The burning heat between them felt as if it could scorch the entire guest room.
Austin could no longer hold back. The kiss moved from Seara's lips to her neck, leaving a trail of heat that made Seara moan softly.
Austin felt his heart pounding in his ears. He began to unbutton her shirt one by one with trembling hands, while his other hand still held Seara's slim waist.
Seara herself looked very excited, she responded to every touch with a seductive short breath.
"Austin..." whispered Seara, her voice hoarse and full of passion.
"Hm?" Austin replied with a voice that sounded more like a wolf's growl than a human's.
He moved to take off his shirt completely, ready to take this relationship to the next level.
He leaned down, about to devour Seara's already swollen, red lips again. However, his movement stopped.
There was no response. There was no grip on his shoulder.
Austin frowned. He moved his face away slightly to look at Seara. The girl was still there, but her eyes were tightly closed.
Her mouth was slightly open, and the sound that came out was no longer a moan of passion, but a soft, rhythmic snore.
"Seara?" Austin shook her shoulder gently.
Seara only muttered incoherently, turning her body away from Austin and pulling the blanket up to cover her chin. She was fast asleep.
The effects of alcohol and exhaustion after nearly drowning had finally won out over her passion.
Austin stood frozen in place. His body felt hot, his heart was still racing, and his lower body felt very stiff and uncomfortable. He stared at the ceiling of the room in disbelief.
"Are you kidding me?" Austin muttered to the silence of the room.
He sat on the edge of the bed, running his fingers through his messy hair in frustration. The desire that had been building up was now stuck in his throat, making him feel very upset.
Austin turned to Seara, who was dreaming sweet dreams, and cursed softly. He couldn't possibly continue anything with a woman who was sleeping because she was drunk.
Feeling extremely annoyed, he finally lay down on the empty side of the bed, staring at the wall with wide eyes until sleep finally overtook him.
**
The sunlight stung Seara's eyes, forcing her to wake up with a head that felt like it had been hit with a sledgehammer. The intense dizziness made her hold her forehead.
"Ough..." she moaned.
She tried to sit up, but her eyes caught something strange and even more shocking: a shirtless man was sleeping with his back to her on the other side of the bed.
Memories of last night's passionate kiss hit her like a speeding train.
"No, don't tell me..." Seara screamed softly.
She checked her clothes; they were still intact, though very wrinkled and messy.
Her hair resembled a bird's nest. Without waiting for Austin to wake up, Seara got out of bed with stealthy movements.
She had to get out of there before her self-esteem fell even lower.
Seara managed to get out and jogged towards her own room in another corridor. However, just as she was about to grab the doorknob, a shadow blocked her way.
"So, this is why you disappeared last night?"
Seara looked up. Delcy stood there with a flushed face, her eyes glaring at Seara's messy appearance.
"Move aside, Delcy. I'm not in the mood," Seara muttered as she tried to get past the woman.
"You slept with Austin!" Delcy shouted.
Without warning, she lunged forward and grabbed Seara's already messy hair.
"Aakh! Let go, you crazy wolf!"
Seara responded reflexively. She didn't have the strength to fight elegantly, so she immediately clawed at anything within reach.
The fight broke out in the hallway. Delcy pulled Seara's hair with all her might, while Seara used her sharp nails to attack Delcy's arms and face.
"You shameless b***h! He's mine!" Delcy screamed as she pulled Seara's body until they both fell to the floor.
"In your dreams! The truth is, he kissed me last night!" Seara replied, giving Delcy a sharp scratch on the cheek.
Austin, who had been awakened by the noise, appeared at the end of the corridor wearing only his pants.
He saw a very unsightly scene: two female wolves rolling around on the floor, pulling each other's hair and kicking each other in a very chaotic position.
"Stop!" Austin shouted.
However, neither Seara nor Delcy listened. Seara had just managed to rip Delcy's expensive blazer, exposing her shoulder, while Delcy had managed to pull out a clump of Seara's hair.
Austin tried to approach to break it up, but as he reached out, Delcy's heel accidentally hit his shin, and Seara's wildly swinging hand almost poked his eye.
Austin took a step back. He decided to stand leaning against the wall, folding his arms across his chest, and watching with a blank expression.
"Go ahead. Let me know if anyone passes out," he said casually.
The fight finally subsided due to exhaustion. Delcy was panting with bloody scratch marks on her cheek that were slowly closing, but still stinging.
Seara's hair looked very thin on one side because it had been pulled out, and her appearance was completely ruined.
"Austin! Look what she did to me!" Delcy whined, pointing to her injured face.
Austin did not turn to Delcy. He walked over, grabbed Seara's arm, and pulled her to her feet. "Go back to your room," he said coldly to Seara.
"But she started it!" protested Seara with an annoyed expression.
"I don't care," Austin interrupted.
He dragged Seara into her room, ignoring Delcy who was screaming for attention behind them.
Once inside the room, Austin locked the door. He turned Seara to face him. His eyes stared intensely at Seara, who was still grumbling about how evil Delcy was.
"Shut up, Seara!" Austin ordered.
"You should have defended me! She pulled my hair until I was bald!" Seara continued to complain, her fingers pointing boldly at Austin's chest.
"I said shut up!" Austin repeated.
"No! You're a useless Alpha when it comes to women! You—"
Seara's words were cut off when Austin grabbed her neck and silenced her with a rough, demanding kiss.
This was not a sweet kiss. It was Austin's way of showing his dominance. Seara tried to push Austin's chest away, but he pinned her against the wall, locking both of Seara's hands above her head with one hand.
Seara felt the oxygen leaving her body. When Austin released her, Seara was about to curse again, but then she saw Austin's eyes.
They were cold, dark, and extremely intimidating. Seara's explosive courage immediately shriveled up.
"Still want to talk?" Austin whispered low, his breath hot against Seara's ear.
Seara shook her head slowly, her courage shrinking to zero.
Austin let go of Seara's hand and stepped away. He took a deep breath, trying to neutralize the remnants of anger and dissatisfaction from last night. Without looking at Seara, he made a mind link.
[Alex, call one Omega to Seara's room now. Bring new clothes and tidy up this mess,] he ordered firmly.
Austin looked at Seara once more with an expression that was difficult to interpret. "Your behavior last night was very troublesome. Don't expect me to be nice today."
Seara thought to herself, 'He's the one who started kissing, he's the one who got angry. Typical Alpha with a split personality.'
"I have to go downtown to survey the location for the charity gala. Don't cause any more trouble," Austin said as he walked toward the door. He paused briefly, glancing back at Seara. "And Seara... if you want to keep your claws, obey all my orders today. Understand?"
Seara nodded stiffly. She wanted to protest, to say that she wasn't a pet, but Austin's cold aura silenced her.
As soon as Austin left, an Omega rushed in carrying toiletries and new clothes.
After nearly an hour of being taken care of by the Omega, Seara felt a little more human. She wore a simple yet elegant training dress.
She decided to go to the back garden to practice her still unstable healing abilities. For her, being alone with the plants was much better than dealing with a grumpy Alpha.
However, her steps halted in the hallway leading to the garden when an unfamiliar masculine voice called her name.
"Seara? Is that your name?"
Seara turned around. There stood a young man in very formal attire, but with a slightly sly smile. His eyes were sharp, observing Seara from head to toe.
“Yes. Who are you?” Seara asked warily.
The young man bowed slightly, offering a stiff yet polite greeting.
“I didn’t expect to find such a beautiful healer in a remote place like this. Allow me to introduce myself—I am the son of Darkmore.”
Seara had heard the name Darkmore before.
