Standing one’s ground
The elders of the pack gathered to discuss the result of the hunt. They all had disapproving looks when they looked at Jake.
“I think your son has just been wasting time and pretending to be working while he is not doing anything productive. How come he hasn’t been able to find anything so far? He had just put the lives of our pack members in danger unnecessarily.” One said as he faced the Alpha of the Crow pack, Jake’s father.
“Yes, I think if he was as incompetent as he has proven to be, he should be ashamed to even show his face here.” Another said and many of the men agreed but suddenly the door was thrown open and Hailey entered with Jake who looked sad but kept a straight face.
