Chapter - 62

Bairania then came out of her daze and exclaimed, “Oh! Peter boy, just relax. There is nothing to worry about… You can trust me…”

‘Trust? You?’ Peter gave her a cold gaze and huffed.

“It looks like you need this powder more than your mother does. Why can’t you believe me? This is just a speck of calming dust that I had prepared to make the slaves' heads cool down a little when they rebel against me.” Bairania informed him with a small smile on her face.

She then walked very close to him and whispered, “What could I do now? Since you have HIS heart embedded in yours, there is really nothing that would work on you, will it? Tut-tut… What a disappointment! I would have loved to do more experiments on you and also test your body and mind. But the moment is not right and I might have to wait until his ashes disappear from your body.”

She even made a sad face as spoke and pretended to regret the sudden power he got. She said as if it was the most grieving thing that could happen to him.

“Do not try to change the subject! I ask you for one last time. What did you throw at my mother?” Peter angrily asked her without hiding his revulsion towards her.

“Fine!Fine! It is just a relaxing powder as I said earlier. I am not truly not lying to you. Your mother looked like she needed some after seeing the way she saw shouting at me. Don’t you also think your mother should be a little cool headed by now?” Bairania asked him.

Peter stared at Bairania with vigilant eyes and then at his mother who was standing like a statue without any movement. She seemed frozen and he could not use his power to get rid of the dust on her body.

“But she is not moving…” Peter said through his gritted teeth clenched jaw.

“Oh! Did you try to use your powers just now to release your mother out of her current state? It won’t work as this dust was made with the help of Ashes Lord himself and not from his fake,” She chuckled and 

‘How did she find out about what happened with him and the Ashes Lord? That too whatever happened it all occurred when he was in his dreams.’ Peter thought while clenching his teeth together.

Moreover, unexpectedly he remembered that clone incident that happened in the military camp. He can’t believe that the evil witch was always one step ahead of them.

‘Is that why she tried to poison him, and she even sent that clone along with him to monitor his movements? If not, how could she have found out about the powers he had gained from the replica of the Ashes Lord? Or am I thinking too much into these things?’ He wondered and looked at Bairania with a scrutinizing gaze.

“Where is Linda?” Peter then asked her after turning into a normal person.

He realized that starting a fight right now would only result in their failure. Also, she had already made his mother, Sussan immobile and he was still unable to scan his surroundings for James, Draven, and Elly.

Even though Sussan remained motionless, she could clearly hear the conversation that was occurring between the evil witch and her son, Peter.

Sussan moved her eyes towards Peter when he mentioned his aunt's name, Linda. Her face finally brightened as she thought that Linda must know where David was right now.

“Now that is the right question to ask me! Let us all go and greet your aunt who helped me so much in achieving a lot of information about this planet. I will take you both to Linda but don’t even think about doing any tricks with me as I have already lost the mood to entertain any foul play,” Bairania warned them first before taking them to the dungeon where Peter and Robert were kept as prisoners a few days ago. 

She released Sussan from her frozen state and then said in a mocking tone, “If you ever try to pull any stunt on me, remember, I still hold the power of this place. Until this place is under my control, you both can never trick me, and neither could you bring me down easily. So, keep your hands and mouth shut as even if you try to say a single magical word then I would make sure to burst your heads.”

She then moved her face near Sussan and hissed like a serpent. Sussan wanted to push her face away from her but she gripped her hands together and tried to control her temper.

She cannot afford to stay like a statue leaving her son to fight this devil all by himself. For now, she decided to monitor the evil witch and once she finds her weak spot, Sussan would strike her and bring her down. 

When Peter entered the basement again where he first met Nina, his heart had an uneasy feeling about that place. He already knew that Nina would not be in this prison but he hoped that she stayed uninjured rather than disappearing from this planet forever.

His eyes traveled to the cage where they had been kept before. It was empty now and there was no trace of Nina.

‘Did he escape after releasing those animals?’ He wondered.

He also did not see as many creatures in the dungeon as before. ‘Maybe she let them escape before vanishing from here.’ He thought with a heavy heart.

When he moved to the next room in the basement, he saw Linda lying on one corner of another large cage. Her appearance did not look good and she was heaving in pain.

As Linda heard noises around her, she lifted her head and looked at the newcomers with horrified eyes. The minute, her eyes met Sussan’s face, she could not hide her guilty consciousness anymore and lowered her head instantly. 

She did not lift her head to see them any longer and continued to lie down in a fetal position, exactly pretending to be a dead person. When Sussan saw her appearance, her heart ached for her as well. 

She could not believe the evil witch's words yet as she still had faith in Linda. She then walked towards the cage hurriedly and was about to touch the cage bars. As Peter already had an almost near-death experience after touching the rods when he was imprisoned, he was faster like wind and pulled her behind him.

“Don’t Mom! It had poison spread on each rod and it’s lethal,” He warned his mother, Sussan.

Bairania saw their reactions and laughed at them for a good time. Linda crumbled even more and she crawled to touch the bars so that she could embrace death rather than meeting Sussan’s eyes once again.

“Don’t you dare try anything funny, Linda! You know very well that I am neither good nor a patient person,” Bairania gave a warning to Linda as she saw her move from her sleeping position towards the cage bars.

Once she made sure that Linda was not moving any longer, she then turned her head towards Peter and said, “Oh, Poor Peter, my dear Peter... Do not worry. I did not put any poison on the cage bars this time. Anyways happy reunion to you all. Bye-bye. I am leaving for now as I have important work to do.”

When no one showed any interest in knowing what that important work was, she had a disappointed expression on her face. With a dissatisfied voice, she asked them,

“Are you all not interested in knowing what my important work might be?”

As she did not get any response even after waiting for a long time, she let out a sigh and said, “I really can’t believe you! How could you not be at least a bit interested in knowing what I might do after having the military access and their plans in my hands?”

Still, he did not get any reply from them. They did not even look at her and completely ignored her altogether.

“Impossible! I am now going to destroy this planet and build my own army on this distorted place. Since no one has the power to stop me, I am going to do it with ease. Enjoy your stay here and I am sure that you people won’t have any reason to cause me to delay my victory.” She told them and gave an evil laugh which made Linda shrink her body even more.

She then flew away from there and Peter waited until her shadow disappeared from that place. Her slaves showed themselves and followed her quietly who were staying hidden from their n***d eyes.
