While shopping, a boy, the same age as me, was whining in the corner. I approached him and asked him, "What happened?" He answered me, "My stomach is hurting." And he pointed to the part where the stomach came from. Then I touch the part where the pain is. It took aback him by how quickly the pain subsided. I smiled at him and walked away.
"Where have you been, Mikaella? Joseph asked.
"I looked for something." I quickly responded.
"Let's go now; we're done here." Sebastian stated.
We were walking down the street on our way home when I had an idea to help people not notice me when healing them.
"Hmmm... Yes, it can be that way, touching the body parts where the pain is. No, it's quite obvious. What about putting some power in the water and pretending it's tea? But how could I put power on it??????? Ah! A spell! But I don't know how to use spells. Pffftt. He he! I whispered to myself and giggled.
Sebatian and Joseph both looked at me, wondering why I was laughing alone.
"Mikaella?" They both called my name.
"Ops! Sorry, I was thinking of something." I said it.
As we arrived at the orphanage, I told Anne I'd help her prepare the food later. She was happy to hear she could have an assistant for cooking.
After a while, it's time to prepare the food. Anne cut her finger when chopping the meat. I accidentally healed her finger.
"Mikaella, how did you do that?" Anne surprised by what she discovered.
I was shaking and didn't respond to Anne's questions. I slowly stepped backwards and and pulled me.
"Mikaella?" Anne hugged me and talked calmly.
"Do you think I'm weird, Anne?" I asked her.
"No! I'm just a little surprise for what I have seen. Can you please explain what happened? Anne patiently awaited my explanation.
"I have the ability to heal people." And I told Anne where my power came from, so I told her I met an old man outside the gate and he gave me power.
"I must keep this a secret. It's very dangerous to know when someone will know about this. They will then use you for their own gain. Who else knows about this?"
I informed Anne that Joseph knew about this as well. When I was healing his arms, he also promised me to keep this a secret.
"Good!" You better not show this to others." According to Anne,
We continued preparing the food for dinner.
I laid down on my bed after dinner and thought about other things.
"It's difficult to have this ability as well. When I accidentally touched the wound on Anne's finger, it was healed. I'm glad that Anne is a good person. She understood and was concerned about me being used for the benefit of others. Is it safe if it happens to other people? What if they tried to sell or experiment on me? That scares me. "I'd better be careful from now on." I mumbled to myself until I fell asleep.
The next morning, someone visited the orphanage for adoption.
We gathered outside the orphanage house, excited to see who the visitor would adopt.
(Murmuring)
"Which of us will he choose?"
"I heard from the Sisters that he's a very wealthy man."
"Who's the lucky of us to be chosen?"
"I think it would be Mikaella. She's not only beautiful, but she's also sweet."
"I think so too."
"Oh! "They were on their way out."
The children are eagerly awaiting word on who will be the chosen one.
The director called us after the gentleman said his goodbyes to the director to find out who he was going to adopt.
"OK! Children, do you see that man now? He's Joseph's father." According to the director,
After hearing the news, we were all shocked. But Joseph was not happy with the news. And he's running to his room. I followed Joseph to comfort him.
"It must be very shocking for him." I whispered while heading towards him.
I knocked on the door and called Joseph.
"The door wasn't locked." I opened the door and approached him.
"Joseph, aren't you happy about the news?" I asked.
"For all my life, I didn't know that I still had a family. I was just thinking about it, and why now?" Joseph sobbed as he covered his face with a pillow.
"Maybe there was a reason behind it. They have only found out now. I guessed it.
"If you have a lot of questions, you should ask him directly." I added.
He nodded and said, "I feel sad when I think of leaving here."
"But we are happy that you have found your family now." I concluded.
Someone is knocking and calling our name.
"Joseph, Mikaella, can I come in?"
It's Sister Raela. And I answered her, "Yes, please."
"How are you feeling, Joseph?" Sister Raela was concerned about Joseph and inquired about him.
"I know it's hard for you to hear about what happened today. But you need to accept it, after all. They are your family. And we know they will take good care of you. That's why they searched for you." Sister Raela stated in her statement to Joseph that his new family would accept him.
"Don't worry about everything. Your father is a good person, and you have an elder brother who will live with you. You won't bore in your new home. Sister Raela emphasized Joseph.
Joseph nodded and agreed with sister Raela.
"OK, you will leave here two days later. Would you like us to help you?" We offered to assist Joseph. But Joseph rejected our offer, since he wanted to be alone for a while. We left the room and went to the playground to inform other children that we were saying our goodbye to Joseph before he left.
Two days later, Joseph's father arrived at the orphanage together with a young boy.
"He must be his brother." Sister Raela said.
We watched them approach us to pick up Joseph.
"Welcome!" We greet the guests as we always do when we have visitors.
"Please, come inside to sign some documents for Joseph. The director led the way to the office.
"You can also leave your son on the playground to play with the other kids." The director added,
"Blake, you can go to the playground now; I need to sign some paperwork for your brother." I'll be back after I'm done. Joseph's father stated.
The boy was sitting on the swing alone. I told Joseph to go there to meet his brother, but Joseph told me he was too shy to approach him. So I went alone. I approached him and sat next to him on the swing.
"Hi!" I greeted him and he looked at me with no reaction.
I smiled at him and asked another question.
"I'm Mikaella. What's yours?
"Blake!" he replied.
"How old are you? I asked again.
"Twelve." He replied again.
"I thought it would be difficult to talk to him, but he answered all of my questions." I whispered to myself.
"I'm nine years old. Do you want to have a snack? I will get you one from the kitchen. I know how to make cookies. Anne showed me how to make it delicious. Wanna try my cookies? I happily told him with a grinned smile. But he stared at me so fiercely.
"Why do you look at me like that? Are you angry I talk too much? I trembled.
"No! You're cute when you talk, Mikaella. It's amusing to watch your various reactions." Blake stated this with a smile.
"Oh! You smiled as well. Hehehe! Got you! I only got one reaction from you." I giggled.
Blake was stunned! Because he had never smiled before. He thought he was enjoying Mikaella's company.
The signing of documents has ended. They picked Joseph up to bring him home.
Joseph said his goodbye to us.
"Mikaella, I will visit you soon." Joseph said while crying.
And Blake came to me to say, "Goodbye, it was nice meeting you. Hope we can meet again, Mikaella." And he gave me a warm smile.
