Chapter 2

"Um, hi?" I ask wondering why our future beta would be talking to me. "Do you know if Kim is seeing anyone?" Ai, now I get it, either he wants to date Kim or the alpha does. I knew this was odd. "Who's asking you or the future alpha?" I asked him. "O come on you don't need to know that. Just tell me if she's seeing someone or not," he demanded. Ha like I would tell him. "If you want to know so badly why don't you ask her, Hu?" folding my arms.

You would think because I'm a human I should be scared of him, that if he said jump I should ask how high but because I am human I don't need to. I might live with them and keep their secret but I'm not a wolf, their rank means nothing to me, I also have the protection of the Alpha and Luna of the pack so no one can hurt me. My parents were close to all the wolfs not just Kim's parents. My parents did a lot of business with the pack and so did their parents and so on. Ben snapped his fingers in front of my face bringing me out of my thoughts.

"What?" I asked him. " Ag, never minds, I'm getting nowhere with you." He said getting up and leaving to set in his usual spot. Thank the gods he went. The higher ranked wolves always think the world belongs to them that if they snapped their fingers you had to obey.

Ya, sure the wolf under their rank would if they used their Alpha or beta voice but I didn't have to. They keep forgetting I'm not a wolf. I wouldn't mind being one but hey you get what you get and like now it was good I wasn't one.

The rest of the school day went by quickly. After school, all students had to go train our pack trains both male and female to train no matter what even I had to train. The Alpha and Luna say that we all need to know how to defend ourselves. "You never know if you will need to kick some ass!" Luna's words.

I'm a pretty good fighter for a human, I'm ranked 7th out of all the students. Kim is 3rd well the future Alpha and Beta are 1st and 2nd. I of course cont fight in wolf form coz I'm human but I can take down a wolf which is good.

We are trained by our delta which so happens to be Kim's dad and because he's her dad he is harder on the both of us because he needs to know we can protect ourselves.

Training starts with a long run around our pack grounds in the human form than in the wolf. Me not having a wolf has to run twice in human form. I'm pretty fast and can keep up with the wolves, which shouldn't be possible and I've asked myself a thousand times now but I've never asked out loud.

I spot Kim and I run a bit faster to catch up to her. "Hey Kim," I say scaring the daylights out of her. Laugh at her, she gives me a look that's meant to shut me up. haha not going to happen. . "That was not funny Steffie." she says still glaring at me. "Okay I'm sorry Kim, but you should have seen your face," I say giggling. "What's up?" she asked, "I know you didn't just speed up too scared the living daylights out of me."

Ya, she's right I wanted to tell her about Ben. "Well guess you spoke to me today," I tell her. "Jammy, Ethan, or David?" she guessed and got it all wrong. "no Ben the future Beta did, and guess what he wanted to know," I say looking at her, she just shrugs her shoulders. "Well, he wanted to know if you were seeing anyone." I paused.

"What? Why would he want to know that?" she asked me. We were close to where they had to change into their wolves. "How am I supposed to know why he asked! I asked who is asking him or the Future Alpha but he didn't want to tell me." I told her. They had to change into their wolf so we would carry on this conversation later on.

I carry on running they will catch up in a few seconds. I keep on moving when I heard the warning howl telling us we are being attacked. We aren't a big pack only about 500 of us and attacks are normal for us with other Alphas wanting our lands but we are strong, stronger than all the other packets our size we can stand up to much bigger packs.

I turn and run to the packhouse I have been assigned to protect the pups and pregnant wolf as I'm running at full speed I see everyone going to their assigned positions. Kim is also going to the packhouse we are a great team and have always been assigned together.

We need to get there as fast as we can. As we are running Kim gets tackled to the ground. s**t, I need to get to her now. Just as I change direction I get hit hard and land on the ground using my arms to protect my head. Damn we need to get to the packhouse now we can't deal with this right now, Ag.
