After the Water

Seara tried to get up, but she only had enough strength to lift her head. Austin heard Delcy calling him. The excited voices of Delcy's friends watching them from the edge of the pool did not deter Austin from lifting Seara. "Let's go back. The fun is over." Austin looked around them. Some of the wolves retreated, their voices reduced to whispers. Seara's body felt light in his arms, but that made her difficult to control. She squirmed as they moved away from the pool, her hands clutching Austin's shirt tightly. "Put me down," she muttered incoherently. "I can walk myself." "You almost drowned," Austin replied flatly, his steps steady. "Be quiet." Austin said as he held Seara's arm. "Don't tell me what to do," Seara snapped suddenly, her voice rising and falling indistinctly. "Who do you think you are?" Austin sighed deeply, his jaw tightening. "Seara. Don't be noisy. Everyone is looking at you." Seara laughed softly, a laugh that wasn't really funny. "Let them. Afraid their attention will shift from your girlfriend to me?" "I'm not—" "You kissed her," Seara cut in quickly, her eyes half-closed, but her gaze sharp. "I saw." "You're drunk," Austin replied curtly. "And you're a cheap playboy," Seara answered without hesitation. Seara's gaze grew more cynical. Austin paused for a moment, turning to look at her. "We'll talk about it later." "Ah, sure," Seara snorted. "Always later. You're always busy with other female wolves." She sneered. Austin didn't reply. He continued walking towards the guest room that Seara was using that night, which was closer than his own private room. As soon as the door closed, Austin carefully lowered Seara onto the bed. But as soon as her back touched the mattress, Seara immediately flew into a rage. "Don't touch me!" she shouted, pushing Austin's chest with little force, but full of emotion. "Seara," Austin held her hand. "You need to lie down." "No! I don't want to be in the room of a man who just had a heated argument with another female wolf!" Seara rolled to the side, too quickly, too carelessly, until she fell on her own. Her body hit the floor with a dull thud. "Damn," Austin cursed reflexively. He immediately knelt down, grabbing Seara's shoulders. "What's wrong? Are you hurt?” “Don’t pretend to care, i***t!” Seara hit his chest once, twice. Not hard, but enough to vent her anger. “You let him touch me! You let me drink!” “I didn’t know the drink was that strong,” Austin replied, his tone rising. “And no one ‘touched’ you.” "You were there!" Seara shouted. "Laughing, then busy groping Delcy!" "I wasn't groping Delcy," he said more softly, but firmly. "She pulled my hand. That's different." "How is it different?" Seara laughed bitterly. "Your hand was still on her butt, right?" Austin took a deep breath and lifted Seara back onto the bed, this time more firmly but still carefully. "Sit down. Don't move!" Austin ordered, pointing his index finger at her. Seara obeyed... for two seconds. Then she hit her chest again, this time crying silently. "I hate that you kissed her. But I want to teach you a lesson." "For Moon Goddess's sake, your drunkenness is so troublesome," Austin said, putting his hands on his hips, his face beginning to show irritation. "I'm not drunk!" Seara pointed at Austin's face with a trembling finger. "You're the one who's drunk and saying everything that comes to you, handsome Alpha. I'll just scratch your face so it looks ugly." Austin stood up, combing his still-wet hair. His patience was wearing thin. "You know what the problem is?" he finally said. "You're drunk. You accuse without thinking." "You've been accusing me this whole time," Seara replied quickly. Their eyes met. The air in the room felt heavy. "You're troublesome," Austin said softly but honestly. "And I'm tired of cleaning up messes that aren't my fault." Seara fell silent. Then she laughed softly and brokenly. "Fine. Let you have something to do." She pulled her knees to her chest and turned her head away. "Then just go to Delcy. She'll be more obedient. Not like me, who's so talkative." Austin cursed softly. "I won't leave you like this." "Why?" Seara turned back. "Because I'm a wolf healer you can collect? Sorry, but I'm already broken." One eyebrow raised with a smirk. That hurt. Austin felt his jaw tighten. "Enough." "No," Seara replied. "I'm not done." She stood unsteadily, pointing at Austin again. "I hate that you kissed me... but also kissed her. Choose one, indecisive Alpha!" "You're in no condition to talk about this," Austin said firmly. "And you've been arguing with me this whole time!" Seara shouted. Silence fell between them. Finally, Austin turned his face away. "Go to sleep, Seara. We'll talk tomorrow. When you're sober." Seara laughed softly, then her body went limp. Her drunkenness finally won out. She fell back onto the bed, her breathing heavy, her eyes slowly closing. Before she fell completely asleep, her lips moved slowly. "If you want everything... don't touch me. I hate being lied to again." Austin stood by the bed for a long time, listening to the wolf's murmurs. His emotions were mixed. He was confused seeing Seara's honest version. He didn't mean to make Seara hate him. He just wanted to know how Seara felt about him when she saw him with another female wolf. This wasn't what he expected. He didn't want Seara to hate him. "I'm sorry, Seara." Austin kissed Seara's lips lightly. Unexpectedly, Seara opened her eyes again, although not fully. "You told me to sleep, but you still kissed me. What do you want?" said Seara, pouting. "Maybe you'll forgive me after I kiss you," replied Austin casually with a smile. "If I forgive you, what will I get from you?" asked Seara defiantly. Austin was silent for a split second. Their gazes locked, Seara's eyes still dull from the alcohol. Seara snorted softly, but her hand reached for Austin's shirt collar and pulled him closer. They could feel each other's breath. Austin's hand gently caressed Seara's warm cheek. Their lips met again, this time without hesitation. The kiss was deep, quite rough. Full of emotions they had been holding back all this time. Seara moaned softly, her fingers clutching Austin's hair tightly, pulling him closer as if afraid the Alpha would pull away. There was only them, Seara with her intense jealousy, and her desire still fighting her heart. Austin lost control for a moment. He kissed Seara, as if wanting to silence all the accusations, all the pain that had never been spoken. Their breaths were ragged, their chests pressed against each other, the heat in the air suffocating. "Seara..." Austin gasped between kisses, his voice hoarse. He continued to devour Seara's lips passionately, as if he never wanted to let go. Seara didn't want to be outdone; she responded and unconsciously bit Austin's lip lightly. Her hand slipped under Austin's shirt, making the man gasp. The next kiss was deeper, slower, and not just a release.
