The girl was still drench in her agony as she sat over the police station's bench..
Who could possibly be the heartless monster who killed her mother that way?! Her head was smashed on the side of the sink which was, purposely sharp in structure. But even though how dangerous it looks to the girl, she never thought that little flaw of sink structure would be the cause of death of her loved one. How miserable she is, regretting that she would've gone home as early as possible before her mother got into that kind of situation. Or if she was murdered that night too, she could've done something.
The police had asked her a lot of questions started from where she was around 5 until 6:30 that afternoon. She replied that she's been partly in school and some of the remaining time she spend it walking, speaking with a friend. But the other remaining time that she used on screaming and wailing over her mother was not said. Her voice was still croaking like anytime soon, she'd broke down and cry again.
She's afraid, afraid of being alone. Afraid that she'd be miserable forever, fearing that every incoming nights she would dream her mother smiling sweetly, and then she'd witnessed her death again in that very kitchen. She fears losing her mother that way. It's not longer fair. What's the cause of all these 'phenomena' for her. Her being soulless, her mother, killed. What may come next of her misfortunes?
Her tears flowed again.
Why so afraid? I'm just here. A voice started speaking to her mind
Addie felt the struck of pain that made her flinch. That voice was the one who spoke into her mind earlier. Why did it suddenly struck her?
Bewildered? Is my voice isn't familiar to you? the voice said amused.
The girl shrugged. The voice was something massive to her body. It gave her heave inside of her, making her feel a bit dizzy and hard to breath. What is this? She thought to herself as she held her forehead painfully.
The police station's entrance opened as two men entered the silent place. Ethan and Blade made their way towards the sitting girl. As Addie noticed their appearance, she gazes up to them after giving a glance, she bowed her head, covered her face and continued crying.
"We need to leave here now." Ethan started as he pulled Addie's hand to take her with him. Blade followed with their speed as one of the officer blocked the entrance.
"What's going on here boys? Why are you taking her?" he asked as he held the handle of the gun in his belt.
"Blade." Ethan called as his young brother rolled his eyes in annoyance with the sudden close of light. And when the light went back in the moment, all in the station are asleep.
Addie watched the down men in disbelief. She wondered how it happened but was not able to speak. She was just staring with an open mouth as Ethan continued to pull her. It was until they reached an abandoned building.
No! Stay away!!! the voice seemed to be in a panic. Addie listened to it puzzled as the voice continued to rang her fear and started cursing. But then, Ethan spoke that distracted her.
"They're trying to take you down." He said that only Addie and blade were able to hear. His lies gotten into Blade's annoyance. For some reason, he wanted to tell some portions that are true, but his brother said to keep it that way or they might get screwed and she'll find out that Ethan killed the mother she's recognized of.
"Who were they? What do they want from me? Why did they kill mother?" she asked so upset.
"Well, the reapers cannot reap a human who doesn't have soul. So, what would they do?" Ethan now explained one truth about the reapers. "They eliminate the humans who are close to that soulless."
"How could they?" Addie complained like a child who found out that her favorite pet was stolen.
"That's why we're here. The dark bloods who will keep you safe."
"Dark bloods?" Addie looked confused.
"In order for you to be protected, we also need something in exchange of that..." Ethan paused a little as he sighed. "We'll need to eat a soul, using you."
Addie's eyes grew wide . "What?!" She suddenly asked with a raised voice.
"Right now, there's an evil spirit inside of you. Can you hear her?"
She nodded mindlessly as she listened to the voice of the woman shouting and cursing again.
"If we don't remove her inside of you, you might get completely possessed and that would be a harder phase since we have to appease the soul to let her grip to your body loose and we could get the opportunity to feed on it."
"F-feed?" now she stuttered.
"That's the only way to survive, Addie. But do not worry, you'll not get hurt." Ethan smiled tamely as Blade watched him do that. It's kinda surprising that his brother could do that kind of smile when in the process he was evil to the core. "My brother needed a soulless girl since he cannot eat soul easily. In order for him to eat, he must kill a person. However, he's so sick and tired of it. That's why he wanted your help. Could you give my brother the aid he needs?"
Blade wanted to dug Ethan's heart any time soon. That was a pathetic excuse! Does he think explaining anything and half lying is something useful? He's just scaring the girl by mentioning their kinds!
"Well Addie, I know you're a nice person. And we assure you, once you work with my brother, you'll always be protected no matter what." Ethan tried to pursue.
Addie looked at him doubtfully then looked at Blade then back to Ethan. Don't! The voice screamed afraid.
But the voice inside me was an evil spirit right? She thought.
"I'm kinda... s-scared." She admitted. "T-the voice was screaming inside me." She said.
Blade lend his hand in front of the girl. He felt the moment awkward as Ethan was watching him amused. "Let me take care of that." He said.
