Despite still feeling a little tired from spending a couple of days in bed and sick, it"s still satisfying to fall into the easy rhythm of embalming with Nik while Matia snores from the corner. It"s actually nice to be able to do this, it feels so normal when no one actually cares what we"re doing beyond the fact that the work is being done. And while it is a little disappointing that I won"t be taking many new techniques back to London with me, at least I can be useful here. The High Blessed likely won"t care, but I"m sure whoever is running the mortuary isn"t complaining about having a couple of extra experienced hands around.
