Chapter 15

----Alex----

I tightened my arm around Astrid's body, knowing we both would have to wake up and start our days, I wasn't ready. Astrid was going over to my parents house today to plan her luna ceremony and she would be gone most of the day. I had a lot of things to plan before the group gathering, which I didn't want to do. I knew how important this day was for both of us but I just wanted to lay here in bed with my mate in my arms but I knew I couldn't.

I buried my nose into her hair and took in the amazing scent of lavender and vanilla. This woman had such a hold on me that it was honestly scary but I also loved it. she made me so happy, I didn't even realize I had any sadness until she popped into my life and made my world so much brighter.

I soon felt her wiggle against me as she began waking me up, which also woke me up at her ass rubbed against my c**k. I growled lowly against her neck which gained me a soft sound from her.

"I can't tell if your doing that on purpose my love or if you're just waking up" I cooed and pressed up against her.

"mmm.. both?" She giggled softly, her voice still sleepy.

"as much as I'd love to take your right now, we can't. we have to get up so we can start the day" I sighed and kissed her head before letting her go, to which she sighed.

"not even a quickie?"

"Sweetheart, if you haven't noticed I don't do quickies" I chuckled

"fair point.. later?"

"Oh absolutely, I plan on enjoying this sweet body of yours.." I cooed and ran my hand down her side to her ass where I rubbed and gripped it softly. the sounds she made, made me right hard. I hate being good.. how badly I want to be bad...

"go on baby, go get ready" I cooed and nudged her gently. Astrid groaned at me then lazily crawled out of bed and headed into the bathroom. even with bedhead and her clothes a mess, she was the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.

When Astrid came out of the bathroom she headed into the closet to get dressed while I went into the bathroom to do my business and brush my hair. I needed to get a hair cut soon, If I have time today, I might run into town

I came back out and Astrid was in a lovely light purple sundress that hugged her perfect curves, oh.. I was not going to survive today. she noticed the way I was looking at her and grinned

"going to eye f**k me all day?" She giggled with her hand on her hip

"Oh honey, if I had my choice I would be f*****g you all day" I growled lowly and moved over to her, putting my arms around her waist.

"mmm.. easy there Alpha, you said so yourself we have a busy day" she teased while rubbing her hands on my chest

damn it... I sighed softly. "You're right, but the moment you get home, I don't care if I'm busy. you come in my office, I will stop whatever I'm doing to enjoy this body of your.. I want to make you into a puddle on my desk" I purred and I watched her eyes darken and I could smell her arousal. "now go, before I can't hold back from bending you over the bed.."

Astrid knew I would keep my word so she quickly kissed me and wiggled from my grasp. "I'm looking forward to it baby, I love you and I'll text you the moment I get to your moms!" she hurried to the door.

"hey! I have William standing by the front door waiting to take you, okay?" I called and she nodded with a lovely smile before going out the door. I was going to miss her.

After Astrix left I got dressed and headed to my office to make some phone calls and get caught up on my emails. I was about halfway through what I needed to get done when there was a knock at the door. I lifted my head and sighed softly, "come in" I called and in walked my sister, looking slightly anxious. she needed something, it was the only time she bugged me when I was working. "want is it, Morgan?" I asked curiously

"I mean, nothing really just a couple things I wanted to ask you was all" she answered and sat down at the chair across from me.

"what is it?" I asked, leaning back in my chair.

"This up coming gathering, anyone can attend right?"

"anyone from the pack families, yes. why, do you want to go?" I asked, raising my brow.

Morgan nodded, "yeah, I'd like to. maybe my mate will be there, and if not; I can at least be there for you and Astrid since the Mountain pack is invited. if things get heated I can get Astrid out of there and she'll be with another girl"

She had a point, if things got hairy I would want William and Zack with me. Even though Morgan can fight, she's not one for violence, so even if someone stopped them she could kick ass before getting her and Astrid to a safe place. The other big thing is I would hope she found her mate as well.

"Alright, you can come. But, if you do find your mate please do what you can to still help me keep Astrid safe. I know it's selfish but, just in public. If you wanna run back to his room after, go for it.. I just want everyone to be safe" I said gently to her

Morgan gave me a soft smile, "of course, Astrid is my sister now and I want to keep her safe too. she's my priority, all of you are. plus I'd rather have the alone time with my potential mate then all that public stuff" she laughed.

"You say that, but it's a lot more difficult than you think" I laughed "just you wait"

"I just think you and Astrid are horn-dogs. you two are always all over each other, every alone moment you two get" Morgan rolled her eyes then smiled at me.

