Cottage~ Bethan Gruder The Haven Elfmoon, 4417 Bethan painted Lord Micah first. Naturally, his portrait took the longest. Learning to coax a sketch into breathing with the colors of life required extraordinary patience. Paints and canvas, now plentiful at the Haven, allowed her to give each portrait a life of its own. She brought the images from her mind into being as surely as if she’d given birth to them. The more care she put into a portrait, the more it responded to her. Each of her creations retained its bond with her, a bond not broken by time or distance. Bethan set down her brush and rubbed her hands together until feeling returned to her fingers.
