Chapter - 22

Sussan then turned towards Brenda and said to her, “I cannot fully explain everything to you right now but I need you to open a portal for Nameless to travel."

"A portal for Nameless to travel?" Brenda looked at her questioningly and said, "I don't think so and you do know why I am refusing."

"Yes, I know that you had sworn to never create a magical portal in your life. But right now, I don't think we have enough time or to be frank, we cannot waste our time arguing on that matter. You need to open a manual portal as soon as possible, if you want to save Nameless and Robert,” Sussan spoke in a hurried tone and checked Nameless once again.

She then realized that he does not have enough time left before his transformation. So, Sussan spoke in a strong voice after noticing Brenda's poker face.

"If we leave him as it is then he may turn into a living dead after his third or fourth attack. Also, we may never be able to bring him back and neither Robert could survive such strong attacks,” She informed Brenda.

"What are you talking about, Sussan? Are you even understanding what you are saying? There is no such thing as living dead on our planet. Moreover, I might not be so knowledgeable about the twin's existence but I am sure that there was no mention of living dead in our families. There is no way Nameless would turn into one," Brenda argued with her.

"Brenda, look... Look at his eyes and tell me..." Sussan mumbled and opened Nameless's eyes.

She then pointed at Nameless’s iris and asked her, "Can you see the change of color in his eyes? Who do you think will have such deadly eyes?"

Sussan questioned her with a straight face and made Brenda dumbstruck. Brenda could not take in what she had heard from her best friend and so she shook her head in disbelief. 

"No... This is impossible... No... No... No... This is not true... Nameless... Nameless... He... He... He..." She trembled from the shock and then suddenly, let go of Nameless's hands without any warning.

When he found an opportunity, Nameless jumped up from the ground and tried to run away from there. But David held on to his legs tightly and did not let go of him. Still, Nameless's strength was too much for him alone to get him back down on the ground. So he shouted to the ladies near him and said,

"I cannot hold on to him for long... If you both are done with your diagnosis and arguing, then kindly help me hold him down so that he cannot escape from here. If we let him escape in this unknown forest then I don't think we could ever find him again."

Sussan immediately grabbed Nameless's hands and pulled him down. But he pushed her away without much effort and growled at David baring his teeth. David shivered when he saw that but still did not let him go.

Sussan also did not accept defeat and held on to him once again. She then took out a small quantity of Asran's dust from inside her pouch and threw it at him. Nameless finally calmed down and so she was able to bring him back to the ground once again. 

She then looked at Brenda and said in an impatient voice, "Listen, Bre... We really have to do this if not we cannot imagine what might happen to them both. I know that you had learned how to open the portal when you were young but never once told anyone about it after an accident."

Still, Brenda did not react and only stared at Nameless with incredible eyes. So, Sussan tried to convince Brenda one more time, who remained silent even after hearing what she had said until then. She then continued to say,

"Also, I know that you are hesitating because of your husband but trust me, Peter is also there with Robert. And I am sure that he won’t let anyone harm his best friends. Please believe me on this as it's the only best option we have right now as I cannot allow Nameless to suffer because of our mistakes.”

Brenda squatted on the ground next to Nameless and caressed his head. 'I am sorry, I am sorry... I didn't know anything about this at all... I am sorry,' Her heart bled for both her sons once again.

“Brenda, please... I am sorry, but I am repeating this again and again... But we really don't have much time left. We need to send Nameless to Robert as soon as possible... So, please... I beg you... Ask yourself, are you going to let the kids suffer like this? Or let them reunite and become one, so that we can stop Nameless's transformation?” Sussan looked at Brenda with expectation and asked her.

"Sussan, they are my kids... I also want to do everything I can to save them both but... I am... I... It's a long time ago... I don't know if I could even perform the ritual to open a portal," Brenda said with tears in her eyes.

She then stood up from the ground and started rotating her hands in the air. She mumbled lots of ancient magic words and kept on turning her hands from one direction to another. With the force of the air and light combined with her inner strength, she opened a small portal while thinking of Robert.

A red swirling hole opened in front of them instead of the usual blue one. Brenda was doubtful but then she still said,

“I cannot hold the portal open for a long time. You both might need to hurry and get Nameless inside the portal. Also, this portal might not be as strong as the one those militants created but this should be enough to send Nameless to Robert.” 

Sussan nodded her head and signaled David to lift Nameless. But in a few seconds, Brenda almost lost half of her strength while trying to hold the portal open from closing on its own. She gritted her teeth and used as much force as possible on the portal to keep it open.

Meanwhile, Sussan whispered a few words into Nameless ears and then inserted a yellow cloth that had magical power into Nameless pocket.

“Do not open the yellow cloth until you meet Robert. This will help you if you face any issue on the travel and also will take you directly to him. Also, I have made sure to hide your presence from anyone else other than Robert. Do not let your inner demon wake up till then... You have to make sure to merge into one with Robert before your next attack,” Sussan mumbled those words to Nameless and then nodded her head at David.

David carried Nameless along with Sussan and then threw him into the portal. Once he was inside, the portal automatically closed and the force made Brenda fall on the ground while coughing blood.

Sussan held her in her arms and fed her two drops of strengthening potion which she took out from her infinite pouch. Brenda squatted on the ground independently once she regained one-fourth of her strength from the potion. She then hugged her legs and started to bawl out loudly while tears covered her face. 

"It's painful... It hurts so much..." She gripped her dress and mumbled in a very low inaudible voice.

Sussan patted her back and said, "Should I give you some calming potion too?"

"No... I am fine... Could you please let me stay alone for some time? Please... Everything that had happened until now is too much for me to take in and I don't have the heart to talk to anyone right now," Brenda said in between her cries.

Sussan nodded her head in understanding and stood up. She then said to Brenda, "We will go and check this forest area. I will come back and get you after some time."

She then waved her hands and asked David to follow her so that they could give her some space to drop everything off her mind through crying.

Meanwhile, Nameless traveled through the portal and fell directly on top of Robert’s head. Both of them crashed down together while Robert tried to push Nameless away. But Nameless held on to Robert's hand tightly and did not let go.

Everyone looked at Robert strangely as he was struggling to get up from where he fell and kept pushing his hands in front of him. All of them could only see Robert making weird actions in the air but not Nameless.

Elly noticed the half-visible yellow cloth from Nameless's pocket and tried to pull it. But then Nameless grasped her hand and pushed her away. Elly got frightened by that and jumped behind a little.
