Prologue
Prologue Ember Woodsworth was a member of the fairy Kings guard and she was one of the best there was. She had the most vibrant red hair with gold streaks in it, when she walked in the sun her hair shone brightly. She had gorgeous violet eyes with golden and blue flecks in them and a milky skin tone and was about 5'3. Every fairy guy lusted after her and the females envied her. The king's son Dragon had been trying for almost 30 years now to get her to become his bride, but every time she declined him. They were not mating, and he knew it and she had a feeling he did too, just didn't want to admit it. Fairies were creatures that were immortal, and their bonds were made by true acts of love. Say a male fairy risks his life, or something like that's, then it creates a bond between him and the woman he loves. So far Dragon had not showed her that, but maybe he would. Flashback "Ember can I have a moment of you time?" Dragon asked. "Of course, my prince. Is there anything that I can do for you?" Ember asked. "Please call me Dragon, I've told you about that." Dragon said. "I'm sorry Dragon it's a habit! So, what is it that you need?" Ember asked. "Ember I think you know what I want. I have asked numerous times and the answer is always the same, but this time I'm not asking the same question. My question this time is: Why won't you marry me? There is no law saying that you cannot marry me." Dragon said. "Dragon, you are not mature enough to marry me, you always flirt with other women, you have lavish parties where you get drunk, and not to mention you constantly have a new girlfriend." Ember replied. "Look Ember, I know that I have a party problem and drinking problem, but it is all meaningless if I can't have you by my side. I don't want any of those girls, the only one I want is you." Dragon replied "You are a good guy and very handsome, but we would always fight, and you would constantly have random women in your bed." Ember replied. "Ember please listen!" Dragon pleaded, he took a hold of my arm and pulled me close to him. "I promise that I can change. I have never felt this way about any girl, you make my heart glow." Dragon said. I pulled away from him. "Dragon, once a player always one. I must go I really have business to attend to." I started to walk away, but he grabbed me and pulled him to me, before I had time to react, he kissed me hard and passionately. The kiss was raw with need, but there was love in there as well. The kiss had Ember blushing madly, and her heart pounding. Something inside her burned for a need to be closer to him. She couldn't help but pull herself closer to him, she wanted more. I was almost like she couldn't get enough of him. Ember could feel a spark burning its way through her body, and she realized that was her imprinting on him, this couldn't be happening. Finally, dragon pulled away, but didn't get a chance to say anything, because Ember ran. Ember ran until she got to her room and she slammed the door shut and threw herself on her bed. She had finally imprinted, but not with who she wanted it to be with. Over the years she had harbored secret feelings for her close friend FoxFlame, but now those chances were gone, but it was probably better that way. Back to the present Ember had finally drifted back to present; she had been thinking about Dragon's last marriage proposal. Now she had wasted precious time. Ember had been doing that a lot lately and it seemed that Dragon was on her mind a bit more than usual. She had hoped that his crush on her would go away and he would go for one of the women on the court that always danced around him. She had to quit thinking about that, because it only annoyed her and made her disgusted. Today she had been summoned by her king and was told it was urgent. Ember just hoped that it was not Dragon making another attempt to marry her. Last year he had begged his father to convince her to marry him, but his father told him to do it on his own. The year before that he tried to have a law passed that would force her to marry him, but that did not work either. All that did was enrage his father. One day he would learn. Ember was not told why she was being summoned, and that angered her. Finally, she arrived at the throne, and pushed the doors open. Ember walked forward and bowed before her king. "My dear Ember, I am so glad that you could come on such short notice." The king said. "Of course, my king. Anything for you." Ember replied. "How are you on this day?" The king asked. "I am good, sir." Ember replied. "That is good. Does young Dragon still have high hopes for the two of you?" The king asked. "You know he does, but as I have said before, I can't see spending my eternity with him. I know that you think he is a wise choice, but I feel that there is some else I should be with. I have not made the bond with him." Ember replied. "I see. I hate to hear that. Dragon had hoped the bond would develop between you two." The king replied. "I know, and I'm sorry. Your son is a great person and deserves better than me, but you didn't call me here to ask about your son and me. What is it that you need my king?" Ember asked. "Wise as always, my dear Ember. As you know you are my best solider, so only you can do this mission that I need done. This mission alone could decide the fate of all fairies and this entire kingdom." The king said. "My king what could be so important that it could decide our fates." Ember asked in a serious tone. "The Kings gem. In the hands of evil this gem could bring the world into darkness and destroy the very foundations of life. All that will be left is evil. I know that the evil fairies are already on the hunt to find the gem. The gem had been locked away in secret and only recently has the evil fairies made a move to find it. The gem is hidden on a lost island called Roseland and is buried deep within a cave of jewels and treasures beyond belief." The king said. "Why was the gem hidden to begin with? Why not keep it with you?" Ember asked. "My dear Ember, the story of the gem is a long and sad one." The king replied. "Please tell me my king." Ember said with a slight pleading voice. "Long ago a gem was crafted by the elves for my grandfather when he was about to be crowned, but the gem held immense power and could destroy countries. My grandfather had the gem for centuries until my father was born. My father was born into turmoil though and would never know his mother. The realization hit my grandfather, he had been betrayed, and his wife was an evil fairy and had only married him in hopes of getting the gem, so he had her executed. Upon her execution, he had his son's true identity hidden, he did not want my father to know that he was part evil fairy. He raised my father as if he would any other child, but my father was part evil and when he became of age he killed my grandfather and took the throne and the gem, plunging our world into darkness, and then I was born, my father tried to raise me as evil, but I just had to much good in me. When I finally got the throne, I banished my father, not able to bear the thought of killing him, but the attempts to steal the gem never stopped, so I hid the gem where no person would ever find it. Now the evil fairies are once again after the gem. My father has issued a bounty on my head and the Gem. Any person who finds the Gem will be rewarded greatly." The king replied. "So how will I find the cave the gem dwells in?" Ember asked. "There is only one cave on the island, large enough to hold all of the treasures. The cave lies inside the highest mountain on the island. The island is just off the coast of Antarctica and no one but our kind knows of its existence. It has been cloaked by glamour's and enchantments for thousands of years." The king replied. "I understand." Replied Ember. "Unfortunately, you will have no memory of its location or of this mission. The reason for this is because we can't risk the evil fairies finding that gem. You will be left clues as to where it is and you will have a small house in South Korea, where you will reside till you find all the clues. We will provide you money and supplies. You will remember who you are, but not about your mission." The king said. "Very well, but this will make the mission harder, but not impossible. If I should get captured?" Ember asked. "Then you know the words that will end you." The king said. She knew that this was going to be a sacrifice, but she was happy to make it. "One last question, why bring the gem out now?" Ember asked. "Because war has been waged between good and evil, and the only way to win is to have that gem. Evil has spawned something unnatural and we have to stop them. I will be sending Dragon and Foxflame as guards for you, just in case my father tries something." The king replied. "Very well." She replied. With those words the king uttered words in an ancient language that only few knew how to speak. When Ember awoke, she would find herself in a house in South Korea with no knowledge of her mission and her first clue would be on her bedside table.
