Meaghan slumped over in her chair, staring out her office window at the busy city streets, Meaghan was an interior designer and worked for one of the most sought after companies in New York; she twirled the beautiful diamond ring that Dan had proposed to her with. Dan was Meaghans fiancé and high school sweet heart, they had been dating since they were 15 and Dan had proposed to her earlier in the year. Meaghan was a stunning woman, with her long red hair, brilliant blue eyes and stunning physique -men often made passes at her, Dan both loved and hated it. As Meaghan sat at her desk her mind wandered, unsure if Dan was really who she should be marrying, although at the moment she had no other suitors she was interested in she couldn't help but feel that this wasn't what she wanted long term. Dan was an amazing man, he made sure her emotional needs were met and he was very attractive, but physically well...Meaghan wanted more. More lusting, more passion, more intimacy and that she felt that Dan just could not provide. Although they had a decent s*x life, it was very plain and boring, Dan was very "vanilla" as they say and Meaghan wanted something intense, dark, passionate. ------------------------------------------------------- Dan was a blue collar man, he had a decent job working construction in the city, he only took the job so that he and Meaghan could continue their relationship, but he excelled at it and quickly became a foreman in his company. Meaghan was the love of Dan's life, ever since High school he knew he wanted to marry her. Dan was an attractive man, he stood around 6 feet and had a sculpted body due to his line of work, he had dirty blonde hair with beautiful green eyes that had a soft kind look to them. As Dan worked today he felt a slight heart ache, Meaghan had become distant over the past couple of weeks, but she claimed Dan was just overthinking and that everything was fine; but Dan knew that something was going on, even if he couldn't pin point what it was and he was determined to bring her back to him. ------------------------------------------------------- Jai was the owner of Jameson Pharmeceutical, one of New Yorks most successful companies, and not only was he filthy rich, but he also was extremely easy on the eyes. He was New Yorks most eligible bachelor, standing 6 foot 4 inches, with dark brown hair, the most stunning blue eyes you've ever seen and a chiseled body, he really was something to see. Jai had dated around but had never found anyone he felt worthy of settling down with, he felt most woman he dated were really in it for his money and good looks and didn't truly care to get to know him, most of his "relationships" were merely short term flings which he used to satisfy his s****l needs. Although he portrayed himself to be a player he yearned for a deep rooted connection with someone, little did he know that someone worked in the building next to his and their paths would cross sooner then expected. Jai was mindlessly looking through papers in his office when his assitant Joel knocked on the door, Jai looked up from his desk "come in" he said. Joel entered his office and said "would you still like me to contact the company next door about redecorating the main offices and lobby? You had said you needed a few days to think on it". Jai had forgotten about redecorating, although it was vastly needed as the office hadn't been upgraded since his father's days. "Yes Joel, please do that, the sooner we can get them in the better." Joel nodded and turned out of the office. ------------------------------------------------------- Back at Meaghans office the phone rang, the receptionist patched the call through to Andrew's office. Andrew was Meaghans boss and probably her closest friend. Once Andrew was off the phone he casually walked to to Meaghans desk, he sat on it and smiled at her, Meaghan was now suspicious she looked at Andrew with curious eyes. Andrew smiled at her. "I have an assignment for you" he said in a peppy voice. Meaghan laughed and rolled her eyes "and what would that be Andrew?" Andrew smiled "oh you're going to like this one, you know of Jameson pharmeceuticals don't you?" Meaghan nodded "well obviously, they're right next door to us, where are you going with this?" Andrew laughed "ok smart ass, well I just got a call from them and they're looking for a designer to redo their lobby and main office space and I told them my designer Meaghan would be perfect for the job" Meaghan smiled, this would be such an amazing opportunity for advancing her career, she was so lucky to have a boss like Andrew. "thank you so much Andrew, how could I ever repay you!" Andrew winked at her and said "well if there's any eligible bachelors over there you could always send them my way". They both had a laugh at that. "you'll be meeting with the owner, Jai Jameson, tomorrow at 1:30pm" ------------------------------------------------------- Dan finished his day, his mind still unsettled, he stopped in at the local florists to get Meaghan a bouquet of Dahlias, her favourite flowers, then headed for home. When he arrived home Meaghan was already there, she was cooking dinner, she smiled at him and he took the flowers out from behind his back, she gave him a kiss and thanked him asking how his day went. "it was the usual, we should be wrapping up this project in the next week or so, unfortunately I think I'll have to go out of town for the next one so I'll be gone Monday to Friday for a few weeks once we finish this one, I'm sorry babe" Meaghan kissed him again "its ok, it's work, we both know that our jobs sometimes take us away" Meaghan felt almost relieved that Dan would be gone for a few weeks, she really needed time to think about things and it would be much easier without him around. "I have some amazing news though" exclaimed Meaghan "Andrew gave me the job of designing Jameson Pharmeceuticals new lobby and office space, this will be amazing for my career" Dan smiled and kissed her "congratulations Meg! that's amazing news, Andrew is so good to you, thank God I'm more his type then you are or I might have to be concerned" they both laughed and Meaghan continued to make dinner while Dan went to shower.
