Chapter 1
Abby
"You just want me to leave!? What have I ever done to you?"
"That's the point!" He growled
"You didn't do anything you need to leave and not come back"
It felt like my heart was being ripped out from my chest. My chest started tightening and I couldn't breathe.
"So you don't want to see me again, fine have it that way then!"
Before I could turn around he was gone, and out of sight.
*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP
I hit snooze on my alarm and didn't want to get up out of bed. "What a weird dream, what the hell was all that about" There's a knock on the door. "Sweetie you awake? It's almost noon now coffee is made and your creamer is on the counter, I have to get to work now I'll see you later"
"Bye mom, love you"
I put my face back down into the pillow and groan, haven't got much sleep this past weekend, been working at the bar saving money for my apartment. I'll be going to a community College and I'll be about two hours from home, we live in a small country town so everything is kinda far out from where we live. My mom works at a nursing home, it's about 30 minutes out. It's just my mom, Mike and I. Mike is my mom's new husband, he's an okay guy, kinda weird. I recently got ordained so I can marry them. they didn't want anything big, just a small wedding and a small get together from everyone in town. Everyone knows everyone kind of thing. It gets annoying.
The Coffee smells great, and there is food on counter, there's a letter from mom.
"I'll be home in few days Mike and I are going on our honeymoon after I get out of work tonight, don't throw a house party while I'm gone, stay out of trouble. Love you, mom"
House party actually sounds phenomenal right now and would be wicked. I miss my friends from Wyoming I ended up moving to Colorado after my parents split up. Allison still stays in contact with me, unlike Jen and Miranda. It's a two way street I guess but they knew my parents divorced and Allsion always kept tabs on me. She's very sweet and elegant but very high maintenance.
I eat my breakfast and drink my coffee, I hop in the shower and start getting ready for work. "Another day Another dollar I guess" I said to myself
Pat: "You're late! see what time it is?"
Abby: "What?" I looked down at my watch it's 3:45.
"I still have 15 minutes to clock in, nice try though Pat"
Pat: *Giggles* "I still made you look though"
Abby: "Haha, thanks Pat"
Pat: "Come on Abby, get yourself some humor girl"
Abby: "I have humor, you scared me for a second and making think I was late; I have to talk to you about something though, I need to put in my two week notice, I'll be starting school here soon"
Pat: "Oh that's right! you better keep in good contact with us though we'll miss you. I'll go put in your two week notice now"
Abby: "Thanks Pat that means a lot, don't worry I'll visit often as I can, I'll be coming back home to see my mom and Mike"
My shift starts, and of course day starts out slow, I only work the weekend and I picked up today trying to get some extra cash. I happened to see a tall charming man walk inside the bar, he had a fade but his hair was about 3 inches long on top. He stood to be about 6ft. Dark brown hair and green eyes. I seen him walk behind the bar and instantly got confused.
Abby: "Yo Pat, who's that guy that just walked in" I said with a concerning look on my face. Pat looks up at and he starts chuckling.
Pat: "That my dear is Noel" With a smirk on his face.
Abby"Is he new here, I never seen him before?" I asked still staring at him.
Pat: "Look like your eyes are about to pop out of your head if you keep staring at him like that. "No he's not new, new to the bar yes. Noel is my nephew, but he can be a handful. He's just filling in for today, Jonah hasn't showed back up yet" He had a concerning look in his eyes.
Jonah did a no call no show the other night, he was no where to be found. He's very sweet, but just diapeared out of now where. I was hoping that he was ok, he was always alone. How can one just go missing in a small town like this?
