Unfortunately, the anonymous nature of the internet that entices people to behave badly doesn’t end with bad reviews. Piracy is a fact of life, and one that isn’t going to go away any time soon, no matter how many laws the government enacts to combat it. Most piracy websites aren’t hosted in countries with copyright or anti-piracy laws, so appealing to the service providers (or ISPs) to get the site taken down is fruitless. Many ignore or block your e-mails, or spam you for your effort. And when you manage to get one book taken down off one site, another three pop up elsewhere online.
