CHAPTER 10

In the corner of a london star-studded hotel ballroom, a little girl is sitting hugging her own feet. Her eyes are round green with curled eyelashes, and her face looks like a doll. He ignores the hustle and bustle of the party that doesn't interest him, slipping into the corner of the room out of boredom. Shy little girl with blonde ponytail, wearing a pink dress paired with matching ballet shoes makes her look cute.

The girl wakes up from her daydream when she feels someone sitting next to her, she raises her head to see who that person is. Right next to him sits a brunette boy with a blue eye bead as blue as the ocean.

"Are you alone?" the boy warmly smiles at him.

"Yes! My parents were busy with his friends."

"This is the first time you've come to a party, little girl?"

"Brother is right, I'd better be home," he replied bored. 

"Andrew..." The boy reached out to the little girl who looked just as bored with this party.

"Sarah..." The girl returned Andrew's helping hand.

"Sweet name, why not enjoy the party, little brother?"

"Very bored and my brother is not accompanying either," Andrew follows Sarah's direction of view, until she finds the point sarah is aiming for.

"Luke?" Sarah turned her face, staring at Andrew in full question.

"Is he your brother?" Andrew asked a curious who only got a nod from Sarah. 

At that time Sarah was only 4 years old rarely joined with her parents to attend business parties like this. Andrew is four years older than him and Luke's best friend, Sarah's cousin. Since that day the two often play together, even until they were teenagers. Andrew knows Sarah's quiet character very well and finds it difficult to open up to new people or environments. 

Sometimes she has to keep an eye on Sarah who often gets bad luck due to her antisocial nature. Carol and Aaron have been Sarah's best friends since the playground days, and they also know Andrew very well.

Andrew Niall McCraven is heir to the UK's largest media business empire. Born as the only son of 3 brothers with two younger sisters. Andrew was not spoiled as a child, even the upbringing of his parents was to get what he wanted with his own efforts. This was proven by the success story of building a luxury apartment area in Washington DC along with Luke while still in college and a luxury hotel in Waikiki, Hawaii. Even while he was still studying for his master's degree at MIT. Andrew was the first man for Sarah Dimitrova-Jacob, because the girl did not know anyone other than her family and friends. 

"I love you, Sarah. I hope you can wait for me to return to London."

A small kiss lands on Sarah's knee as she takes andrew off to continue her education at MIT, America. At first their long-distance relationship was well lived and without problems. But everything changed when Andrew was busy building a hotel business in Hawaii and rarely contacted his very young lover. Until finally the relationship had to break down when Andrew returned to London, and afterwards decided to remain best friends.

That afternoon Andrew was still busy in The McCraven's TV station building. His mind and eyes focused on the computer screen in front of him. He is a leader who is very high on professionalism in terms of work. Many of them are amazed and always admire his humble figure, although sometimes it impresses him playboy. He is often found changing partners several times a month, which is actually just a friend. What's more, it's always been public consumption.

"s**t!!! Who dares bother me?"

Andrew was annoyed that his phone had been vibrating so much. It really breaks down its concentration checking some company reports. He stares at the caller's screen on his phone. 

Aeleen Leaghsaid McCraven

He immediately answered a call that turned out to be from his sister. His forehead was snarling and his face was covered in worry when he heard the sound of issing across there.

"What's wrong? Calm down, Leen..."

"Sarah's brother. Sob..."

"Sarah? What happened to him?" Andrew's voice sounded unsettled as usual.

"He had an accident in Edinburgh." Hiks..." Aeleen's tears don't stop making Andrew even more panicked. 

He broke the phone after learning of Sarah's condition, after contacting Jacob's family to confirm the news. But it seems that the news is true, as none of Jacob's family members can be reached. Because they were busy and on their way to Scotland for Sarah. Andrew sighed before calling his personal assistant to take care of his departure to Scotland at the same time.

"I still love you so much, please hang on..." when driving to Heathrow Airport. 

Her mind is really messed up right now, hearing that the girl she loves had an accident is not good news. Especially when she had to learn to let Sarah be happy with her new lover, David Schneider. At the airport the entire McCraven family had been waiting for his arrival. Ailbert James McCraven approaches his son who looks confused. Although not shed tears but the blue bead is full of sadness.

"Brother Andrew..." a girl ran towards him, hugging tightly his strapping body which was still in shock.

