Chapter 14

----Alex----

I was sitting on the couch in my swim trunks while I waited for Astrid to get changed. She had seemed in a really great mood when I saw her and I hoped that would continue, I loved seeing her happy.

when the closet door to the closet opened and I looked up, my jaw hit the floor. The raven haired woman standing in front of me in just a black bikini was absolutely mouth watering. There was no hiding the tent currently being pitched in my swim trunks and I knew she could see it, which was confirmed for me when she looked me over and her dark blue eyes went even darker when she looked to my crotch.

"It's good to know you like my outfit" Astrid cooed before crossing the room to stand in front of me. "we could just skip the swimming and do other things.." she licked her bottom lip and that was all I needed. I reached up and pulled her down to straddle my lap, my hands on her hips.

After about an hour of fooling around and taking the time to wash up, Astrid and I finally headed out back to the pool. "sup love birds, Morgan mentioned something about swimming so I figured we could grill out and what not" William said as he looked back at us. leave it to my sister to make this an event.

"thanks for cooking, Will. we're actually both pretty hungry"

"Oh I'm sure, you two have been pretty busy" He laughed, letting us know our love making had been just about as loud as I had figured it would be.

"Yeah, we have. its been fun" I smiled down at an embarrassed looking Astrid. I leaned down and kissed the top of her head. "why don't you lay down our towels, I'm sure Morgan is excited to talk to you. she's hardly sitting still as is" I commented while nodding to my sister who was basically bouncing out of her seat.

"Okay, I'm sure she wants to question me about.. stuff.." Astrid said and walked away. I couldn't help but watch her hips and perfect ass as she did.

"You know, just because she's your mate doesn't mean you should eye f**k her like that" William laughed and I smiled.

"I can't help it.. ever since we mated, I can't keep my eyes off of her and I never want to be away from her or.. out of her.. It has to be the mate bond. She always has her hands on me too. Not that I'm complaining" I laughed and looked over what he was making.

"Well, It's a good thing your mom is going to be with her starting next week or you would never get any of your Alpha duties done. speaking of that, did you read that email this morning?" William asked, while flipping a couple of the burgers.

"which one?" I asked, seeing as I had several this morning and I really needed him to be more specific.

"the one about some local pack get together before this winters summit." he answered and I groaned

"Yeah, I read it. I wasn't sure i wanted to bring it up to Astrid just yet, I wasn't sure if she would be up for that since we haven't done her ceremony yet and mom wanted at least a little time with her before group things like that, and I'd like to train with her a little before too. make sure she can handle her own in an emergency.." I rubbed the back of my head a little, I was still nervous about Astrid getting attacked again.

"I understand your worry especially since I saw the other packs that had been invited"

"what? did I miss that part?" I asked

"apparently so. it's us, Blue moon, Celestial moon, Jasper moon, Jade moon, and.. Mountian."

I growled lowly, of course they were invited. Now I really didn't want to go, I didn't want Astrid to have to see anyone from that pack again. After all the crap they did to her, I never wanted them to darken her life again.

Astrid must have felt that I was upset because I suddenly felt the tingling embrace as she wrapped her arms around me from behind. I was instantly soothed of my anger, I was grateful for that.

"what is it, love? why are you upset?" She asked softly and kissed my back. I smiled and rubbed her hands slowly

"is it okay if we talk about it later? for now, why don't we all just have a good time" i asked her softly and she nodded

"as long as you're done being grumpy, if not, we should talk about it"

"I'm okay sweetheart" I smiled and turned to her. I caressed her cheek as I gazed down at her, my gaze only broken and I heard Morgan fake gagging. I looked over at her and glared, "get a room you two! not all of us have mates and get jealous!" She called over to us, making Astrid and myself laugh.

"Sorry!" Astrids called back with the most amazing smile. I loved seeing her happy.

I grinned and scooped her up into my arms, "I'm not sorry" I stuck my tongue out at Morgan who faked being shocked that I did that. I then kissed Astrid deeply before walking over to the pool.

"baby? we're getting pretty close to the pool" Astrid said, sounding a little worried.

"I'm aware, we're getting in" I chuckled and jumped into the pool with her in my arms, I laughed mid air as I heard her squeal before we splashed into the water.

After swimming, playing games, and eating; everyone was lounging by the pool. I had a lot of fun hanging out with William, Morgan, and Alex. I always loved seeing how everyone acted with each other but it also made me a little sad. having friends and having fun was always something I wanted while I was growing up but instead I spent everyday alone and if I wasn't alone I was getting beat up by someone. I tried not to focus on my past too much but sometimes the sadness would creep up on me, though the moment Alex would give me one of his dazzling smiles; I couldn't help but smile too and feel my sadness going away. These people were my family now, and they all seemed to care about me a great deal; I even hoped Zack did too even though he wasn't around much, but now I understood why.

Morgan was the first to leave, saying she wanted to get a shower and catch something on the television, then William left because he also had some stuff to do; which left just Alex and I.

Alex got up from his lounge chair to come lay on mine with me, wrapping his arms around me as he partial pulled me ontop of him.

"I had a lot of fun today, thank you for coming swimming with me.." I commented softly while rubbing small circles on his chest with my finger tip.

"Thank you for suggesting it, I also had a lot of fun. And I promise we will keep having days like like this as often as we can"

"right, combat training, Alpha duties, Luna studies. we're both going to be busy now" I said sadly and he gave me a soft squeeze.

"we will but that doesn't mean we can't make time for some fun. I know I plan on having lots of fun with you, Astrid.. in and outside of our bedroom.." he cooed, instantly making heat pool between my legs. I blushed as Alex made a soft growl, "goddess.. I love how excited you get" he chuckled lowly.

