CHRIS CALLED MITCH and made an appointment for the following week; then he called Mickey.
“Were you able to get off early?” he said.
“Yes. Ted and I will meet you at the doctor’s office at four thirty as planned.”
“Very good. I’ll be there, and before you ask, I saw the doctor briefly at lunchtime, so he knows the score.”
“Good show,” Mickey said.
“Good show?”
“I guess we’ve been watching too many English movies,” Mickey said.
“Very funny. See you there at four thirty.”
“Yeah, bye.”
