Chapter 3

I twisted my body and push up getting the rogues off of my back. Turning around I managed to grab hold of the wolf's neck with my legs. Pressing and twisting as hard as I can to break the rogue's neck. The rogue body stops thrusting and soon I hear the brake of its neck. Looking to Kim she has also managed to get free. With a single node, we start running again. We need to get to the packhouse to keep the pups and pregnant wolf safe, that's our duty and we hate to fail. What is bothering me is that we haven't had a rogue attack for years now. This isn't normally one bit.

We see the packhouse ahead of us. There are so many rogues that they outnumber the wolves who are already there fighting. The wolves are doing a great job of keeping the rogues out of the packhouse. Kim looks at me and I nod to her. We both know what to do I might not be able to mind link Kim like the other wolf but somehow we always know what the other is thinking in this kind of situation.

We both start back to back taking down the rogues as we move closer to the packhouse. One by one, her in her wolf form and me as a human. I go high she goes low. When she goes high, I go low we keep each other covered the whole time. A rogue come at me from the side and she's there to rip his throat out, another rogue comes at her and I've got him around the neck with my arms snapping his neck. We keep going till all the rogues are dead.

You might be wondering how am I, a human strong enough to break a wolf's neck? Well, I don't know I have been asking myself the same question. Yes, I train with wolfs but I'm human. How am I that fast and that strong? I have no clue. I wish I did.

Looking around we have a few injuries but luckily no one has been killed by our pack. The pups and pregnant wolfs are all safe. Now it's for the cleanup. Ag! I hate the clean up after a battle. It's not a good feeling having to take all the bodies away and burn them. But someone has to do it before the pups see this mess. We all get to work and get done quickly. Everyone is exhausted and all head home to take a well-deserved shower.

After showering I get dress. Since we were attacked the rest of the train has been canceled. So I head to Kim's room. On the way there I pass the Alpha's office, his offers door is slightly open. I hear uncle James, Kim's father our beta talking. "We have to tell her Christian! We can not keep this from her any longer!" I overhear him say to the Alpha Christian. I'm not one to eavesdrop so I carry on my way.

I wonder who they are talking about? If I stayed I could have heard more but that would be rude and that seems to be a private matter even though the door was open a little.

In no time I'm in front of Kim's room. I knock on the door, seconds later Kim opens the door and is standing there in her pj's and a big smile on her face. She gives me a huge and lets me in. "You were so amazing out there today!" she says to me with the biggest smile ever. "I swear you will be moving up to 4th best fighter of our age! You rocked out there!". She's so excited she forgets that she was right by my side rocking it herself. "oh, you flatter me so my dear Kim. You know I love compliments so much but your forgetting that you were right by my side rocking it just as good, if not better than me the only amazing one here is you my BFF!" I explain to her." No you don't Missy!! You were badass out there today and you are going to take the compliment. Like it or not my BFF!" she says back to me one finger pointed to me with her other hand on her hip. Damn this girl she knows how I hate compliments. She knows me too well. Arms crossed over my chest I just give her a side roll.

I wanting to change the subject start asking her about our party. After working out everything for the party we relax in her bed watching Netflix and eating snacks. I love these times with my BFF. I only wish I had this with my mom too.
