fired back at Mr. James. He shuddered under her stare and looked at Raine with a small smile.
Raine was awestruck by this wonderful creature that stood before him. He couldn't quite place it but he felt drawn to her . His wolf started going crazy as he looked at her "MATE" his wolf, Jax, shouted in his head. Raine knew that he finally found the girl he had been looking for but he wasn't sure what she was. He knew she wasn't a wolf but she wasn't human either. She had some scent that he wasn't familiar with and he wanted to know why. Symphony stood there looking at him like he had three heads 'Why is he just standing there? Does he know he can sit down? Does he have a problem with me showing him around?" she thought to herself as she went to take her seat. She did not like being stared at especially by someone she just met.
"Does she really not feel that bond between us? Did she seriously just ignore us?" Jax was going nuts in Raines head to the point of Raine having to put up a wall to get him to shut up. Raine made his way to where Symphony sat playing on her phone. "Do you mind if I sit next to you?" he asked her. She looked away from her phone and had a half smile as she shrugged her shoulders. The girls in the class started whispering amongst themselves and staring at them. When the bell rang to signal first class Symphony took Raines schedule and noticed that they had all their classes together she rolled her eye. "follow me we have the same classes so I don't have to go out of my way to show you around" symphony told Raine as she started out the door. Raine followed like a little lost puppy.
