It may have seemed like decades since I heard that voice, but it’s been haunting me in all my dreams. I see her every time and I listen to her talk all the time. It was like she had taken hostage of my dreams.
I slowly turned around, still scanning the party, my eyes lingering on any long curly black-haired woman in the crowd but she wasn’t there. The only person who was there was Lily, her eyes wide and smiley and her tight clench in my arm tightening.
“I was asking why you didn’t introduce me properly to Alpha Adrik. Shouldn’t he know that I’m not just one of the women who you f**k when you’re bored?” Lily asked, still holding onto my arm.
I hated the sound of her voice. How dare she contaminate the most memorable sound that I’ve heard in a long while with her squeaky voice
