Proposal

1010 Words
It was indeed weird for trolls to listen to humans since they were quite gigantic. But it could have been a possibility which Rin couldn’t ignore since they were afraid of fire. In fact fire was their natural enemy so the schemer who planned all this must have either been a fire type mage or must have got the help of a fire mage. It was evident from the fact that both the Ogre Village was also set in fire and the human settlement too to which they had recently escaped to. “This is really bothersome...”, Rin sighed. It was not an easy task to protect all the ogres since any human would have the same mindset as that of Ryk and would first think of attacking rather than thinking about friendship. Rin started to think of something that could help him as well as the ogres too when he suddenly realized something. “Hmm, I have a proposal for you all... if you accept it, I can guarantee your safety. But if you don’t accept it, then I will leave right away.” Rin didn’t want to get involved in any mess but he couldn’t leave someone in need either so he offered a proposal that was for the sole benefit of the ogres. But the decision lied in their hands. Either they would trust Rin and survive or they would try and fight against fate with their own power. The ogres weren’t weak by any means but they were outnumbered which was a fatal disadvantage that they had. “Can we know what the proposal is?”, the chief of the ogres asked right away. “Well, you would be agreeing to be my slaves. That’s it. You have to do everything I say, I guarantee that I will keep you all safe.” “What!!?”, one of the chief General ogres immediately stood up and shouted quite loudly. “You want us to be your slaves!!? Never!!!? We won’t serve under any human even in our wildest dreams!!” Many of the ogres followed his lead and said the same thing again and again. Rin didn’t say anything in between and just waited until they calmed down which happened within a short span as soon as the elders asked them to be quiet. Rin then opened his mouth and uttered a very few words. “Well, it’s not like your lives are my responsibility. I wouldn’t even care if you lived or die... I just gave you a proposal, if you don’t accept it, then as I said I will leave immediately.” The ogres who were earlier supporting the chief General Ogre suddenly lowered their heads. They knew that they were being too impulsive but couldn’t help it since asking for s*****y was something that would hurt their pride. And not only that, they despised humans the most so when they heard that they would be serving a human, they couldn’t resist their anger. “Then, can you give us sometime to think on this?”, the chief of the tribe asked this after thinking about this carefully for a while. Rin smiled and said, “Yes why not? I will give you a time of 1 whole day. If you can’t decide within that time then I will leave as soon as possible!” He said this and asked the assembly to dismiss. He walked towards an empty area and immediately said, “Build normal hut!” He imagined a small wooden hut while saying this so a hut suddenly appeared out of nowhere! It was somewhat similar to that of the guys of the human Settlement that was being occupied by the ogres but he had added some extraordinary features from the modern earth. There was a stove and electric fan including many other electric appliances. He used lightning magic as a source of electricity and started living comfort for sometime. All the ogres were now discussing among themselves quite seriously about the matter at hand when the ground suddenly started to tremor. It was as if many bulls were running towards the settlement who were causing an artificial earthquake in order to lure all of them out. But it was pointless since Rin was already present there who understood such a foolish tactics easily. He immediately walked out of his house that he had just built and stood in front of the settlement. “Long distance vision!”, he said it in his mind and immediately he gained the ability to look at a far distance. “I knew it...”, he immediately said that after looking at the gigantic trolls marching their way. “Instead of bulls, they are using trolls.” Is what he said. “I don’t want to kill them...”, he immediately made his mind to just subdue them without actually killing them. Even if the trolls were foolish and didn’t have much intelligence and didn’t know what revenge was they were still living creatures after all! “Tsk, paralyze!”, he said the same word again in order to paralyze all of them instantly the same way he did for the ogres but it had no effect. “Huh? Didn’t I just say a spell and imagined perfectly?”, he questioned himself on seeing the failure he did. “The heck!!? PARALYSE!!”, he repeated again and yet once more the spell didn’t work. The trolls couldn’t run with a fast speed due to their giant size but still the thing that Rin was doing was time consuming which had already allowed the trolls to come quite closer to the settlement. “Damn, what’s happening!?” He thought of using another spell since he was already annoyed and didn’t have any other alternative as of now. “FIRE BLAST!!!”, it was the same spell which had destroyed a whole Abyss with just one blast, but unfortunately this spell too didn’t work. “Oh come on man! What the f**k is going on!!?” While he was busy thinking about this, the ogres were trying to run away in order to save themselves. Some of them decided to face the trolls but the fear made them to retreat right away. “Lord Rin! Please help us!!” Rin was just hearing them and kept his head lowered. The ogres thought that since they hadn’t agreed to proposal, Rin wasn’t helping them so they shouted and said right away, “Listen Lord Rin! We agree to the proposal!!! Please protect us!” “...” TO BE CONTINUED...
