Chapter - 65

Once Peter entered the building again, he lifted his hand high in the air and stopped time with a flick of his fingers. As the destruction of the building came to a halt, he looked around him once. He then walked towards the cage where he last met Nina. As the building had collapsed on top of the cage, space was not enough for him to walk into the cage. So, he knelt on the ground and crawled inside while his eyes scanned the surrounding area. As expected there was no trace of her left anywhere inside the cage. With a disappointed gaze, just when he was about to come out, something poked his palm. He bent down and noticed the horn that she used to be still in very good shape. With a small sad smile, he picked it up and examined it. Inside the horn, he saw several microscopic Minia’s trembling and cursing at their fate. Peter placed his ears near them and tried to listen to them. But as they noticed him, the minion stopped speaking altogether. They became cautious and ran inside the shell. “Don’t worry, I am here to rescue you guys. I will keep you safe from now on…” Peter said with a smile and twinkling eyes. After a minute of silence, one of the Minia’s came out and said to him, “How can we trust you? Didn’t you leave our Master behind once to die? So, what face have you come here to save us? Just leave us alone. If this is the doom that awaits us then let it be! We will take that this is where our life’s come to an end.” “I did not want to leave her behind but I was unconscious at that time because of the poison…” Peter tried to explain until the Minia’s started to mumble among themselves. “Poison… Poison… he is telling the truth… They were taken over by the poisons…” “Still, he should have tried to take her along with him.” “But he was out of his senses. We should try to not make any trouble for my Master. She needed us…”  “But we did not come out on time to save our master… It’s not his fault” “How can we know if he is a good person or not?” “Don’t forget about our previous owner! He was cruel and …” Suddenly they all trembled and the horn shook in Peter’s hands. Still one of the Minia’s said, “But right now I think we should take this chance if we all don’t want to perish..” “Don’t you know if we stay here we will all vanish forever?” “I know but how much can we trust him?” “We can’t” “But we have to!” “This is our only chance to escape from this hellish place.” “But…” “No butts… Let’s all go with him. That’s all!” Everyone mumbled together and it made Peter’s ear hurt a lot. If not for his power, all these mumbles could have caused his hearing loss. Finally, after discussing a lot for several minutes, they came to a decision. “Ok, That’s enough. For now, we will go with him. I don’t want to die in this rumble…” One of the Minia’s came out and gave him a signal that they would come with him. “Good! You guys made the decision fast enough as the time limit I could hold this place together is about to end,” Peter informed him and ran towards the opening he came from earlier. But then even after running for a long time, he couldn’t find the opening anywhere. It must have got closed after he came inside the building. Just when he was thinking of making an exit by kicking the wall, the rumble in front of him moved slightly, and then a blast was heard. “Come out soon! My magic has its limits and the opening may get closed anytime now,” Sussan shouted and informed her son. “Mom! Thank you!” Peter said to her and rushed outside the building. Just when he hopped out, the protective barrier behind them almost crushed them. Peter, using his powers, made a hole in the barrier and let his mother out first.  Then he jumped out after glancing at the rumbles in front of him. He now understood why Bairania left the place in such a hurry after letting them into the basement. This place was already on the verge of dying and her powers had already been used after keeping Nina for a long time here. Until Nina was here the building was steady and the evil witch was able to maintain its stance in the city. After Nina left, she couldn’t hold such a huge building together and it had already started to collapse. The building moved from one place to another as it had become like a balloon that would go to some random place as the wind flow.  Since the evil witch thought to kill us all here, she made us come here to rescue Linda. Her plan would have worked out if Peter did not receive the Ashes Lord’s power. But now we are safe and we were able to save others as well. Even though it cannot be considered as a victory, still, they could rejoice it as their first step towards victory. “Mom!” Elly shouted as she was the one who first saw them coming out of the protective barrier. “Thank goodness! You both are safe!” James, Linda, and Draven then rushed near them. “Elly! My dear girl! You are safe! I am sorry! I am so sorry! Mommy is a little late… please forgive me dear” Sussan hugged her and then kissed, all over her daughter’s face. “Mommy… I am grown up now, so stop kissing me.” Elly complained but did not push her mother away. “Don’t tell me, you too have grown up a lot now that you don’t want Mommy any longer,” Sussan pouted her mouth and made a sad face. “Mom!” Peter and Elly exclaimed together. “At least you both are calling me mom, I just must be happy with that alone,” Sussan said and stood on the ground. Elly pulled her hands down and kissed her cheeks. She then said, “Mom, I missed you too…” “And I missed you very very much,” Sussan kissed Elly’s forehead and said. “So, mom, did you not miss me?” Peter asked and looked at her with sad eyes. “Why should I miss you? Anyway, we have been together all the time except once when you abandoned this mom and crossed the border,” Sussan said as she reminded him that she did not forgive him as he left her to go on an expedition along with his friend Robert. “Mom! I am sorry! Please don’t be angry with me! At that moment, I could not eat or sleep without knowing whether Elly was doing fine or not! At first, I did not want to leave without informing you but please… try to understand mom, even if I had told you, would you have allowed me to go alone? On my own… that too on such a risky expedition?” Peter asked her while looking at her with pleading eyes. After seeing his tender face, Sussan could not complain about it any longer. Anyway, it was all in the past and now they have big things to do. So, she decided to go lenient on him and said, “Alright! Fine! But from now on, wherever you go, you have to tell me first and you cannot just take off whenever you want.” “Ok, Mom! I won’t! I will tell you well in advance,” Peter promised her. Still, Sussan was not happy as Peter did not say that he would not go anywhere without her. She knew he had the power of the Ashes Lord now, still, he was a young boy in front of a mother’s eyes. Kids may grow fast but in every mother's eyes, they are always a small baby who they had to protect forever. Even if they achieve great heights and why not, may become a ruler of the whole universe, still they would be their small babies forever who they will protect under their wings. They would not think twice to sacrifice their life for their kid's safety.
