" hi good day" Alexis said.
" Umm yeah, so I saw the both of you and I don't know if you can really help me out because am lost sort of, I and my friend", he said and pointed towards a young man as well who was now walking towards our direction.
"Okay, so where are you going to or better still what are you looking for?" Alexis asked while I just stood looking at him without saying a word.
" Not that we are lost per say or we have a specific place we want to go. The thing is that we are new and just need someone Who can show us around Palaska." He said now glanced at me and smiled but I rather still had my frown on.
"Oh okay, now I get. You are newbies to Palaska and umm you want us to show you around", Alexis said.
" Yes exactly"he said and then the other folk who he claimed is his friend also joined us.
" Good day ladies" he said and brought a handshake, Alexis gave her hand but I just stared at him without shaking. Alexis looked at me and I guessed she was wondering what's going through my mind.
" Ummm I feel you ain't really comfortable around us is it?" The first folk who had first spoken to us said.
" No not so, she's is not in that good a mood because she lost someone very dear to her", Alexis said quickly while looking at me.
" Oh, am so sorry about that."he said said looking at me but still I said nothing.
" Thank you " Alexis chipped in.
" Oh my bad sorry I think I have forgotten something important and which is I haven't told you ladies my name. Okay my name is Harry and I came in from nukeville"he said smiling.
" And i am Jared, we are very close friends and workers as well" the other folk said.
" Oh am Alexis and she is..." Alexis was still talking when I cut her short.
" Annette" I said almost immediately before Alexis could complete her statement. alexis stared at me confused and shocked.
" Oh finally she breaks the silence, what a beautiful name and voice you have there" said Harry with a smile but I only made a pretence chuckle for a second.
" Okay so can we begin the tour?" Jared said
" Yup we can" alexis said with a weak smile still staring at me but I said nothing and just turned to walk.
"So ummm how are you Annette?" Harry said to me as he was standing beside me as we walked. But I said nothing and kept on walking with my head held high. I could see the desperation in his eyes and I wasn't going to give in so easily because he doesn't seem so trustworthy.
" I really am no bad, am just new around and want to make new friends and I feel you are really nice but just restraining yourself from having a conversation with me" he said but still I gave no reply and i just walked silently.
" Wait stop, stop please listen to me. There is a spider on your head" he said with fright all over his face as he used his hand as well to signal me to stop my movement.
" Spider?? Oh jeez, where is it?" I said now really scared because if there's one thing am crazy scared about then it's a spider.
" Just stand still, it's close to the center of your head" he said. Now Jared and Alexis stopped their conversation as well and now stared at the drama Harry and I were acting.
" Please help me take it off I beg you" I said joining my hands together as i pleaded.
"Don't worry, am gonna take it off right now, all I need from you is your trust and stillness"he said as he drew closer to me and taking his hand closer to my head.
" Yes I trust you and I promise am gonna stay still as long as you just take that monster off my head." I said.
"Just be mute and allow me take it off", he said and i immediately cut my tongue literally. He brings his hands more closer to my head and I then closed my eyes so tightly as he drew more closer. Then abruptly I felt his hands fall on my head slightly brushing my hair with his hand. I couldn't help but scream and jump.
"It's fine, I just dabbed it off your hair, calm down" he said holding me by my right hand gently.
" Seriously??" I said now opening my eyes slowly and sluggishly.
" Yes it's off" he said and all of a sudden Alexis and Jared burst into laughter and Harry followed soothe.
" What's wrong, why are all of you laughing?" I asked looking around myself and my body checking if maybe I had something hilarious but I saw nothing.
" There was actually no spider on your head" Alexis said still laughing.
"What, are you kidding me?", I said giving Harry a ferocious scowl while he was still laughing.
" Yes there was nothing on your head", Jared said as well pressing his stomach as he laughed.
"You are such a punk, I swear to God am gonna kill you if not today then some other day" I said and zoomed off leaving them behind, though I heard them calling my name.
" Alexis if you know what is good for you, you better join me now" I wailed as I stride faster. Soon I saw her beside me also rushing and walking fast in other to meet up with my pace.
"Calm down Alina, it was just a joke"Alexis said.
"Did you just a say a joke?" I roared angrily and turned looking at Alexis and stopped walking.
" Please calm down Annette" Harry said as he finally reached me after he ran.
"Don't even dare to talk to me you punk, or am gonna kill you more sooner than I plan" I wailed at him.
" Am sorry, it was just a joke. I noticed you were frowning all through and decided to let out the whole tension and that's why I did that, am sorry"he said.
"Sorry indeed, you used me as a piece of mockery and you stand there telling it's just a joke right?" I said.
" Am so sorry if it hurt you but that wasn't the intention. Am really sorry please forgive me"he said and knelt down.
" Please Ali... Umm Annette forgive him, he is very remorseful" Alexis said.
" You better shut up your mouth and not impediment. Follow me right now let's go home", I said and left Harry still kneeling on the floor and Alexis quickly followed me.
******* Now back in the mansion*******
" Alina please calm down and too being upset please. It was just a joke you didn't need to react that way" Alexis said .
"Joke right?? I don't blame you because you aren't the one who that punk mocked that's why you call it a joke and after all you enjoyed it because I saw how you were laughing so hard" I said.
" Come on Alina stop being all tight up, we both know it was funny", she said and began to Chortle a little.
" You better shut your mouth" I roared now looking at her sternly and abruptly stopped pacing the room as I was. She immediately placed her hand on her lips as though clipping then with her fingers.
"Aha Alina when did you change your name because I never knew your name is Annette. I have been with you all his years and you didn't open up to me the truth that your name is Annette as well" Alexis said looking as me with a devious look.
" Don't be silly, I lied to him because I don't trust that Harry dude, he doesn't seem so real to me. I don't know why though but it's just a gut feeling" I said .
" Huh?? For real?" Alexis said with broadened eyes
