“What are you looking at? Did you think that this was an attack spell?” It was a mere 6th Tier climate influencing spell that allowed the rain clouds to accumulate and rain at the particularly location. He immediately undid the paralyse spell and asked all of them to gather. “I want to speak about something with you all...” The ogres who were initially frightened were now nervous since they couldn’t understand Ron’s intentions. Nevertheless, they all gathered as fast as they could. Their leader too came out and bowed following which everyone of them bowed one by one. It did seem a bit problematic that they were a bit hesitant to open up their hearts for him but he was ready to talk peacefully with them. “Okay listen... I haven’t come here to cause any trouble to you all!” The ogres nodded their heads as they didn’t want to offend him by any means possible. Because they were aware that if they were to anger him even by a slightest bit, he had the power to completely destroy their village in an instant. “So tell me, was this village built by you all?” The leader immediately nodded his head following which many others did while some of them shook their head as if they wanted to deny it. “Looks like you yourself are confused. Some are saying yes while others are saying no... tell me the truth! If I find any lies then I will burn this entire place along with you guys.” Ryo slowly mumbled in Rin’s ears, “Master... will you really do that?” Ryo wasn’t hesitant at all since he didn’t have any mercy towards the ogres since he believed the church but Rin would allow him to do as he pleased. “Not really...”, Rin replies in a low voice which was audible to Ryk only. However the ogres trembled the moment Rin said this since they were clearly lying about this. They immediately opened their mouths and said, “We are very sorry! We lied to you, this place was built by humans but when we came it seemed as if they were all gone so we decided to occupy this place.” “Huh? They were gone?” Rin knew it very well that this Settlement was built by humans and had expected them to say that they had killed the humans and occupied the place. But when they said about the humans leaving on their own, he was confused. “Why would they leave like that?” He couldn’t understand as even if the area was quite near to the forest, it was a fertile land so no one would just leave it. He didn’t even find trace of any other energy or any other beast to have come who hunted them. “Hmm, then tell me, when did you arrive at this place?” They answered immediately, “2 weeks ago. We were chased by some trolls so we decided to hide here.” “Trolls!!?” “Yes!” Rin was now even more puzzled the moment he heard the trolls involvement in this. He couldn’t figure out at all because trolls weren’t supposed to be near this area. Their place was totally in the opposite area. “It’s weird...”, Rin immediately said. On hearing this, one of the female Ogre also said it loudly, “It is indeed weird.” Suddenly all the attention went towards her. All the ogres were looking at her with a harsh look and her own husband was staring at her. Then he immediately looked towards Rin and bows down while kneeling on the ground. “P-please forgive her young lord! She didn’t have any such intentions to interfere your talks... please I beg of you!” Other ogres also wanted to say this but they weren’t ready to sacrifice themselves for someone else of their own tribe. Rin didn’t mind it but he was intrigued at what the female Ogre had just said. “Interesting... you! Come here!” He immediately asked the female Ogre to come and stand in front of him after pointing out finger. Her husband pleaded as he thought Rin would kill him for such insolence but Rin has some different plans. She stood up while her legs trembled. She managed to walk somehow near Rin and stood exactly in front of him. Other female ogres covered the eyes of their children since they didn’t want their kids to see someone being brutally killed. “Y-yes lord...” He looked at her properly and then immediately said, “You said it was weird, can you describe it exactly what you meant by that?” “No no! My old I will never use that word! Please spare me!!” She didn’t even hear everything and started to beg for mercy. Even her husband ran out from the group and came in front of Rin. He too pleaded him to forgive her but the other ogres thought that both of them would be executed. “My lord, she is pregnant, please forgive her... bestow mercy upon her...” Rin was totally asking something else while they were speaking something else. He immediately repeated his question, “Just tell me what you felt was weird about the trolls?” She immediately looked at him and said, “While I was running with everyone... I got a chance to look back at our previous village...” “Hmm and?” “At that time I happened to see a troll rushing towards the field area... it... it had some weird stuff in its neck!” Rin was intrigued by her explanation and felt as if he had come closer to the answer he had been finding. “You mean, it had some sort of collar on it’s neck?” “Collar...? Yes maybe something like that...” Rin immediately understood that it was the work of a human or some other highly intelligent race who had managed to capture a troll and then made it their slave. Then they ordered them to attack the ogres to destroy their homes so that they could occupy it later. He had finally concluded that there was a third party involved in this case. “Hmm, okay that’s it. You can go back.” “Eh?”, the ogres were confused and so was her husband. They immediately did go back and sit at their initial position but everyone had a puzzled expression on their faces. “I have to find out about that person...” TO BE CONTINUED...
