Blogs are simple to set up and allow you to connect directly with readers through frequent posts. You can start a free blog at a site like Blogger, Wordpress, or Livejournal. If you decide to start a blog, make sure you keep it updated—when readers visit your site, you don’t want them to see it was last updated two years ago. They won’t be encouraged to come back too frequently.
What do you put on a blog? Well, any- and everything, really. Some authors only post writing-related entries—contests, sales, book signings, new releases, works in progress, free stories, stuff like that.
