Evan would be accompanying me to the university for the whole day. His mind already had several adventures tumbling about, but I was happy he would be coming with me. We never got around to having that night in the city together.
“I hope the merfolks will keep themselves safe today.”
“We need to check on Brianna when we get the chance tomorrow. Or, maybe not,” I sighed, realizing the little mermaid was better off staying underwater.
Evan sighed and looked out the window, studying the quick passing of trees. Dark green turned into bright as the sun rose higher. We had decided to leave the palace early. Father even bid us goodbye as he walked in the gardens, literally smelling the roses.
