“One hour.” Maria said as she opened the door.

I didn’t expect to have another hour today to myself to roam around the yard especially after what happened last night, I tried to ignore her but people like Hailey are hard to ignore and she got on my last nerves, I knew she was lying when she said that she had seen Darius’s daughter before.

Natalie and I looked exactly alike, there is no way she had seen Natalie, it was a lie, and after dinner, I didn’t see Nathan, it was not my business yet I could not stop thinking about how he spoke to Hailey.

Was this love marriage or they were getting married for their pack, like Luca and I wanted to do but in this case, a part of me liked Luca, and I had many conversations with him, a part of me even fell for him and he left me all alone for Natalie.

A warm voice sliced through my thoughts bringing me back to reality

“I’m watching you so don’t even think of doing anything stupid.” Maria said.

“I won’t.” I mumbled, she was right behind me as I headed into the garden and a wave of relief washed over me, I felt better, as my eyes scanned around the room.

Four guards by the door, there were some guards walking around the garden and I noticed three more guards standing in between the trees, there was no escape, those guards hiding by the trees, it was misleading, I could try escaping thinking no one is watching me.

It’s obvious it will be impossible to leave during the day, the day light was enough and the guards and I doubt I will be allowed anywhere without Maria, my eyes darted to her and her frown deepened.

“Why do you hate me Maria?.” I asked. “I didn’t ask for your Alpha to save me, he should have let me die in the woods, no one would have blamed it for it, I didn’t ask for you to help him, all you do is stare at me and frown.” I mumbled against my breath and she didn’t speak.

I was hoping she will let me on anything, at least tell me why she hates my father, I know her hate for me came form him, tell me what he did

“You have no idea what he did to our clan and Nathan.” She asked and I didn’t speak. “You don’t know.” She said with more certainty and I gave her a nod.

“I don’t get involved in Alpha politics and my father never believed we will be the ones to take care of his clan, it was for me to get married and my husband will take over and Natalie will get married too, and her husband will handle the clan along with mine and when we have kids, it goes the same way.” I stated.

“Natalie.” She asked.

“My twin sister.” I whispered against my breath and her eyes widened in shock, she behaved as thought I said the worst thing, she behaved like being a twin was a curse.

Maria didn’t utter any word, yet her eyes filled with darkness before she took a step away from me and she slipped into the house, I didn’t dare follow her and I knew for a fact that, she was sure no one will let me get past where I was.

My eyes closed for a second, I could feel the sun beaming on my skin, when I heard the sound of footsteps and a familiar perfume filled my nostrils.

“The alleged daughter of Darius.” A voice spoke and a sign escaped my lips, all I wanted is some time alone to be able the myself, I don’t need it.

My eyes snapped open and my eyes caught Hailey, she had her lips tainted with red lipstick and a blue dress hugged her curves and I gave her a smile.

“What?” She asked. “Do you think I should be scared of you because of your father has done, come on, I don’t care what he did to Nathan and his family, I certainly don’t think you are his blood daughter, I doubt you are.” She mumbled against her breath.

“What are you here?” I asked. “Don’t you have anything better to do than talk to a prisoner, I think you are scared Hailey, I am his daughter, I could show you my mark, are you worried he will come and ruin your chances of getting married to Nathan, he will have you dead for talking to his daughter rudely.” I asked

That was only a fantasy, my father didn’t care enough to do any of that, maybe for Natalie he will do that but not for me, I just wanted her to leave me alone.

She pressed her lips against each other and hiss falls out of it.

“You are nothing but a prisoner and you stay the f**k away from Nathan, just because you are in his room doesn’t mean anything, I love him and he loves him.” She said and I nodded, I knew any little word will lead to her speaking again and that’s the last thing I needed

I didn’t wait for her to speak, instead I took a step away from her and I headed back into the house, I settled on the bed when my eyes caught a bottle of pills by the side table and a note.

My hands found its place to the pills, I knew what it was, it was the same thing mom took when she killed herself, I could I not know when father reminded me of it so much, the name pulled memories back in to my mind.

My breath hitches.

I felt a wave of shiver run down my spine when I read the note
