“You know what? I used to think that maybe you are better than this.” Elle said as she scanned him up and down. She sighed before looking back at the book that she was reading. She always believed that this guy has limitless potential.
“I am.” Colin answered with his chest up seemingly proud of what he just said but they both know that he cannot put any proof to his answer. She decided to just ignore this egotistical person in front of her.
“Hmm.” She hummed as she continued reading completely ignoring Colin. Colin is not your typical guy, even Elle knows that. Colin has countless potential he’s got guts, he’s not a genius but he’s not stupid either but what she likes the most about him is that he is a very patient and focused person. That when he is focused in something he would not stop doing it unless someone broke his rhythm off of it and if he can use that power of focus on something better than continuously scrolling though f*******: maybe he can be in a better place and has a better kind of thinking.
“You don’t believe that I am better than this?” a tone of hurt can be heard from Colin’s voice. She looked up at him but once again, a smug look is evident on his face. She sighed then looked back to her book, she flipped to the next page but was stopped but Colin’s hand. It did fold the page which made Elle look up at him with a serious murder face.
“Take your hands off my book or I will cut those off and put them on the lantern this Halloween Colin.” she threatened him before going back to reading.
He sat in front of her just observing her reading. She sighed and flipped to another page.
“I believe that you are better than this Colin, I believe that you have lots of capabilities, skills, and countless more of possibilities. But if you don’t try it then it’s never going to work. Do you think theories are proven by writing them? Theories are proven by experimenting, by trying them out, by seeing if it is going to work. If you do not try then you’ll never know if it is going to work. I believe you even if you are one egotistical person. I believe that you can do better than being lazy. I’ve always believed in you, because if I don’t then I wouldn’t even be here telling you this.” She looked up at him and smiled before closing her book and walking out of the library.
