Chapter 1: Rebirth of the Vengeful Heiress
Chapter 3: Floating Life Is Like a Dream
When Su Anran woke up, she was in a warm bed, looking around. It was an attic, with a window in the ceiling, and a layer of snow piled on the glass.
Could it be that Uncle found out? Su Anran’s heart tightened. She heard footsteps coming up the stairs and quickly lay down, closing her eyes.
The person walked up to her, and a faint coffee scent wafted over. Then the person touched her forehead and muttered, "The fever is gone."
The words were in Chinese, but the action didn’t seem like someone trying to harm her, so Su Anran opened her eyes.
The person was evidently startled by her sudden movement and then smiled, "When did you wake up?"
It was the man who had lent her the phone.
Su Anran took the cup of water he handed her, drank a few big gulps, and said, "Thank you, but I have to go." As she spoke, she lifted the cup, grabbed the sweater on the nearby sofa, and looked for the note she had recorded earlier.
"Are you looking for this?" The man handed her the note.
Su Anran looked at it: "That’s it. Thank you, boss. I’ll pay you back for the phone bill and..."
The man sat on the sofa, looking at her with a smile: "Aren’t you going to ask me how to get to that coffee shop?"
Su Anran paused. Indeed, she was not familiar with Seattle at all. She turned to him and asked, "Excuse me..."
He smiled and lazily leaned back on the sofa: "Chen Zheng really knows how to get me into trouble. My shop is called THE ONE, and you didn’t see it when you came." He pointed to the bed, "Your Uncle will come to find you in three days. I’ve heard a bit about your situation; you should take care of your health first." He pointed to the bedside, "I bought you some clothes. You sweated a bit; wash up and change into clean clothes."
Su Anran looked at him in disbelief.
He paused: "My name is Wang Fusheng. You don’t need to be nervous. Since your uncle asked you to find me, I must be someone he trusts." After she fainted, he had received a call from Chen Zheng, and he had taken care of this little girl for a night, recalling his own experiences in the business world.
Their family backgrounds were quite similar, but the difference was that he could choose his life, while this little girl seemed unable to.
Su Anran sat back on the bed, dazed. The incident had happened so suddenly that she felt she hadn’t had time to sort out her thoughts until now.
She returned to the year she was 18, when her parents had just passed away, and she hadn’t yet met her cousin Su Xin. Her grandfather passed away when she was 20, and she remembered it clearly...
Su Anran clenched her fists and shed tears.
In her previous life, her grandfather was the head of the Su Group, her father Su Zhu was the younger son, married to Lin Huanxi, the daughter of a jewelry tycoon, and then she was born. Her mother was weak and couldn’t have a second child, but the Su family didn’t favor boys over girls and treated her like a treasure.
Su Anran, who lacked for nothing, was very straightforward, her emotions easily visible, and her thoughts were simple and direct. She often saw things as they were; to put it positively, she was innocent, and negatively, she was naive.
After her grandfather died, she didn’t have to worry about the company’s development; everything was managed by her uncle. She only needed to swipe her card, swipe, and swipe! The term "gold-digging girl" applied to her without exaggeration.
Therefore, there were some things she only understood after her death.
Fortunately, she was reborn.
Su Anran curled up her legs, buried her head in her knees, and hugged herself. She felt a lack of security in this world and tried hard to calm her mind.
This accident should be the beginning of her uncle’s plan. Next, if she was taken back by her uncle, she would repeat the fate of her previous life—like a pig waiting to be fattened.
Wang Fusheng looked at the little girl curled up in the corner, feeling a surge of protectiveness, but it was quickly dispelled by the thought of not getting involved.
There are many unresolved grievances in this world; he shook his head and walked toward the stairs.
Su Anran heard the footsteps, raised her head, and said to his back, "Mr. Wang, I want to go see my parents."
Wang Fusheng was taken aback. He had distanced himself from that circle for three years to seek peace, which was why he opened a coffee shop in Seattle. He understood better than anyone that the feuds of wealthy families were complicated.
And this little girl, her life’s grievances seemed to have just begun. He didn’t want to wade into this muddy water.
"I want to send them off for the last time." Su Anran’s heart tightened, and her voice trembled a bit.
Although she had prepared herself for her parents' absence, experiencing the most sorrowful moment of her life again did not lessen her sadness at all.
Wang Fusheng was stunned, comforting himself: it was just helping Chen Zheng take care of a little girl. When Chen Zheng came, he would take her away, and he would still be a small boss enjoying coffee and scenery.
"Don’t go see your parents looking dirty." Wang Fusheng said casually, then walked down the stairs unhurriedly. His back seemed a bit thin, but his tall figure was quite handsome.
If one listened closely, it seemed he sighed softly.
