Chapter - 64

“Sussan, Please… Please go… I am not going to come with you whatever you may say to me. My life will rot and end in this cage for what I have done to you and this planet.” Linda said and walked across the cage to lie down in one corner. Sussan gripped the cage bars with her hands and could not understand how she could break Linda’s resoluteness. She could not acknowledge the fact that Linda would do anything to harm her or her family. She believed that whatever Linda had done was because of her love for her brother, David. Anyone would willingly do such a thing when someone tricks you to believe that they could bring back the dead. “Linda, you are not the first one to fall into the devil’s hands. There were many in the past and present and even in the future they would do the same to save their loved ones. But now is not the time to lose your hope! The minute you fight back, the evil creatures would get afraid and would vanish from here. So, trust me this once and take my hand to come out of the cage,” Sussan begged her. But Linda laid motionless on the corner of the cage without saying anything to Sussan. At that time, Draven came near them and opened the cage door using his weapon with a blast. He then slowly strolled near her and lied next to her and hugged her waist. He then moved his hands and touched her face. “Finally, I saw the real you! Do you know how scared I was when I saw a clone replace you? I was worried until now that something tragic happened to you and I was planning on killing the evil witch to exact revenge.” He said in a relaxed tone. “What? No!” Linda turned around and explained. “You cannot kill the witch. Promise me that you will take Sussan and Peter away from here.” Linda ordered him and punched his chest. Draven did not stop Linda from punching his chest. He pushed the hair that fell on her face behind her ears and kissed her forehead. Linda blushed and then kicked his legs. He did not even wince even though the kick hurt his leg very badly. He pulled her close to him and said, “If you deserve to die then so am I. Even I hid the truth from everyone. I already found out about what you did to David long ago. Also, when we went to check the portals, across the border, I saw you talking to Sussan and David. So, I have also committed a crime by going against the militant’s rules. Since I will also be punished for hiding the truth, I better stay with you here and let my handsome body rot and die pitifully in this cage along with you,” Draven said with confidence and smiled at her. Linda stared at him intensely and hastily stood up after pushing him away from her. She even bent down and pulled the curled-up Draven and made a firm decision. “Let us all hunt down that witch! I know where to find her. Once we bring her down, we will seek justice for what she had done to this planet and our lives,” She grudgingly said and darted out of the cage along with Draven. Draven with a smirk, said “This is my Linda! Now you are back!” When Peter went around to check for the trio, he noticed that they were not captured by the evil witch. Instead, the slaves had saved them and brought them to the room they had used to stay. After rescuing them and the slaves who were willing to come along with them, he was led inside a secret room. He saw more creatures from other planets being locked inside several thousands of cages. “I did not expect she would have captured so many of them. When Nina let out the creatures and people from the floor where we were kept, I was relieved. But now... “ James shook his head in disappointment. As Peter heard Nina’s name, he clenched his fist in desperation. He missed her and he knew that it’s going to be difficult from then on for everyone here on this planet. They rescued everyone including the animals and plants that were locked by the witch from all the rooms and floors. They could not believe that thousands of creatures were kept in such a small place. “I don’t know what sort of experiments she did with these creatures but some are almost on the verge of dying,” James told Peter as he helped them out of the cage. “We won’t leave anyone behind. Small or big… live or dead. Bring everyone out of this place as soon as possible.” Peter ordered in a stern voice. After bringing almost all the creatures out of that building, Peter stopped Draven and said, “You need to go meet Linda. My mom is having trouble bringing her out of the cage. Make sure to let them get out of this building before it’s too late.” “Ok,” Draven nodded his head and rushed towards them. After he convinced and brought Sussan and Linda out, he saw the building collapse in front of him. “Where is Peter? My son! Is he not out yet?” Sussan tried to enter the rumble again. But Draven and Linda stopped her as the structure looked very unstable and might fall on top of them at any moment. “Sussan, we need to get out of here soon. Peter told me to bring you both out of the protective barrier before this place is thrown out into the black space. Its power to stay here is already gone, the minute Bairania left this place.” Draven warned her. “But Peter!” Sussan hesitated as she did not want to lose her son again. “Nothing will happen to Peter. You do know that he had the power of the Ashes Lord,” Draven informed her. “I know but I…” Sussan looked at the rumble once again and paused. Her heart was throbbing in pain and she also did not get to see her daughter yet. “What about Elly?” Sussan asked Draven. “I saw Elly and James leave the protective barrier when we came out,” Linda told her. Sussan took a deep breath and said, “You both leave! I will wait here until Peter comes out of that place.” “No…” Linda tried to stop her but Sussan pushed Linda and Draven out of the drinking protective barrier. By the time Peter, James, and Elly saved all those creatures and came out, the place had started to crumble down. It soon collapsed and started to disappear in front of their eyes. The protective barrier also kept on shrinking on them right before the building started its own destruction. “I want you to bring everyone out of the protective barrier now,” Peter said and turned to go inside the collapsing building again. “Where are you going?” James asked him but Peter had already left and entered the way they came out. “Brother Peter…” Elly shouted and tried to follow him. “Elly, we will wait outside the barrier until your brother returns,” James said and brought her outside. As they met Linda and Draven, Elly ran towards them and hugged them. She then told them that Peter did not come with them as he had to go back inside the building again. “Sussan also decided to wait outside the building for Peter, chief. Should we go inside to bring them out?” Linda asked James. “No! I don’t think we will be able to go inside the protective barrier right now. Did you not see that the barrier had already shrunk too much and we will never be able to make it inside,” James shook his head and stopped them. “Ahhh… It’s too nerve-wracking to wait here for them. We should have forced Sussan to come outside along with us,” Draven complained as he almost started to lose his patience. “There was nothing we could do at that time when Sussan pushed us out without our knowledge. I didn't even notice that the protective barrier had shrunk us so much,” Linda said and patted his shoulder. “Draven, contact the militants and ask them to send us help. Linda, gather the creatures and find out which planets they belong to,” James instructed as he thought that waiting here simply would be a waste of time.
