"Damnit, she's not picking up". Rafael cursed staring at his phone.
"Come on let's just go, it's getting late, we'll keep calling her". Chelsea said, Jace looked at her wordlessly and turned on his motor bike, handing her the helmet as usual.
"Lets go". Jace said to Rafael and he nodded entering his car. They drove off at the same time.
Jace dropped Chelsea off at her house first, leaving. He turned heading to a destination.
Shortly, Jace arrived at Jennie's house, few seconds later, Rafael arrived too. They wanted to check on Jennie.
"Bro, you're seriously here". Rafael chuckled, and Jace nodded.
"I'll go in". Jace said.
"Wait why you?". Rafael asked and Jace gave him a bored stare.
"Fine then, go in and if she's not back home, you'd have a lot of fun explaining why you're looking for her when you bring her home everyday."
"I didn't think of that". Jace ignored him and went to the door ringing the doorbell. Mrs Parker came out.
"Oh Jace, I was about calling you, Jennie's not yet back from school and she's not picking my calls". Mrs Parker said worriedly.
"She must be with Rafael, they had work to do". Jace lied
"Thank God, I was beginning to really get worried. That young lady is gonna get an earful when she comes home, I was really worried". She heaved a sigh.
"I don't think you should do that". Jace muttered, and Mrs Parker laughed.
"You guys are always supporting each other". He smiled.
"Okay then, I'll leave. I was crossing and decided to drop by".
"Come have snacks". She invited.
"Ummm, thanks but that'll be later. I have work to do. Bye mom". He muttered turning around and leaving.
"My little boy has grown up so fast. Damn those two excuses of parents". She mumbled.
"She's not yet back". Jace told Rafael and they didn't need anyone telling them to go back to school.
******
Jennie was already unconscious, mumbling a few times in her sleep.
The security men spotted Jace and Rafael as they were coming, he waited for them.
"Hey what are you two doing here, it's past school hours". He stopped them.
"Actually we know that sir, but we forgot very important notes in class and we need them urgently". Rafael spoke.
"Be out in five minutes". The security man said and Rafael nodded.
They entered the building and they split, searched the hallways, corridors, baseball room, washrooms. No sign of Jennie anywhere.
Jace was backing the Janitor's closet door, he'd run his fingers through his hair multiple times.
"Where are you j". He muttered and was about going out when his bracelet got caught with the lock.
"Wrong timing". He said trying to disengage it but it wouldn't budge. Annoyed, he hit the door and tried again. It unhooked. He was going again when something clicked in his mind.
"She can't be here right?". He asked himself and decided to go but his consciousness and heart kept tugging at him.
He immediately went to get the keys, finally he opened it turning on the light.
"Jennie?". He called out, no response then he noticed a figure sprawled on the floor backing him. He quickly walked over to it.
" Jennie". He called out gently tapping her face, she was still unconscious.
"Raf". He yelled carrying her like she weighed nothing, out of the closet.
Rafael arrived just on time seeing her condition, he quickly brought water and sprinkled it on her face.
After several attempts, she regained consciousness.
"No, open up". She yelled but they calmed her down.
"Shhh, no one else is here". Rafael said.
"What were you doing there?". Jace asked
Jennie told them exactly what happened.
"Some things don't add up but we'll discuss that later. Your mom is very worried, can you go home?". Rafael asked and she nodded.
"Alright let's go". Jennie stood up and realized she was clutching jace's shirt since.
"OMG I'm so sorry". She apologized straightening his uniform.
"It's all right. Just stand up".
TIME SKIP
The students of grade 12 were chattering among themselves early in the morning.
Jace was by himself as usual by the window side.
Rafael and Chelsea came in with Jennie, they walked over to him.
"Why the h*ll are you in school?". Jace asked.
"Same thing I asked her". Rafael piped
"First don't sweat at me, second you guys quit being moms, I'm perfectly fine, see no scratch". Jennie rolled her eyes.
"I'm sorry I didn't check well yesterday". Chelsea said
"Hey it's alright, it's not your fault". Jennie said holding her shoulders.
Just then, the masked girl from yesterday walked up to them.
"You .....". Jennie started.
"Please hear me out, I have a confession". She said and Chelsea's eyes widened.
