XAVIER’S POV
I shut out the loud noise, and inched further into the room. Zane’s face was stoic like he wasn’t fighting the urge to strangle her.
We didn’t hit women, that was an unspoken rule. However, there was a dent in our “mate’s” record. She was going to pay for that.
“Do you want to go ahead?” I asked, breaking the silence.
Zane shook his head.
I stilled, taking in her countenance. There was something unnerving about her. She might be wolfless or even compromised.
However, there was more to Scarlet. Like a scary secret I’d rather ignore than want to find out. Except that I was going to find out.
If there was something the Castillo triplets lived by, then it’ll be facing death head on, and still conquering it.
We didn’t become the most feared Lycan Kings by bowing to uncomfortable situations. I wasn’t going to start with a weak mate.
I circled her, and her shoulders slouched in defeat. That was a way to gain control, it was a tool I used against my enemy.
Even though this one wasn’t particularly an enemy. Okay, okay maybe she was. Albeit, she was our mate.
I crouched right in front of her, and she looked away. I grabbed her chin, and redirected it to me. “Look at me when I’m in front of you.”
She nodded frantically. Her eyes clouded in fear.
“Why did you try to leave, sweet chaos?”
Sweet chaos that was the perfect description for someone that was hellbent on driving us mad on the first day.
First, she denied being Diaz’s first daughter. In one swing of events, she tried to run away. And now, she attempted another escape?
I was going to let her find out herself that nobody runs from the Castillo triplets. We own everything. Everyone wanted a Favour from us, including the wolves.
My wolf pushed out again, in a bid to search for her wolf. ‘I feel something.’
I pushed back the urge to hiss at his hope. I’d never seen my wolf this skeptical about a woman.
The Castillo brothers didn’t commit. Love was an illusion that existed as far as the sun. It was only useful for a while, then it disappeared and came back in due time.
We had our harem of women, princesses and Lunas who’d do just about anything, anything at all to share our bed with us.
Oh, we don’t deny the ladies the comfort of being with the most sought after Lycan kings. But there was a limit to that, one that was reserved for only our breeder.
Any woman who carried our seed won’t survive it. Especially when the said woman is a wolfless Omega.
“I am not the chosen one!” She spat, her voice seething with defiance.
I nodded. “We’ll see about that.” I pushed myself up, and sauntered towards the door.
By the time I got to my suite, Celeste was splayed on the bed, dressed in a red robe that did justice to be curves.
My d**k hardened. Even so my wolf push out, but my wolf pushed out.
I looked away. “Get out of my room.”
Her countenance went from one hundred, to a zero. Celeste sat up on the bed. “Are you throwing me out of your suit.”
“I need to clear my head. You can always come.” I said dismissively.
Celeste let out a disgruntled sigh. “I hope this has nothing to do with that b***h?”
My wolf perked his head, anger throbbing in his veins. “Celeste!” My vibe was steady, but Celeste of all people knew it was a warning.
She rolled her eyes, racing her hands to show surrender. “Fine. I’ll be back.”
The minute she stepped out of my suite, memories flooded into my mind. Scarlets face etched in my mind.
It was one thing to be with a woman you shared the mate bond with. And a whole different ballgame to find it that she was wolfless.
I paced the length of my room. Oh f*****g goodness. Of all the things I had to envision, this wasn’t a part of it.
Ringgggg!
The sound of my phone ringing tone dragged me out of my reverie. I did the phone out of my pocket, and a string of mumbled cuss words slipped out of my tongue.
I pressed the phone to my ears, “Yes?”
“Alpha Xavier, we have a little bit of problem. We need you join a meeting.”
