CHAPTER 3

1356 Words
A handsome man in a middle suit sits in his oversized chair, facing several executive ranks at his family-owned company. He is seen occasionally staring at the movement of the clockwork attached to his wrist. Second by second it feels slow for a David Schneider. I don't know what's on his mind right now, so the annual meeting he leads feels no longer his focus. His body is indeed in this place, a room with this big wooden door. But not with his soul, because since a few hours ago he has not listened too much to what the executives said. Shit! This seat feels so hot! David's grunts are deeply heartened when he gets bored with his father's Schneider Corporation annual meeting. This time David represented his Father and Brother to lead this meeting. It feels so saturated to face executives who argue more about what doesn't really matter. David has no interest in the family business. "Mr. Schneider, what do you think of next year's budget plan?" an executive began asking David's opinion as the leader of this meeting. "I think it's good enough, but it needs to be re-discussed with the President Director of the company for further action." "All right, I think that's enough for today's meeting. All data and proposals will be reviewed by Young Master Scheider," Assistant David concluded the big meeting. David loosened a red tie that had been suffocating his neck for a long time. His anger always happens if forced to replace the father or brother to lead a business meeting. "I'm a Professor of Culture, and they asked me to negotiate business? Really Michael Schneider is so annoying!" he resented when there was only himself and his assistant, James. "Patience, I'm sure you can get through it!" James patted David's limp shoulders with a tie. James was David's best friend since childhood, and James' father was also an assistant to Michael Schneider, David's father. David's father was a successful businessman in Germany with a very good reputation. It's just that he's very happy to stir up David's emotions, even though his goal is just to prank him. "Please prepare a plane for my departure to London tomorrow!" David orders James before leaving the office. "Good," replied James' obedience to his best friend and superior. David races his sports car on the streets of Munich, a picturesque German city with all the historical stories of the past. The air is quite cold and choking pierces the heart no longer cares. He wants to be in the same place as the one he misses the most. And now his luxury sports car stops right in front of the large fence of an area of classic German buildings. With the whitening trees covered in snow that continues to fall at the end of December. Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich A large inscription is clearly displayed in front of his car, a place where he can feel comfortable to work. David is a reputable Lecturer in Culture at the university. The handsome man who is still faithful to his solitude is so loved by the student. At a young age, David managed to obtain the title of 'Professor' and often became a speaker at several cultural seminars in Europe. Handsome, the second son of a wealthy businessman in Europe, smart, and still alone makes him always the target of girls out there. David still looks at home with his solitude, locking hearts out of the presence of other girls in his life. David decided to finish his work quickly today, he rushed home when he made sure there was no more classes afterwards. "I have to tell them," David keeps repeating the same phrase all the way to his parents' mansion. What does he want to say to his family later? Chances are they'll oppose his plan this time as they have. The car he was driving at high speed had been right in front of an iron fence, the big gate of his parents' mansion. Before long the black gate in front of him was wide open, allowing his car to enter. His car had entered the main road leading to the mansion's main building, until it stopped right in front of the fountain. He walked up the steps of the luxury mansion's hallway, giving a friendly smile to the waiter who opened the door. David appears to be silent when his steps stop right in front of the Schneider family's gathering room. He stared at a bright blue bead that was staring at him somberly. The owner of the blue bead walked up to her, hugging her body which apparently could not cover the fragility in the heart. Rouwiena Muller, a middle-aged woman who is none other than the mother seems to give warmth to the son. The woman who owns a cultural and social foundation in Germany has always been a warm mother figure to her children. Her warm and loving persona has also been recognized throughout Germany, she is the mother of Laura Schneider, David Schneider, and Samuel Schneider. "What happened to you, son?" the gentle caress of his hand landed on David's brown hair. "Dave's tortured if it continues like this, Mom. I want to see him," he said in a quivering voice. "Are you sure you're really ready to see him again?" Laura stares worriedly at her sister's face. "Finally today, I'm going to call Edward Jacob to tell you where you're coming," Michael Schneider said with a heavy heart shortly before drinking his hot tea. "At least I've tried to make him remember me, because I really miss him," he steps up to the couch next to his Father. Too stupid, he was trying to hurt himself. Meeting someone who doesn't remember him at all, even thinking about him. Sometimes fate is so cruel to her, a past that makes her have to lose that beautiful figure. Sarah Dimitrova-Jacob, the beloved figure she longed for half-dead. Even David almost died because he could not meet his lover since 5 years ago. Michael appears to contact someone soon after his son's arrival. Anything he would do for the sake of his son's happiness, including pleading with his business partner, Edward Jacob. Previously the two middle-aged men had agreed to facilitate their two children when the time had come. Giving David the chance to be present once again in the life of Edward Jacob's daughter. Faced with the fact that she is no longer part of Sarah Dimitrova-Jacob's memory and life. The impression of adulthood is no longer seen if he is reminded again of Sarah's figure in his life. Their story is not just a romantic romance of young people in general, but a love story of a pair of adult humans. Sarah lost part of her memory after a tragic accident in Scotland. And the whole memory of David was lost along with the blood coming out of his head. They both feel empty and alone, because the puzzle of their lives is still a mess to this day. In the afternoon David was sitting on the plane before his plane finally took off from Munich to London. His eyes stared out the window of the plane as he watched munich's light points dim, disappearing as his plane got higher and higher. His mind drifted and looked at the events of five years ago, before the unfortunate incident happened. And ever since the terrible accident happened to Sarah, that nightmare has been there every night. "I should never have let him go then," he said heavily before he closed his eyes. Too tired to think it makes him sleep deprived. But she can't fall asleep at all, but just replays her memories with Sarah. "Mr. Schneider, the plane will land in 15 minutes," a flight crew member approached David, who was closing his eyes. "All right! Please prepare everything before I get off," he said after coming to his senses and staring out the window of the plane. London and Sarah. Wait no minute, I miss you so much... Sure in the heart.
