Evan's point of view
When we heard the backdoor click closed and footsteps we stopped talking. Aidan kept a stony cold face. I turned back to face him
"You're not thinking straight right now. In the morning you'll regret everything" I tried whispering since I didn't want all the pack members hearing our conversation.
"If you keep saying that you'll be the one regretting you opened your mouth." I rolled my eyes. He was all talk, but not for long. Not until he really started missing Mia.
The Alpha stalked off and as soon as he left everybody started assembling the rogues’ bodies to burn them and the pack bodies to bury them. I was going to follow the Alpha when I was stopped by the pack doctor
"Are we out of supplies?" I asked as I saw him approaching me.
"No" I waited for him to get closer to me to speak. "It's about Mia"
"What about Mia" Confusion was clear on my face, she had just left, how could anything have happened so soon?
"She's leaving her mate" He seemed slightly out of breath
"And?"
"Well, any day now she's supposed to be going into heat. Her body is going to hate the fact that her mate doesn't want her and is going to punish her. If she doesn't mate with her mate when she goes into heat the effects on her body will get worse and worse every day and eventually, she will die." I stared at the short man for a few seconds,
"Let's hope that the Alpha comes to his senses fast enough" A look of confusion came over the doctor's face. I forgot that he didn't know they were mates. "Mia is Aidan's mate" His eyes widened.
"Oh dear" He covered his mouth "Oh, that is not good at all" He looked worried "Because Aidan is an Alpha, the effects are going to be that much worse. I'm not sure what type of effects are going to happen to her. I was supposed to monitor her until her mate mated with her, but she left."
"All we can do is wait for Aidan to realize he needs her and save her in time, if not Aidan will just have to live with Olivia. I hate to say this, but at least he has a backup girl." Just then I heard Aidan's booming voice call out for me. The doctor gave me a curt nod before running off. When I got to the Alpha's office, Aidan was hunched over his desk looking at a map. I was hoping that he was going to go look for Mia, since that seemed like the best thing to do at the moment but when I approached him, Aidan asked
"Where should we look for them first" Startled I asked,
"Who?"
"The pack members" he growled at me. "I already told you, I don't need her"
"Fine whatever" I peered over his shoulder at the map. "I say we call all the neighboring packs to see if they have seen any wolves from our pack and to give us a call if they see them."
"Good idea!" Aidan looked way too happy considering the fact that his mate just left him. If he wasn't going to be looking for his mate now, I was sure he would later. For now, though only time would be able to tell.
