Chapter Nine Aileen paced, not paying heed to her aching feet or pounding head. She’d barely eaten since they’d returned, her mind stuck on the man whose murder she was investigating. Was he the devil? Is that why he wanted salvation? Or had someone coerced him down the wrong path? She gripped her head, fisting her hair. The questions wouldn’t stop.