"hmm not always, though a lot of the time yes. It's very weird for us to be having this conversation but trust me, one day you'll understand" I laughed

"Yeah we'll see" Morgan laughed. "I'll let you get back to work. I might head over to mom and dad's so I can help with planning instead of being lazy around here"

"Sounds like a great idea, I'm sure Astrid will love having you there. it'll be good bonding for all of you" I commented. she came around the desk and gave me a half hug before leaving. Having my sister come bug me was a nice distraction but now it was time to focus and finish up my work.

This is so overwhelming... so much stuff to learn in such a short time.. I don't know if I can do this. oh goddess help me..

Stop freaking out, you're over thinking it. Harper assured me. I knew I was but I had so much responsibility coming for me, being Luna was a very big deal and I had no idea what I was doing.

"You look a little green.." Morgan whispered to me.

"I feel green.. your mom is so good at this stuff and I've lived in a basement my whole life. I've never thought I'd ever be in any position of power let alone be Luna of a pack. I'm so scared I'm going to let Alex and all of you down, including the pack.." I played with my hair a little.

Kathryn had stepped away to go get some snacks and drinks while I looked over all the things I needed to know for the ceremony.. just the ceremony, there was so much more I needed to do. I didn't even hear her come back so when she spoke I jumped a little.

"don't worry dear, a lot of the stuff we're going to go over now and after this, it's all formality stuff. What makes a great Luna is personality. How caring she is, her loyalty, how she handles under pressure, how she holds her Alpha up when it's hard for him to stand on his own. What they don't tell you in all of these binders and books is, you're the back bone of the whole pack. You help keep the Alpha and the family in check, you are what give the people of the pack strength. The Alpha is your strength too, he holds you up when you need him to. You aren't alone, dear. And even though I wont be acting Luna anymore, you can always come to me for help. We're family, Astrid"

Kathryn's words made me tear up, she really was an amazing Luna. Her voice was soothing and she was so calm. what got me the most was her calling me family.. I just started crying and I couldn't help it.

"Oh honey, I didn't mean to make you cry" Kathryn quickly moved over to me and pulled me into a hug, holding me tightly.

"It's okay.. this is all just so new to me. Luna stuff aside.. I've never had a family or people who care about me. All of you do. You and Allen, Alex, Morgan, William, Zack.. you've all been so nice to me. I've never had a family before, I've never had people who cared" I sniffled and laid my head against her.

"You will always have people who care about you now, Astrid. you're not alone anymore, and you never will be again. we're all family" She soothed as Morgan came over and joined our hug.

Slowly I started to calm down and they both let me go. Morgan handed me some tissues for my nose and Kathryn dabbed away my tears with a napkin. "You're okay, sweetheart" Kathryn's voice was so soothing and motherly, I hoped I could be a Luna and a mother like she was. Kids weren't something I wanted right away but, one day and I hoped I was as good a mom as she is.

After finally calming down and hours of work, Kathryn, Morgan, and I finally had everything planned and ready to go. I was still very nervous about the whole thing but knowing I had so many people behind me did help me feel a little better.

"Are you two both heading back to the pack house then?" Kathryn asked as we finished packing things up from the table.

"I'm actually going to be heading back to my cabin for a few days. I talked with Alex and he agreed to let me come to the gathering so I was going to get things ready for that. Are you staying here tonight mom?"

"Kind of, Allen and I are going to have a date night tonight" Kathryn explained with a big smile.

"That's wonderful, I hope you both have a great time tonight" I commented, smiling as well. "I will be heading back to the pack house though, William should be here shortly to walk me back. Alex wants to make sure I'm safe, which I don't blame him given recent events and we haven't done training yet" I explained

"Thats smart, William will keep you safe. I had seen he walked you here this morning. He better come in and say hello this time" Kathryn crossed her arms across her chest with a grumpy face. As if on cue there was a knock at the door before, William walked into the room. He saw saw the look on her face and went a little pale while holding his hands up in defense.

"Please don't look at me like that, I would have come inside when I brought Astrid over but I had errands to run for Alex. Alpha related stuff, I promise" He assured her. Kathryn glared at him a second before moving over and pulling him into a hug.

"could have still popped your head into the room and said hello. I thought your mom and I raised you better" she laughed

"You did, I'm sorry" he said and hugged her back. I loved seeing how much of a family this group really was.

After some talking all of us left to go do other things. William and I headed to the pack house, Morgan headed to her place, and Kathryn was getting ready to spend time with her husband.

"Did you guys get everything done?"William asked, looking down at me.

I nodded, "yeah, right down to the color of the napkins" I laughed. "I guess it wouldn't have been so overwhelming if we had more time but, Kathryn is good at what she does. I hope I can be any where close to as good a Luna as she is"

"You will be, Astrid don't worry. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, just let things come to you naturally and be yourself" William rubbed my head a little

"What if being myself isn't enough?" I asked seriously

"It will be, and the only real way to have a true down fall is if you doubt yourself too much. Be confident in yourself and your abilities and you'll be perfectly fine" he gave me a reassuring smile and I couldn't help but smile as well with a little nod.

