A CHRISTMAS COLLISION
EPISODE 1: A CHRISTMAS COLLISION
Setting: A bustling Christmas market. Lights are sparkling, carolers are singing, and snow gently falls. Anna is walking through the crowd with a warm cup of cocoa, bundled up in a scarf, while Ethan is rushing with a bag of last-minute gifts.
Anna (muttering to herself):
"Why do I even bother coming out? Every year, it’s the same—crowds, overpriced cocoa, and… oh no, spilled cocoa on my gloves. Fantastic."
Ethan (bumping into Anna, nearly dropping his bags):
"Whoa, whoa! Hey, watch it—"
Anna (cutting him off, glaring):
"Excuse me?! You’re the one running like it’s a race! Did you not see me standing here?"
Ethan (raising an eyebrow):
"Standing? More like blocking the entire walkway. What are you, a traffic cone in disguise?"
Anna (sarcastically):
"Oh, great. My day just wasn’t complete without being insulted by a stranger."
Ethan (trying to keep a straight face):
"Well, you’re welcome. Merry Christmas."
Anna (rolling her eyes):
"Unbelievable. What’s next? You’re going to spill my cocoa too?"
Ethan (grinning, noticing her empty cup):
"Looks like life beat me to it."
Anna (mocking):
"Ha-ha, very funny. Do you rehearse being this annoying, or is it just natural talent?"
Ethan (laughing):
"It’s a gift, really. Speaking of gifts..." pauses and notices her glaring "...okay, okay, my bad. Let me make it up to you. How about a fresh cocoa? My treat."
Anna (hesitating):
"Why do I feel like there’s a catch?"
Ethan (smiling):
"No catch. Just a free cocoa and an apology for the accidental... bump."
Anna (reluctantly):
"Fine. But if you spill this one, I’m throwing snowballs at you."
Ethan:
"Deal. Snowballs it is."
(They walk to a nearby cocoa stand, the tension slowly melting as they order.)
Ethan (handing her the cocoa):
"Here you go, peace offering accepted?"
Anna (sipping, pretending to think):
"Hmm... it’s decent. Apology accepted. For now."
Ethan (laughing):
"Wow, you’re a tough crowd. Do you always negotiate peace treaties over hot chocolate?"
Anna (smirking):
"Only when strangers crash into me at Christmas markets."
Ethan (mock dramatic):
"Ah, the tragic tale of Anna versus the Christmas chaos."
Anna:
"Tragic? Try comedy. I bet you’ve ruined someone else’s day already."
Ethan (grinning):
"Actually, you’re the first. Feels like an achievement, honestly."
(They sit on a bench nearby, the conversation shifting from teasing to light-hearted chatter.)
Anna (curious):
"So, what’s the rush anyway? Did Santa forget your wishlist?"
Ethan (chuckling):
"Close. Last-minute gifts for my nieces. They’d probably disown me if I showed up empty-handed."
Anna (smiling):
"Crisis averted then. Lucky kids to have an uncle who... bumps into strangers for fun."
Ethan (laughing):
"And lucky me for finding a stranger who forgave me with cocoa. What about you? Why’re you out here alone?"
Anna (shrugs):
"Same old story. Family’s busy, friends are away, so it’s just me and my cocoa this year."
Ethan (softly):
"That doesn’t sound very festive."
Anna (teasing):
"Well, it was festive until you showed up."
Ethan (playfully offended):
"Ouch. And here I thought I was the Christmas miracle."
Anna (laughing):
"Miracle? More like a Christmas inconvenience."
Ethan (mock serious):
"Wow, you’ve got jokes. Ever thought of being a comedian?"
Anna:
"No, but I might consider stand-up if this cocoa doesn’t warm me up soon."
Ethan:
"Fair. Tell you what—how about we add some excitement to this boring Christmas of yours?"
Anna (suspiciously):
"Excitement? What kind of excitement?"
Ethan:
"Let’s play a game. We each have to complete a random Christmas challenge before the night ends. Loser buys dinner."
Anna:
"You’re really into bets, aren’t you?"
Ethan:
"Hey, it’s Christmas! What’s the worst that could happen?"
Anna (smirking):
"Fine. But don’t cry when I win."
(They agree on their first challenge: to find the quirkiest Christmas ornament in the market. They split up, searching the stalls and laughing at each other’s finds.)
Anna (holding up a tiny Santa riding a rubber duck):
"Behold! The quirkiest ornament of all time."
Ethan (holding up a glittery pickle ornament):
"Nice try, but nothing beats the Christmas pickle."
Anna (bursting into laughter):
"A pickle?! Who even makes that?!"
Ethan:
"Apparently, some genius who understands the true spirit of Christmas."
Anna (wiping tears of laughter):
"Okay, fine. You win this round. But only because I’m laughing too hard to argue."
(They continue exploring the market, joking and sharing stories. The snow starts falling heavier, adding to the festive charm.)
Ethan (looking up):
"Snow’s getting serious. You sure you don’t need to get home?"
Anna (shrugging):
"Not in a hurry. Besides, this is the most fun I’ve had all season."
Ethan (smiling):
"Same here. Who knew random collisions could lead to... this?"
Anna (mock serious):
"Don’t get used to it. I’m not usually this forgiving."
Ethan (grinning):
"Noted. I’ll try not to crash into you next time."
(As the night goes on, they find themselves lingering, not wanting the moment to end.)
Anna (checking her watch):
"Wow, it’s almost midnight. Time flies when you’re... not annoyed."
Ethan:
"See? I told you I’d make it up to you."
Anna (smiling):
"Yeah, yeah. Don’t let it go to your head."
Ethan:
"Too late. So... same time next week? New Year’s Eve?"
Anna (pretending to think):
"Hmm... I’ll consider it. If you promise no more pickle ornaments."
Ethan (laughing):
"Deal. And no cocoa spills either."
(They part ways with a smile, the promise of a New Year’s celebration lingering in the air. The snow falls gently as the screen fades, leaving a sense of warmth and anticipation for what’s to come.)
