CHAPTER 29It dawned on Miles that he had no car to take to his rendezvous in Chicago. He called the dealership where his mangled wreck had been towed and was told that the insurance adjuster hadn’t been there yet, but it appeared the car was very likely totaled. Miles asked to be transferred to the sales department.
The salesperson checked their inventory and described two possible candidates. She offered to come pick him up and bring him to the dealership’s used car lot. He agreed, and she pulled up in front of his house twenty minutes later. The two options were both 2015-model Camrys. He chose the silver one, which had the lowest mileage.
