Jethro was surprised to see Topaz back at school. How long was she away? A month, or even more? Of course, Jethro knew how long she was gone.

Topaz was gone for 1 month, 13 days, and 15 hours. That was how long he had been waiting for a reply from Topaz. It was the same amount of time since he last saw Topaz in her house that weekend.

But instead of Jethro, someone else was pushing her wheelchair to class. Jethro could not help but feel something piercing inside his chest. It was so bad that he could feel it going up to his throat. He bit his lip, causing it to bleed. He could taste blood in his mouth.

So this is what he gets after waiting for her to return? She would just show up without notice with someone he doesn't know?

Jethro was about to turn away when a familiar voice called him from the hall.

"Jet!"

He turned around to see Jessica, behind the guy that was pushing Topaz's wheelchair, running towards him.

Jethro looked at Topaz who was now looking at him.

Why did the tables suddenly turn around? Why does she feel like it was his turn to explain things to Topaz when it was her who disappeared without notice?