"I'm fine, Arabela. We have to go now, he desperately needs us," Andrew let go of his youngest brother who was still crying. She knows exactly how close her younger sisters are to Sarah. Even now Sarah is on holiday in Scotland with her mother and sister. 

The McCraven family arrived at Edinburgh Airport after a long journey according to Andrew, regardless of the private jet they owned. Upon arrival they rushed to the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, where Sarah was treated. The sad sight there makes Andrew's heart even sadder. Mariana is still crying as she cuddles dacota McCraven, Andrew's mother. He approached Edward Jacob who was standing in front of the operating room. Embraced by a middle-aged man who is a family friend and also the father of his girl. 

"May there be a miracle, Drew."

A few hours later a doctor came out of Sarah's operating room. "Mr. Edward Jacob, let's talk for a second," a middle-aged doctor named Ahmed Hasyim told Edward. Andrew obeys Edward's request to hear a statement from the doctor who treated Sarah. Instantly Edward's body was limp if only Andrew hadn't held him back. Doctor Ahmed's statement left Edward devastated and shocked, while Andrew allowed his body to walk towards jacob and McCraven's entire family who had been waiting anxiously. 

Their sad and worried faces are growing when they see Andrew bessing Edward who looks very chaotic. The new Luke comes soon to take responsibility for his uncle. 

"What's the matter, Drew? Why is Uncle Edward like this?"

Andrew didn't answer and just passed it, his gaze blank until his body was sitting on the floor. The incident once again caused panic among both families. Edward didn't say anything, even as Mariana gushed about questions about their daughter's condition. 

Dacota is aware of his son's condition and walks up to Andrew, who looks devastated. He tried to calm his son down, until the moment Aeleen approached them.

'I don't know what really happened, but before that he looked fine. He still smiles at us and says he's going to buy something," Andrew stares intently at his shocked and crying brother.

"You don't care about him? I told you to pay attention, but you didn't, Aeleen!" he grumbled to Aeleen, who was actually innocent in this.

"Enough!!!" cried Mariana when she heard Andrew's anger at his sister.

'He didn't do anything wrong, Drew. Aeleen is telling the truth, and he looked fine before the accident happened," Mariana broke down explaining to Andrew about Sarah's condition before the accident happened. 

"Honey, please tell me what happened to our daughter? He's going to be fine, right?" Mariana caresses the soft back of her devastated husband's hand.

"Have you contacted the family in Sofia? You have to tell them about Sarah's condition," Edward did not answer his wife's question and asked her to inform the Dimitrova family in Bulgaria.

Luke walks up to Andrew who is still sitting limply on the floor. He understands how his best friend Andrew feels about sarah for another man. Let the girl she loves laugh and be happy with another man, and that's not her. Luke pats Andrew on the shoulder and sits next to his best friend.

"Can you tell me how my brother is doing?" Andrew just glanced at Luke who looked just as as him. 

"We need to know how it's going, Drew. Do you know why Uncle Edward wanted you to accompany him when you see the Doctor?" Andrew just shut up and glanced at Luke with a sad stare.

'I don't know, Luke. I love her so much."

"I know, that's why Uncle Edward wants you to be with him. He always knew you were stalking his daughter," Luke said calmingly enough andrew.

But Uncle Ed let Sarah get in touch with David Schneider. His murmurings were in his heart before ventured up towards both families. Andrew held his head up to hold back the tears that were about to fall, walking towards Jacob and McCraven's family. 

"I'm sorry, Uncle Edward. Because I can't control myself and fall like this." Andrew stares at Edward's face nodding a sign he has to say to all current family members. His hands clenched to hold back the unbearable cry again.

"Because Sarah's accident was quite severe, it hit some of her vital organs." Mariana's eyes flick and stare at Andrew with an interrogative stare. wound. That's what Andrew captured from the eyes of the woman who gave birth to her girl.

"Sarah had a brain deadness, the doctor said the chances of her waking up were very small. Hiks..." his speech sounded tough but will not be restrained anymore from a man who never cried.

Mariana is unconscious hearing the reality spoken by Andrew. The whole family panicked, Karl and Paul immediately called the medics to deal with Mariana and Edward's shocked condition after hearing Andrew's remarks. Dacota hugs her sobbing son after telling the bitter reality of Sarah's condition. The whole family who are still waiting for Sarah to come out of the operating room is getting sad. Luke even blames himself for failing to look after his cousin's sister. Little Halsey was seen crying at her mother's side. The family was completely injured and devastated.
