Chapter Five After catching a handful of criminals together and visiting too many hospital rooms, clutching flowers in one hand and his heart in the other, Callan knew when to resist and when to concede with his woman. He might want to shake her like a bunch of flowers, but this was a Mackinnon woman. A special breed etched with stubbornness in their DNA. Callan interlaced their fingers. ‘If this case escalates and I tell ye to stop—’ ‘Callan.’ Aileen pointed at the slick laptop on the kitchen counter. Her study, they both knew after the last time Callan had banged his head on the doorframe, wasn’t ideal.
