Chapter 3

It's finally moving day!

I got up at 6AM before everyone else, I decided I can make some coffee and breakfast since everyone is helping me move the little bit of stuff that I have. Mike and Charlie are going to be getting up soon to get the moving truck. So when they wake up they will be full and caffinated before they leave.

Hmm. Irish Cremè for coffee, Sausage, bacon, eggs and toast for breakfast. I think yes. Breakfast scramble or omelets? omelets are too much work. So breakfast scramble it is.

Bacon, sausage and eggs are going on the griddle, coffee is brewing. Four coffee cups are ready! Dad and Mike start racing downstairs with big ol grins on their face. I have to say, since mom and dad Divorced its been pretty peaceful. Mike and Charlie hit it off when they met each other, almost as if they were meant to be brothers. It's better than fighting I guess, but it does get weird between them sometimes, more like brotherly love, but too much.

Charlie: "Smells great sweetie!"

Abby: "Thanks Dad!"

Mike: "I couldn't agree more, I'm starving, after we eat we need to go get that moving truck and go do you know what."

Abby: "Do what?"

Charlie: "Ohhh umm just a little errand this morning when we get the truck."

Abby: "More secrets" Rolling my eyes at my dad with a grin.

As dad was getting ready to say something mom comes storming down the stairs.

Mom: "Don't you guys make enough racket when your together" Making evil glares at Charlie and Mike.

Both Mike and Charlie look at each other and start laughing, mom walks over by them and elbows them both in the ribs making them jump.

Mom: "Now eat your food and drink your caffinated drinks and get that moving truck"

Boys did as they were told, they ate their breakfast and sipped their coffee, then headed out to get the moving truck. As always dad and Mike take off and up to no good half the time, meaning that In a joking matter. Mom and I sat at the kitchen bar and reminiscing about the old days and laughing. We finished up and heard someone pull in the drive. It was Pat and his nephew Noel. I head outside to great them both.

Abby: "Morning Pat, Noel."

Noel: "Hey, uh morning, I told Pat not to bring me, only because we barely know each other, but I wanted to bring you something anyway"

Pat: "Oh whatever you couldn't stop talking about- ouch."

Noel punches Pat in the arm, as if Pat was going to say something he wasn't supposed, but that's Pat for you.

Abby: "Honestly more the merrier I suppose, what do you mean you got me something? you didn't have to get me anything" I laughed nervously at him.

Noel: "Well I didn't get you anything for the graduation party and I felt it was only right "

Noel pulls out a black bag and takes out a green crystal on a gold chain.

Noel: "It's not much but it's just something for anxiety and protection."

Abby: "It's really pretty! Thanks."

He gives me a nod and smiles.

Pat: "We are here to help, Where is everyone."

Abby: Charlie and Mike should be back soon, they went to go get the moving truck, but mom is inside oh and there's coffee inside you are more than welcome to help yourself.

We head inside, and surely enough Charlie and Mike are back, took them long enough. I swear they could disappear for a decade and not realize it. I head outside with a few lightweight boxes.

Abby: "Took you long enough to get here you dorks."

Charlie: "Well we had to get a few things and needed a little bit bigger truck."

Abby: "What few things is a few things?"

Mike: "Well I didn't get you much for the party so we got you a few things for your new place, come take a look"

I came over to the moving truck and opened the door, inside was a small dining room table with 4 chairs, a 30inch TV, a stand for the TV, a coffee table, some appliances, a couch and loveseat. I wanted to yell at them for buying so much, but I was leaving with the things I have in my bedroom; bed, dresser, night stand, a rocking chair and a few other things. I teared up and gave them both a hug.

Charlie: "You ok kid? usually you yell at us for buying you so much."

Abby: "Not this time, I don't have much and I'm going to miss you guys."

Dad wraps me up in a big bear hug.

Charlie "Let's get the stuff in the truck kids"

Abby: "Kids?" I asked confusingly.

Charlie: "Yeah, isn't that your boyfriend? "

Abby: "What? Who? Noel, haha no, he's cute but um no" I could feel my cheeks get incredibly warm as I accidentally said slipped out of my mouth.

Charlie: "Cute huh? is it a crush? " As dad looks at me and looks at the screen door.

I look slowly behind and got completely embarrassed as I seen Noel walking out the screen door with a big smile on his face, he definitely knows he's charming.

Noel: "Wanna know something? You're cute when you're shy. Also your cheeks are a bit rosey and warm" As he runs he soft fingers over my cheek and starts laughing.

Abby: "So I'm the cute one now?" Again not thinking before I opened my mouth.

Noel: "Yeah you got the charms, I say your cute alright."

Charlie: "Alright kids, enough flirting and more packing."

As the day goes on, Noel and I start talking some more and eventually it wasn't awkward. He was actually pretty easy to talk to, but there was just something mysterious about him, besides the charming good looks. Moving truck was full, 5pm rolled around and it was about time for me to head out and venture on my new beginning. Mom and Mike were driving together in Mike's car. Dad and Pat were in the moving truck, then Noel rode with me in my car. The drive wasn't very long, Noel and I laughed and talked with each other, so it didn't seem like 2 hours. We switched phone numbers as well, it just so happens to be that Noel and I were in the same apartment complex, obviously different apartment number. It was nice though, at least I have Noel here to help me out I don't know anyone here.

Charlie: "Looks like this is it huh? "

Abby: "Yep this is it. It has two bedrooms just in case for guests to stay but eventually I'll get a another bed for the 2nd room. Unpacking is going to be fun.

Charlie: "Looks nice sweetie, well we have to upload before you start unpacking. Unfortunately we can't stay very long we are only able to help unload the truck."

Abby: "No worries Dad! Thanks for all your help. "

Charlie: "Just do me a favor, not too much boy drama, however if you need to talk, I'm a call away."

Mom: "Me too hunny, but Noel seems like a sweet kid as is, Your kinda in the woods, so hopefully it stays quiet and not much noise out here for you."

Pat: "I'm going to head on out, Noel is a great kid, just had a rough childhood, his dad is in prison and his mom isn't around." Pat looks over at Noel, Noel is too far away to hear anything Pat was saying anyway.

Noel was still grabbing a few things from my trunk, and started walking over to the entrance of my apartment, he had a mean look on him and kinda shoved Pat out of the way. He wasn't in a good mood anymore, what was his attitude for?

Noel: "Sorry for dipping out so early but I need to head to my apartment, and get a few things done, you know where to find me, Abby I'll over tomorrow and help you with the TV and the other stuff. Goodnight."

Mom: "Well hunny, it's time for us to head back too before it gets too late, please make sure you lock your door and deadbolt."

Abby: "Yes mother I promise, I love you."

Charlie: "I love you sweetie." Dad comes over and wraps me back up into a bear hug and kisses the top of my head.

Mike: "Love you Abbs, don't forget I'm here as well."

Pat: "I'll see ya kid, you are always welcome back at the bar whenever, love ya."

Abby: "I love you all so much, don't worry I'll visit often, dad you have to visit too"

Charlie: " I know sweetie, I'll try my best, goodnight hunny."

Abby: "Goodnight, you guys please let me know when you get home"

Mom: "We will, love you."

Everyone says there farewells and starts heading home, I head inside and make my bed and lay down on my pillow and drift off to sleep, it was well needed for a long day.
