Betty returned back to the house and brief everyone about Edith's current condition before leaving to return home, because Velma is with Edith she decide not to go back to him and held to their old house.

Velma's mother welcomed her at the door since she hasn't seen her in so long and hugged her.

Betty greeted her happily and removed her shoes in her room which was formerly Velma's

"Will you like me to get you some juice?" Velma's mother asked

"Mmm" she answered and Velma's mother soon returned with some juice for her.

"Did you see your sister today?" She queried and Betty nodded

"How is she? Did she ask about us?" Velma's mother questioned anxiously and Betty told her

"Why don't you try convincing her to come visit us one day, we have really missed her" she said

"I will try mum but you know how stubborn sister can be, she is still angry at you and dad for pushing her to marry Edith" Betty said and Velma's mother immediately felt bad

Betty stood up and approached her at the door; she held her hands to console her

"But don't worry mom, after all I am there to look after her. I will tell you if anything happens so just trust me" she said and Velma's mother nodded and thanked her for looking after her sister before closing the door and leaving her alone.

The smile on Betty's face turned sour after she left and she walked over to her closet to remove her clothes.

Every time Mrs. Alec shows her concern for Velma who has abandoned the family after getting married, Betty is always reminded of the fact that she is just an outsider taken in by the family out of pity.

She had wanted to marry Edith but because Velma also wanted the same thing, her mother grants her wish ignoring her own feelings.

"Too bad that I am going to have Edith for myself now" she thought smiling to herself and takes off her necklace.

When he wakes up to realize that she has been taking care of him for the past few months then he is going to believe that she is the only one who truly cares about him and with the help from his family, it's only a matter of time before she throws Velma out of the Maddox family.

Velma got out of the house driving one of the old cars she bought with her when she got married and made her way to the café she owns but abandoned the management and puts her husband in charge after getting married.

She is a very talented potter and inherited the trait from her father, after succeeding the studio, Velma also build a café beside it which she uses to meet with her clients but gave everything up after getting married.

"Who are you?" One of the staff who saw her asked not recognizing her

"Velma Alec, where is the manager in charge here?" She asked

"Do you have a reservation or you are an acquaintance with her?" The staff questioned wondering who she is to demand to meet the manager.

He has been working at the cafe for a year and knows the list of all their VIP clients.

Seeing that he doesn't recognize her, Velma decides to call the manager herself and waited at a corner since customers are only allowed in based on reservations.

Sue, the manager hurried out of her office to meet with Velma and greets her warmly while instructing the waiter to quickly arrange one of their best tables for her.

"She is our boss" Sue introduced seeing the curious look on their faces and their attitude immediately changed hearing those words.

"What happened? We didn't hear anything from you after the wedding and thought you were trying to cut ties with us" Sue said taking a seat in front of her.

Aside from working as a manager, she is also Velma's close friend and the two has known each other for a while.

"What will you like to take?" Sue queried and Velma told her

"A lawyer came here to look for you, he said he couldn't reach you and had to speak with you urgently" Sue informed her and Velma remembered that instant.

On the 1st of December, she had received a document saying she agreed to merge her cafe and studio with the M hotel and gave away her shares to her husband also.

"Do you have his number?" Velma asked and she nodded

"He said to call immediately I get in touch with you" she said and goes to bring out the phone number.

"Here it is" Sue said as she hand it over and Velma made the call.

In the past, after merging the studio and café with their hotel business, Maddox company soar even higher and they become one of the best in the country while she was left with nothing.

"I will meet with him here tomorrow at the same time, make sure to reserve this table for me" Velma said and hugged Sue before leaving.

She drive around her car for a while lost in thought and without a direction in mind, because of her naïve heart, she had thought getting married to Edith was the best thing for her after graduating

She had sacrificed her happiness for years and remained miserable in the house without anyone to rely on. Even her stepsister who always appeared to be sweet and cared for her turned out to be a b***h who only wants her man and position.

Velma remembered the scene of being poisoned by Edith and suddenly has difficulty in breathing, she quickly pull the car to a stop gasping for breath and took a minute to calm down.

On a second thought, she decided to go see him at the hospital and turned the car around with the thought to kill him strong in her heart.

Velma arrived at the hospital and met the doctors attending to Edith in the room and immediately came back to her senses, she entered the room greeting them but they turned to her suspiciously

"You are?" One of the doctors asked.

"Velma, his wife" she introduced

"Ah Mrs. Maddox, it's good that you are here now. Your husband's condition as improved a lot" the doctor told her excitedly but Velma remained cold.

"Mrs. Maddox? I thought the other lady is Mrs. Maddox" one of the nurses whispered

"That will be my sister, she is just his secretary" Velma quickly clarifies to them and the nurse apologizes for their wrong assumption and left her alone in the room.

She moved closer to the bed he lie on suddenly feeling uncomfortable and scared to be close to him again despite the fact that he is unconscious

Velma remembered how scared she was when he forced the poison down her throat and hurt her several times, she stopped when she is close enough and reach out to remove the oxygen mask he is breathing with.