"stop it" I giggled, "I'm not having s*x with you out here" I could feel him pouting at me because I told him no. I tilted my head back to look up at him, "later" I booped his nose softly and he grinned

"there better be a later, I'm going to be really sad if not" he cooed and kissed the tip of my head before relaxing back.

we laid there quietly for a little bit before I remembered we were going to talk. "Hey, Alex?"

"hmm?"

"what was it that was bothering you earlier?" I asked and I felt his body stiffen for a moment then relax again, clearly it was something he really didn't want to talk about but when I heard him sigh I knew he was still going to tell me.

"so, as you know there's always a winter summit every two yes, yes?" he asked

"Yeah, I remember. it was one of the few times I basically had the pack house to myself for a small time. I was still cautious and what not but as long as I got my chores done, I lazied around." I shrugged. I could feel his sadness as I talked but he continued on.

"well, this winter is the summit. that being said, we have been invited to a small gathering of the surrounding packs. it's being held at Celestial moon." he began and I continued to look up at him. He paused then sighed. "Mountian pack is invited as well as us and a few others.."

my eyes went wide, if we went I would have to see them again.. oh boy..

"we don't have to go, I won't put you in that situation, Astrid." Alex rubbed my back softly and I laid my head on his chest. we laid there quietly a moment while I thought.

They can't hurt me any more, they don't own me and they won't own my future..

Damn right, it's about time we stood up to them, Astrid!

"I want to go to the gathering. when is it?" I asked, looking up at him with determination which seemed to surprise him.

"It's the week after next. Are you sure? we really don't have to go." Alex reached up and rubbed my cheek softly. I leaned my cheek into his hand as little.

"Yes, I'm sure. I no longer live under their roof and they have no control over me now. I won't let them control my future and let them control me with fear. I want them to see that I'm happy and I'm loved" I answered him with a soft smile. I watched his expression soften and he nodded.

"Alright sweetheart, we can go but we should do your luna ceremony first. mom is going to be thrilled" he laughed "she loves throwing parties and stuff"

"Wait, parties? this is a party thing?" I asked, feeling a bit uncomfortable with the idea of it.

"unfortunately, yes. it's mostly to introduce you to the pack, not everyone will be there of course but I can ask her to keep it kind of small for you. after the ceremony it's self, we can stay and eat then go relax while mom mingles" he kissed my forehead.

"okay.. well, should we go tell her or something?" I asked him and he nodded.

"Yeah, everyone should be coming in for dinner here soon so we can announce it then so mom can start planning." he answered

"we should head upstairs and get washed up and changed" I suggested.

"As long as I can shower with you" he winked at me and I rolled my eyes with a smile.

"fine, you can shower with me" I giggled. Alex sat both of us up before he stood and swooped me up into his arms. "sexy shower time it is" he seemed giddy as he quickly carried me off to our room.

Once we were in the bathroom he set me on my feet and I hardly had time to try and get my bikini off before Alex was doing it for me and carrying me into the shower. I giggled the whole way before he kissed me under the hot water. I would never get tired of this man and his s****l drive.

After our shower and getting dressed, we headed down to the dining room to meet with everyone else. despite Alex's parents not living in the pack house anymore, they still had dinner here just so they could be with their family; which also included William ans Zack of course.

Alex and I took our usual spots at the table since they were the only open ones, everyone else was here already.

"sorry were late" Alex said as we sat down"

"Oh no, its fine! you two keep up the good work on trying to give me grandbabies" Alex's mom beamed at us and I almost choked on my water that I had just taken a sip of.

"Mother! good gods, not at the dinner table!" Alex was clearly embarrassed as well while everyone laughed, including his father.

"Oh stop, we're all wolves here. we're s****l creatures and you father and I know all about that!"

"Mom stop!"

"Ew mom!"

Both Alex and Morgan said together and now it was my turn to laugh with everyone else.

the rest of dinner went well and full of jokes and laughter. As it was coming to an end, Alex got his mom's attention.

"Well, since it's clear everyone knows that Astrid and I have mated and the get together is getting close. I know it's last minute but we would like to go ahead with the luna ceremony earlier than we planned. Astrid would like to go and with Mountian pack also being invited, I want Astrid to officially be luna so they can't even use their authority over her"

at first his mother looked bummed out that she wouldn't have a lot of time to plan but when Alex explained why she seemed to ease up a little. "I understand completely, well, Astrid could you come by the house tomorrow and we will do a quick run down of the ceremony and do some planning? it might take most of the day but it's certainly doable"

"Absolutely, I'll be there" i answered with a big smile, which his mother returned

"wonderful! be there around ten please" she said warmly and I nodded. "oh and, I understand the rush but when it comes to the wedding, please give me more time to plan things" she laughed and I blushed brightly while Alex rubbed his face

"mother please.." he groaned

"what? it's going to happen one day and I would really like being involved with it. even if Astrid wants to make all the decisions, I would like to help. if that's okay with her.."

"Absolutely, I would love it if you did. I don't have parents and it means a lot that you want to be so involved" I answered and I saw his mom tearing up a little before she quickly blinked them away

"Thank you for letting me be here for you, Astrid" his mom said

"You're our family now too, Astrid" His father spoke up. he wasn't a man of many words so hearing him say that warmed my heart and filled me with happiness. I'm happy I finally have people in my life who want me to be there family.

After dinner, Alex and I headed up to our room and got changed for bed before settling in next to each other. today had been wonderful and I was excited to plan things for the luna ceremony with his mom. I'm still very much nervous about the gathering but I wasn't scared to see them.

Alex put his arm over me and kissed the top of my head softly. "I love you, Sweetheart" he cooed

"I love you too" I smiled. we both closed our eyes and were quickly asleep
