The next morning, someone called out for help as I was assisting Raela with her breakfast preparations.
We rushed out of the kitchen to see what had happened outside. Raela was screaming.
“What happened?” Anne asked Raela.
Joseph fell from the tree. And his bones had been broken. Raela stated.
Raela was panicking.
“Anne, what should we do? Since yesterday, Sister Theresa has been out of town for meetings.
“Calm down, Sister Raela; let’s take Joseph to his room first.”
Following that, we took Joseph to his own room. Anne wrapped the broken bone in a bandage and treated his wounds.
“I want to help, but I don’t want to show them my power. I don’t want them to change their attitude towards me.“ I whispered to myself.
After Anne treated Joseph, we went back to the kitchen to finish preparing breakfast.
“Mikaella, could you bring this breakfast to Joseph?” Sister Raela requested it.
“Anne left the food for Mikaella because I asked her to deliver food to Joseph.” Sister Raela added.
I brought the food to Joseph. I felt sorry for Joseph when I saw him moaning in pain.
“I brought you breakfast, Joseph.” I walked closer to him and put the tray beside him.
But Joseph didn’t touch his food.
“Joseph, why didn’t you touch your food? You don’t have an appetite? I asked him.
“I have, but I can’t move my arm because of the broken bone, and I’m in pain.” He explained.
“Would you like me to assist you in feeding yourself, Joseph?” I said.
Joseph nodded, and I started feeding him. I told Joseph about my plans for tonight before he finished his meal.
“Joseph, I promise I will heal you tonight.” I commented on it.
“How will you heal me, Mikaella? Joseph wondered about it.
“Why not now?” He continued,
“I can’t do it now since everyone will return to the room. And I can’t show it to everybody.” I stated.
“OK, but do you know how to bandage my arms? He asked.
“No, I don’t need a bandage to heal you.”
Joseph tilted his head. And the meaning of my words confused him.
I brought the empty plate to me after he finished his meal, and I reminded him to remember to unlock his door tonight.
When I arrived in the kitchen, Anne told me to eat the food that had been shared with me at the table. And she inquired what Joseph was doing in his current situation. I told her that Joseph was still in pain.
“Mikaella, could you help me bring food to Joseph every day until he recovers?” Sister Raela appeared in the kitchen and assigned me a task.
I nodded it, knowing that Joseph would be healed the next day.
The night had arrived, and I checked to see if everyone had fallen asleep.
I went to Joseph’s room when no one was awake. I called him in a lower voice.
“Oh! I had forgotten the door was unlocked. Hehehe” I giggled and whispered to myself.
I opened the door. I saw Joseph was still awake, waiting for me. And I stepped slowly closer to him.
“Mikaella, you really come.” He said it to me with a startled expression.
“Of course I can’t you suffer the pain.” I replied in a hushed tone.
“Let’s not make any noise to let everyone wake up.” I added.
He agreed with me and nodded.
“I will start healing you now, but could you keep this a secret? Before I heal him, I make sure he agrees to keep it. He lip synced to me with, “OK.”
It surprised Joseph after I healed him. He couldn’t believe what he’d seen. He asked me, “How did you do that, Mikaella? And I told him that someone had blessed me with this power.
Joseph is grateful that he can move his arms now.
“Shhhh! Don’t make any noise; your yelling will wake everyone up. I reminded him.
I’m happy that I could help Joseph. I smiled at him and said that I needed to rest.
“Mikaella, thank you! I promise I will keep our secret.” He smiled at me and waved his hand to say goodnight.
In the morning, Joseph’s recovery surprised everyone.
“How come you’re fine now, Joseph? How did that happen? Sister Raela keeps on asking Joseph.
“I don’t know either sister, and it surprised me I had moved my arms when I woke up.” Joseph lied since it was a secret between him and Mikaella.
“OK, what’s more important is that you’re fine now. I’m relieved now.” Sister Raela smiled at Joseph and told him he should go out to play now.
One moment later, Sister Theresa, the orphanage’s director, has arrived.
Everyone, please assemble in the meeting room. I have an announcement.
And everyone is now in the meeting room, waiting for the announcement.
“It’s hard to say this, but foremost, I would like to say sorry for those 17 years old, turning 17 years old, and over 17 years old. We are going to set you free and leave the orphanage. But don’t worry, because you’ll be assigned to work for the companies that sponsored us, you’ll be able to provide for yourself, and you’ll have to find your own room outside. Because we will give shelter to other children who are still at a young age. Do you understand what I mean? One week later, we will send you out. However, before that, we will assist you in finding a new room outside the orphanage to live independently." Everyone involved agreed, and The Director end her announcement.
“You can proceed now to your room to prepare.” The director added,
All who were mentioned in the meeting went to their rooms and started preparing, some saying goodbye in advance. Fortunately, our orphanage provides education in the same way that other schools do. So, when we go outside, we are not ignorant.
All the children were in the playground. When someone calls me,
“Would you like to come with me to the supermarket to get some groceries, Mikaella?” Sebastian was the one who called me.
I gave a thumbs up and went off to change my clothes in my room. And Joseph unexpectedly offered to join us. Sebastian agreed to it as long as he behaved.
While shopping, I asked Sebastian a question.
“Sebastian, why do you like to bring me every time you come to the supermarket?” I asked.
“Because you always annoy me with your thoughts. Hahaha! Sebastian made a snide remark about me.
“I’m serious, Mr. Sebastian,” I said. Sebastian looked at me and said, “Because you are a very interesting girl, you have so many thoughts in your head that sometimes it’s very hard to answer them. When I tell you to stop asking questions, it’s because I’m afraid you’ll ask a difficult one and impossible to answer. And why do I like to bring you, given that you’re also very talkative? I don’t get bored when I’m shopping." Sebastian explained all to me.
