Velma returned home very late after staying with her mother all day and promised to visit her again, she would have loved to stay but Edith will use that as an opportunity to hurt her again so she returned.

Getting to the house, everyone seems to be asleep already and she couldn’t be more grateful and sneaked into her room ready to take a shower and fall asleep also but is startled to see Edith waiting for her.

Edith raise up his head when he heard her enter and Velma took a quick step back ready to take a run for it if he is here to force his way with her as usual

“What are you doing here?” she questioned, despite the fact that she has decided to change from her old timid self, Velma still dread what bad things he might do to her

“I was waiting for you” he answered and stood up then start to take off his shirt.

“I went out to meet my mom” she tried to explain

“I know, how is she doing?” Edith asked and Velma thought she heard wrong.

“I will take a shower first” he said and head into the bathroom leaving her to debate on what his actions and words meant.

Velma dropped her bag and took off her ring then wait while standing for him to finish

She got married to him because she liked him but didn’t expect him to be a complete opposite of what she had known about him, it seems like he changed all of a sudden and hated her for no reason.

Edith finished and return with a robe wrapped around him and asked her to go in and take a shower also, although reluctant Velma went in and comes out with different thoughts running through her mind on what how she will react if he tried to lay his hands on her

“Let’s go to bed”

Edith said standing behind the door and held her hand then lead her to the bed, a little frightened Velma protested and complained that she is tired but he didn’t pay attention and made her lie on the bed.

“Edith let go” Velma shouts and stood up but he forced her back but she continued to struggle with him knowing she stands no chance

“Stay still” Edith breathed and she stopped surprised to hear him speak to her in such a calm tone.

“What do you want?” she questioned

“What do you mean? Married couples sleep together in a room” he answered her sounding rather causal and Velma finds it hard to believe he just said that.

He was the first who put a bridge between them and told her never to come into his room and he won’t come to hers

“What is this nonsense about married couples?” Velma thought and concluded that he is trying to play at something

Edith pull her closer and made her rest her head on his shoulder then cuddle her to sleep, Velma continued to wait expecting him to try something but nothing happened for a while forcing her to believe he is not lying.

“Is something wrong on your end?” Edith suddenly asked

“Nothing is wrong” she answered immediately not wanting to disclose anything to him.

He is her enemy and someone she hates so much, just because he treated her well tonight doesn’t mean he has become a better person; maybe he is plotting something else who knows

“Tell me if you need any help” Edith said and stares at her eyes, Velma look away quickly and turned her back to him a little shaken by his sudden tenderness

“Goodnight” she replied instead and forced herself to fall asleep quickly

Velma woke up the next morning and sees that Edith is up from the bed and out already, she head out planning to return to work taking her car, she just found out that the studio has been managed by Edith for a while now and wanted to see things for herself.

Sue and the director in charge of the studio, Claude welcomed her at the door and led her inside the building, she already informed all the workers that Velma will be returning to work the same day and they were all excited to have her back.

The studio has a number of talented artists but none could compare to Velma’s work, she has been sending her work to the studio but strangely enough none of them were received by Claude.

“What will you like to deal with first?” Claude queried eager to have her take care of all the things they had no power over while she was away.

“Let’s start with the list of orders and clients we still have on our hands” Velma told her and Sue exit the room to get them to her.

“The M hotels has been taking our clients recently and it seemed like they have a new contractor” Claude report to her

“They have no one” Velma respond, the only explanation for her missing works could only mean that the M company are selling it privately to other people.

“I want you to get me every report of our sales and work for the last one year, ask the production department manager to see me in thirty minutes from now, also I will be inspecting the studio in about an hour” she reeled out different instructions and Claude note them down and went out to start on them.

“Ma’am” Sue returned to the room without the file Velma requested for and looks a little anxious.

“Why are you back so soon?” Velma asked

“The new chairman of SILVER companies is here” Sue breathed; Velma stood up from her seat also shocked and slowly sits back again.

“Are you sure?”

“Yes I am, he is here with his infamous assistant” Sue answered and Velma became restless, there is no reason why Nelson will visit her company in person and that too with his assistant.

Mathieu is popularly known as a bloodthirsty tiger, he is Nelson’s right-hand man and there are rumors that he obeys every order his boss gives, including killing anyone. He is known to be ruthless in his dealing and people fear him just as they fear Nelson.

“Did you ask why they are here?” Velma asked taking a minute to calm down

“I ran after seeing them” Sue told her realizing how unprofessional her action was. She was so shocked after seeing them step in and took a run for it without thinking.

Velma bite her fingers thinking hard on what could be the reason Nelson come here in person and couldn’t figure out a good reason.

“Maybe they are here to have some coffee?” she said but Sue shook her head

“The distance from here to their company is about one hour” she told her and Velma nodded slowly and stood up from her seat

“Are you going to run away?” Sue queried

“Why would I run away from my company? They are the ones who should explain their reason for coming here, let’s go outside to meet them” she said confidently and walk out of the office.

She took the stairs instead of using the elevator and took a few minute to arrive at the ground floor where he is waiting with Mathieu.
