“Mr. Darien, something terrible has happened.” She sounded beyond upset.
“Tell me.”
After taking a few seconds, she continued. “Mrs. Winters has been killed.”
“What?” he exclaimed.
“I went to Olivia’s apartment to see if there was any new mail and to pick up a few things to send to her mom’s house. When I got there, it was covered in police tape and a couple of cops were standing outside talking to some of Olivia’s neighbors.
