I awoke that morning in Dragon's arms, and he was staring at me, just admiring me I am sure. I could not help but stare at him back. For so long I rejected this man, even when his father was thrilled at the thought of our union. Without warning he pulled me into a searing kiss and the feeling from last night surged through my body, but instead of pulling away I wrapped my arms around his neck, and before I knew what was happening he had me pinned beneath him. I did not want this moment to end because I rejected him at his every advance and now, I finally had him.
I just hope that noting comes between us, he is royal after all. Though his mother was not of royal blood his father had still married her and I know that Dragon fears that he will turn evil, but I know that this man could never turn evil. I also know that his father has a woman lined up to marry him when he returns home, and this caused me to pull away. Was it already too late for us to be together?
"What is it, my Queen?" Dragon asked.
"Again, I am not Queen yet, but I am concerned about the wedding plans that your father had prepared for you." I said, hiding the pain in my voice.
"My father said that he was going to talk to them today. I will just call him and tell him that you have accepted me and that the wedding plans with the princess is no longer required." Dragon said.
"Are you sure that this won't start a war or anything?" I asked.
"As you know my father did remarry and had another son, so if anything, my younger brother would be marrying her. I am going to make the phone and put it on speaker." Dragon said. I started to object, but he had already stood up and dialed the number and put the phone on speaker. I stood close to him so I could properly hear the conversation and answer any questions asked of me. I was indeed nervous, but I knew the king approved from the very being and could only smile.
"My son, what a pleasant surprise. I told you that I was in council with the neighboring kingdom about your wedding to their daughter." He said, but he didn't sound mad.
"The marriage won't be required. I have imprinted on Ember and she has imprinted on me. She has agreed to marry me and become my queen." Dragon said in a happy voice.
"Well since I am on speaker, I'm sure, is this true Ember and how long have you known?" The king asked.
"I have known for some time now and Dragon imprinted the moment he meet me. Yes, it is true that I agreed to marry him. I can't live without him and I have finally realized this, and I can't keep rejecting him. I love Dragon sir." I replied.
"My dear Ember I am so happy that you have finally accepted my son. As for the princess I have not told her parents which prince she is marrying yet. It would seem that your brother is getting married here soon. I am sure he will be thrilled considering he has had a thing for her for years." He said and could tell by his voice that he was grinning from pure joy.
"Thank you, father. I am happy to finally have ember by my side." Dragon said.
"Do not forget to complete your mission. Uniting the Kingdoms is our top propriety and keeping the dark fairies at bay. Remember if they get the stone, it's over." My father said.
"Ember your memories of this mission are going to be returned and you are to retrieve the stone immediately and return. We cannot afford to waste any time. The dark fairies have made their move, they have begun attacking the smaller villages and killed any men." The king said and Dragon put his hand on my head and in a rush all my memories of the mission returned.
"Father do you think it possible that they are looking for the stone?" Dragon asked.
"It is possible. Keep your mate safe and return to me alive so that you can finally marry Ember. It is only fair, after 30 years that the 2 of you finally have a happy ending." His father said in a joyful tone.
"Thank you, father. The three of us will use the teleport spell to get in and out. Someone of royal blood shouldn't have any problem, right?" Dragon asked.
"Yes, you should be able to teleport right by the gem. You will grab it and return here immediately. Your mother is still alive and is regretfully married to my father of all people. She wanted power that the light couldn't give her, and she is lost to us." My father said and his voice sounded sad.
"Father I have long since forgotten mother, she means nothing to me." Dragon said.
"That is a sad thought, but a good one to have when your own mother and my beloved first wife is the enemy, and a dangerous one at that." His father said.
"I understand that father and nothing will sway me, I have my future queen by my side." Dragon said and grinned at me and I could only blush.
"Alright I am going to get back to my meeting and when you return the two of you can go on a proper date." The kings said and then hung up the phone.
"Well then it would seem that we have a rather large task ahead of us, now don't we." FoxFlame said entering the room.
"Did you hear all of that?" I asked, a blush creeping up on my cheeks.
"Of course not. I only heard the part where you were talking with the king. I must same I am really happy that the two of you are finally together and I can tell you that I found my mate about 10 years ago." FoxFlame said in a shy voice.
"Why didn't you tell me? I thought we were best friends?" I said trying to act upset.
"I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to feel left out, but when we get home, I will be sure to introduce you her." He said.
"Is that a promise?" I asked.
"You know that it is my dear friend." He said and grinned.
"Well then I believe that we should teleport to the island and get that Gem, it would seem that we have run out of time to search for it. Such a shame I was enjoying the alone time that I was getting with Ember." Dragon said and pulled me close to him and blushed, which did not go unnoticed by him and FoxFlame who smirked at me.
I will make sure that he pays later on, after the mission was over, I was going to embarrass him in front of his mate. Dragon was the one to chant the spell, this would ensure that we made it directly the stone itself. I wonder if he knew all along where the stone was and this was just a test for me to see how loyal I was or something, but in the end it had to be rushed due the emergency.
Oh, great fairy lord who have ruled over these lands since the being of time,
Provide us with safe passage.
Let us journey to the forbidden Island in search of the Sacred Treasure.
Great Fairy King Passageway.
I watched as a brilliant gold light flashed around the three of us and we disappeared and reappeared in what looked like an ancient cavern. This must have been around since time began and it was beautiful. Flowers of all kinds lined the cave walls and many of them glowed every color possible which was the lighting needed to see in what should have been a dark cavern. I smiled at Dragon and he grinned great big, I am sure it was because he was proud of the achievement he had made. This place was truly a work of art and if it was possible I would remain here forever, but that wasn't a choice. In the middle of the cavern sat a rather large pedestal and atop it was an average sized chest, and that was what I assumed contained the stone that we needing to retrieve. I started to walk toward but Dragon held up his hand to signify me to stop, this must mean that a trap was laid to stop intruders. It would only be natural that a trap would be set to secure the stones safety all this time.