"You're right, thank you. I guess I'm just overwhelmed is all, ill do my best not to doubt myself"

As I was leaving the small gym in the basement I got hit with my favorite scent. I looked down the hall and smiled when I saw Astrid and William coming my way.

"Evertthing went well?" I asked

"Yeah, Everything will be ready in two days and then I'll be officially the Luna of Crimson moon pack" Astrid smiled at me as she hurried over to me and jumped onto me, which I quickly caught her and put her legs around my waist.

"I missed you too" I laughed, "I'm all sweaty, you know"

"I know, but I missed you"

"I'll uh, let you guys do your thing. I've got stuff to pack and get ready for the gathering. are you two going to be at training tomorrow?" William asked and I nodded

"Yes, both of us will be there so I can see what all Astrid naturally knows and what she needs to learn, as well as testing her strength and what not" I answered and adjusted my hold on Astrid's thighs.

"I'll see you both then" William commented and headed off back down the hall way.

once he was out of sight I looked down at the beautiful woman in my arms. "shower with me?" I asked and she eagerly nodded.

"Do you even have to ask?" She laughed and I grinned before carrying her off to our bed room. Once there I plopped her down on the bed and headed to the dresser so I could grab a change of clothes. I could feel her pouting behind me.

"What is it baby?" I asked, "did you hope I'd just carry you into the shower with all our clothes on?" I chuckled

"I mean, yeah kind of" she pouted.

"Well, undress and I'll carry you in there with us both naked" I commented and laid my clothes out before turning to her. she was already half undressed, making my mouth water. "well.. that was quick" my voice was huskier, my shorts were lifted with my erection.

I watched as Astrid finished undressing then licked my lips at the delicious sight before walking up to her and picking her up just how I had her while walking to our room. I heard her sigh as my c**k pressed against her core. "do you feel what you do to me.." I breathed and she nodded. I managed to get us into the shower and the water turned on without looking

"It's still going.. you really did miss me" Astrid giggled softly and laid her head on my shoulder.

"i really did.. its a good thing we did this in the shower" I chuckled and continued to hold my mate against me for a little longer before pulling my head back and kissing her gently. "do you think you can stand?" I asked and she nodded

"I think so"

I slowly slid free of her body then gently set her on her feet. I kept my hands on her hips to keep her steady until I knew she was good stand.

After taking the time to wash each other and get out of the shower, we both laid in bed in our pajamas. I held her close and kissed the top of her head while she talked about all the stuff that happened at my mom's.

"All and all I had a great day" she finished and tilted her head back to look up at me with a lovely smile.

"That's great baby, I'm happy you had a good time despite it being all work" I smiled back.

You two busy? Zack linked me

Just laying in bed and talking, why what's up? I asked

You two missed dinner again, I'm bringing up a pizza for you guys. I just didn't want to interrupt if you guys were... busy..

Nope, not busy. come on in I linked back to him while Astrid gave me a confused look

"Zack is bringing up some food, we missed dinner. oops" I laughed and kissed her nose before there was a knock and we both sat up. "come in" I called.

Zack walked in with a large pizza box, it smelled fresh so he must have had it just delivered. "I just got pepperoni since I wasn't sure what Astrid would like" he shrugged and laid it on the bed for us.

"Have you eaten?" Astrid asked

"Not yet, mine is downstairs. I also missed Dinner" Zack explained. "I pulled and extra patroll and got home about an hour ago. just keeping busy" He shrugged.

Seeing how much Zack had changed saddened me. He used to be so full of life and excitement and now he was all doom, gloom, and fighting. He used to keep his dark hair a little long but now it's short all the way around and his once more relaxed outfits of jeans and a t-shirt were now relaxed with more form fitting black outfits. Zack and I had always been super close but now he kept everyone a good distance from him. the fact he came to talk to me the other day was shocking.

"oh.. well, do you want to eat up here with us? hang out a little?" Astrid asked with a soft look on her face.

"No, thank you for the offer though Astrid. I'll let you two, do your thing" and with that, Zack turned and left without another word. Astrid looked at me with a sad look on her face.

I went to speak but Astrid spoke first. "Morgan told me what happened.. that he's never been the same. Is he always so distant and to the point now?" She asked.

"Unfortunately. plus, taking over as Gamma changed him as well. being in charge of patrols and all the warrior wolves, he's become so much more serious. truthfully, I hardly know him now" I sighed and shook my head.

Astrid pulled the box closer and opened the lid "Well.. hopefully something good happens and he warms back up a little. you all deserve to be happy" She smiled and handed me a slice.

"Thank you, baby. I hope so too" I smiled and took the slice before she got her own.

we sat quietly whole eating and watching television. when we finished we settled down into bed and quickly fell asleep in each other's arms
